Finding myself back on Highway 28 in Pineville with a craving for some pizza, I decided to give Jim Deggy's another try. I'm definitely glad that I did (and so was my stomach). One of the most important criteria for me when it comes to pizza is crust. I like a variety of crusts as long as they are good. This one did not disappoint. I like crispy crust, but I can also appreciate a crust that is soft and chewy. This one reminds me of a fine pita or naan. The wood fired oven also gives it a unique taste. All of the ingredients were fresh and tasty. The veggie pizza that I had was quite good, which speaks for itself because it's harder to get flavor from a vegetable pizza as opposed to a meat based pizza. This is a trendy pizza restaurant that has a private parking lot. The pride of Pineville. It is very clean and has a decent sized dining room. There is also a bar in there. They have some exotic pizza choices on the menu They also serve soups, salads, and desserts. I ordered the Jalapeño Popper pizza. It was very delicious. Everyone in my party was very please with their pie as well. It was up there with the best pizza that I ever had. The pizza is cooked in a fire oven and it did not take long to get my pie. I would say about 10 minutes or so. This is a very good pizza joint, that also happens to have a bar. It is well deserving of its high rating. I highly recommend giving this place a shot. Jim Deggys is a solid pizza joint, and it's one of my favorites in all of Louisiana! I ordered a custom pizza with pesto base, fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, and basil. First of all, the pizzas are stunning and very photogenic, and second, they taste as good as they look! The pizza had a great wood fired flavor, subtle garlic crust, and fresh tasting ingredients and toppings. I was told to try this place in addition to Wildwood Pizza, and I'd say in comparison, Jim Deggys has a doughier crust, whereas Wildwood's is more crispy. Jimmy Deggys is also a bit more expensive. Overall five stars for great flavor, but if you're from Alexandria, I'd say save the drive and just go to Wildwood instead, as it's just as good and also cheaper. Fabulous . I was pleasantly surprised at how good these pizzas were. Looking at the menu it all sounded delicious but pizza is a fine art. They did not disappoint. The crusts was not super thin but thinner than other places. The edges had the slightly edge and it made the crust great to dip into their sauces. Probably the best pizza I've ever had but horrible customer service. Looks like its being operated by incompetent teenagers who don't care about customers service. The last 3 times I've been there I waited at least 40 minutes. This last time, (the 4th time) I ordered at 5:58. I arrived at the drive through and pay at 6:12. I was told to drive around and they would bring it to me. No one ever came. At 6:30 I walk in and there are several people ahead of me. The girl that helped me sees me but goes back to working on other pizzas. Finally when I get up to the front of the line around 6:40 and she instantly says my name and goes to get my pizza. So was I supposed to go in to get my pizza? If so, it wasn't made clear to me but Why then have a drive through? And if you see me waiting for my pizza why would you wait until I get to the front of the line to go get it for me especially when I've already paid? Quite literally the best brick oven pizza I've ever had. I live about 45 minutes away and try to have it every week. The pizza is always delicious. Recently, I tried the Experiment 626 and was blown away. It is topped with pulled pork, jalapeños, pineapple, and bbq sauce.... Amazing! The pepperoni is also delicious. The atmosphere is great.
