I tried the deluxe version on this visit, but find the proportions in the original much better. My wife had a bacon grilled cheese sandwich which comes on a pretzel roll with four kinds of cheese, and avocado, accompanied by a tomato-basil dipping sauce. This is a really excellent sandwich. My wife enjoyed this one so much she attempted to duplicate it the next day for her lunch. Yeah, Schlotzsky's has some good specialty sandwiches. Chips are a bad value, i.e., too few and too expensive. I do not think you can find a smaller bag. I believe the bags are less than an ounce. I vote with my feet on this one and never get chips. Come on Schlotzsky's, triple the size or include it gratis with the sandwich. This is a gyp.

This is really disappointing because we love the food at Schlotzky's & this is the only location left in Louisiana. We just stopped here during July 4, 2026 weekend. The entire glass front door was cracked & looked like it would shatter if you touched it, but it was not covered for safety. They didn't have ANY tea made & the water out of the coke machine tasted horrible (in Shreveport, we have F grade water, but this was somehow infinitely worse), so I didn't even get a drink that we paid for. Both bathrooms are extremely dirty. My husband said there are never any paper towels in the men's room & the air dryer is rusted & too gross to use. And the water sprays out like crazy when you barely turn it on. He said it also stinks. The ladies room is also gross & the sink looks like it hasn't been cleaned in many years. The toilet seat doesn't fit on the toilet & slides around everywhere when you're not moving. The water barely comes out of the faucet, making it hard to wash your hands. (For at least a few years, the bathroom door locks didn't even work, but I guess they finally fixed that, at least.) We sat at the one table we could find that wasn't dirty. My husband also noticed some of the floor tiles are coming loose. My husband said his Original sandwich wasn't hot all the way through & his chips were stale. And they gave me the wrong dipping sauce with my calzone. We were weirded out by how dirty the restrooms & restaurant were, making us really concerned about how clean the kitchen & food could be when everything else is so dirty. So due to all of this, we will not be returning.

Atwoods of Alexandria reminds me of so many bakeries in Louisiana (#1), these places are almost…read morealways popular within the community with an endless plethora of sweets with lots of other options in between. Whether it's an occasional treat, a special occasion, or simply lunch, Atwood's is always a great option. Locals are here for all sorts of reasons: morning coffee, freshly baked pastries (croissants are on point), sandwich for lunch, dessert anytime, and cake. The latter is a big one, especially during this time of year, i.e. Mardi Gras. Their regular king cake with cream cheese is most definitely a hit. I wouldn't hesitate to get a custom cake ordered here and I think their prices are still reasonable. They also have a number of small, personalized desserts, and also have a solid variety of gelato and cookies as well. I appreciate their attention to seasonal items. It's super cute on the outside, and despite not being overly spacious, has enough tables for small groups to enjoy a drink and a small dessert treat. Parking is plentiful, they accept credit cards, and they're a women-owned establishment. The times can get tricky since they close on Sundays and Mondays and are only open till 2pm for midweek. From Thursday-Saturday, they're open till 9:00pm. __________ (#1) A lot like Ambrosia (https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-ambrosia-bakery-baton-rouge-2) in Baton Rouge or Amore (https://www.yelp.com/biz/amore-bakery-and-cafe-gretna) in NOLA.

Firehouse Subs

Firehouse Subs North Alexandria 700 MacArthur Dr Suite A…read moreAlexandria, LA 71303 Today, Tuesday 5/28/24, on my way back to Lake Charles returning from a work trip in Alexandra, my coworker suggested that we stop for lunch at Firehouse Subs. He stated how GOOD the subs were, so I agreed to give this place a try. Since this was my first-time dining at this franchise restaurant, I didn't know what to expect and kept an open mind as I am always willing to try something different and give a business a shot at earning my future business. As I walked into the restaurant, I was quite impressed with the cleanliness and the décor of the dining room. The walls are decorated with items that firemen wears or things that you would find in a firehouse. There's also two TV hanging on the walls for your enjoyment while you wait on your order to be prepared. There's also a lot of covered outdoor seating for the guests who enjoy the fresh outdoors. As we approached, the counter to place our order, we were immediately greeted by a young man who patiently answered all of questions about the menu since this was my first time here and I wasn't quite sure what type of sub I wanted. The wait time after ordering was about 7 minutes which is awesome considering it was lunch time. I ordered the medium (7" - 8") Club on a Sub sandwich on white bread with smoked turkey breast, honey ham, crispy bacon, and melted Monterey Jack cheese, served with lettuce, tomatoes, sliced spicy pickles, onions, mayo, and deli mustard with a dill pickle spear served on the side. This was one of the best sub sandwiches I have ever eaten. The bread was fresh and soft. The sub sandwich was made to order, served hot, had a lot mean (ham and turkey breast), perfectly topped with fresh vegetables, finished with just the right amount of mayo and mustard, and evenly cut into two pieces for the ease of handing and enjoying. I will dine at this location again if I'm ever in the Alexandra area again and I will give other Firehouse Subs a try, thanks to the positive dining experience I had at this location.

I asked for a manager to inform them so that someone doesn't actually get hurt, but the employees stated they would let the manager know and they are not allowed to give out the manager's phone number. They did not seem to be in a hurry to call their manager, but after insisting, they came and looked at the hazard and agreed it was an issue. I've attached photos of the hazard. I fell down around 10:35 AM and caught myself, but at 7:15 PM am still experiencing hand, shoulder, back, and toe pain. Whoever is the owner of this parking lot needs to be informed and aware that this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. If you trip on this hazard, please be aware that the restaurant IS AWARE of the danger as of 10:45 AM, refused to let me speak with someone in charge, and that it has already caused minor injuries to myself, a pregnant woman.
