The brisket was smoked perfectly: it was juicy, flavorful, and had great smoke flavor and nice smoke ring. I also went with the Mac & cheese and potato salad. The Mac & cheese was pretty good, although the potato salad was a little bland. The service was impeccable! The staff we encountered were all helpful and very friendly and the restaurant is very clean and well-kept. Make it a point to visit Koal's BBQ, I guarantee you won't be disappointed! While Pineville is not really Cajun country, I was expecting a local favorite not Genghis. But damn I need to open my mind some. This place was great. Here's how it works. You go down the raw line, pick your protein l, veggies and sauce and hand it to a guy who cooks it on a giant flattop grill. It was damn good and damn reasonable. Better than expected for sure. If you're in Pineville, I recommend you stop and check it out.

I had read in a local poll that Darrell's had the best hamburgers in Alexandria. I've never put…read moremuch stock in those polls because it's usually the restaurant owners getting their friends and family to vote for them. But finally, I tried the hamburger and fries. It was a very good hamburger for the price. I do think there are better hamburgers in town, but they cost more. This hamburger is certainly better than one you would get from a fast food chain. The fries were pretty good. They're the kind I like. I would eat here again.
