Not a fan of the rain or shine policy, really sets people up to lose their money if you make a reservation for a private party in advance. Women at the computers checking everyone in aren't the most customer service oriented, and the safety debriefing was fast and not loud enough. When they were setting up my son's group with paintballs prior to heading to the field the kid working kept dropping them on the floor. (We had 18 kids x's 8-10 balls he's dropping) adds up since you're buying them. It was cold and rainy the day of which didn't stop us. The amount paid was about $500, for that amount we should at least have great service front desk service and staff that explains safety etc loud enough for all the people in our party to hear. read more

The paintball isn't the problem. It's the owner. Paid for my child and others and was told my payment did not go through. I showed where it had gone though. Was still told no. Paid for it again and have yet to get a refund after paying twice. I go my my bank involved still owner denied that the first payment went through. It was embarrassing and we had to wait... who does that? Everyone was upset I was upset. Hard to really enjoy my sons birthday after that fiasco. Hard pass on this. Customer Service is important at times like this and I'm not rich. I work hard for every bit of money I make as a single mom. I just wanted to curl up and cry. I held it together for my son's birthday, the place where he wanted to go. That was the only important thing. That's what we do as moms right. read more

Outlaw Paintball Is very nice place to play I've been going seasonally and the field are lots of fun!The store is very nice for the size of it and the refs are very friendly and are cool.Ive been going ever since 7th grade, and now that i am 9th grade I just really wanna be there more cause of the atmosphere.I find it cool how they have airball field for tournament players and if you wanna play woods ball you can too!They got a decent shop although there are days it kinda looking empty but I think they'll restock it back.This place even paintball for younger kids to play (7yrs old) which can introduced the sport to more people.I love this place and wouldn't mind if I got to work there as a referee there! read more

Outlaw Paintball - Paintball Near Me - Pflugerville, Texas

If you are looking to go play paintball without a group, stay away from outlaw paintball. A friend of mine and myself headed out to Outlaw paintball for the first time this past weekend. The prices were pretty low, it was $18 for the day and rental gun. My buddy paid $60 for 2000 paint balls. You cannot bring your own paint here, so that was kinda bad. The only reason we went here was because it was getting too late in the day to go out to the other known good paintball fields. Once we got inside, there was nobody at the rental booth... There was only one ref for the 3 fields they had. So we sat around for about an hour wondering when they were gonna setup a game. A group of kids came in, and were escorted to a field to start playing. We realized that they were not going to setup games, we would just have to go play for ourselves. So we did that, and it sucked... Playing without a ref, people would turn their guns all the way up and just stay in if they got hit. We played maybe 3 games with just random people and left. All in all we were there prolly 3 hours. It was the worse paintball field i've ever been to. No organization at all, if we would not have just went and started playing we would have not gotten to play at all. There was no direction at all. Also if you are taking your kids out here, beware that they do not regulate the pressure of the guns... So if you have a custom bought paintball gun, you can turn it up as high as it goes and potentially cause some damage. I know I left all bloody. read more

Pros: -I got to play paintball. -Closer than most other fields. Cons: -Refs were modern incarnations of Helen Keller. They played catch with a pod on the sideline while speedballers unloaded on the rental walk-on players. Never saw them make a paint-check. Only called out players when they were already walking off the field. -Field paint was pretty sub-par. Dimpled to hell, watery fill that left a chalky residue and bounced almost as much as it broke. No premium options for people who wanted to play pump or run something better through their markers. Wouldn't be a big deal if the field didn't require you to use their paint, but they do. -Fields were meh. Several mud pits that could use a layer of gravel. Refs repeatedly took us to only two of the six fields which were coincidentally the least interesting ones to play on. Conclusion: Hard pass. if you're in Austin there are other options which are better equipped, have more interesting fields and more competent staff. You'll get a better experience driving to one of the other slightly less convenient fields. read more

Summary: overall a fantastic Paintball arena for some good fun with friends who dont want to spend a lot of money for recreation. The fields are small which generate more dynamic firefights. The Details if you have time to read: PROS: 1. Current groupon $54 deal for 4 ppl worked out great. No hassles no complications. Includes admission, gear rental, and a total 1000 paintballs for the group. 2. Rental guns are OK quality mostly Tippman 98s in a condition that is expected at most paintball establishments. Tippmans are very hardy guns that can withstand a lot of abuse... Sorta like an AK rifle. 3. The low cost barrier of entry makes it easy to introduce new people to paintball especially when you use Groupon (see PROS point #1) 4. Getting hit by a paintball from a rental gun at a normal distance is not super painful at all which is due to their use of air tanks. This can be a good thing but I still prefer CO2 tanks to keep my accuracy + distance. Nevertheless I will keep it here in the PRO category since most other users will enjoy less pain and could care less about accuracy on the gun. CONS: 1. Young teens run the rental booth and fields which means customer service and the ability to have foresight & understanding of what the customer really needs/wants will be lacking. They are nice but just not very proactive. 2. They can only refill Air tanks here which means No CO2 tanks and No nitrous tanks. I'm accustomed to CO2 tanks and their accuracy/speed. The air tanks did not have the same performance I am use to. 3. Highly inaccurate guns. All my shots went to 10 o'clock from iron sight and as your tank ran low your shots will falter to 4 o'clock. None of my shots were straight or even relatively close. This is due to Con #2 (see reference) 4. Serious long downtimes between games and this is with 30+ players sitting at the picnic tables chilling. (Reference Con #1). You will play 2 games and then come back to the bench for 20+ mins to chill whereas at Texas Paintball you will bring your bags of paintball to the field and reload between rounds because you play 4-5 games before coming back to chill for 10 mins. 5. No Woodsball field. A lot of people love Woodsball. It feels like jungle warfare. read more

I hadn't played paintball in years, but decided to go myself one Sunday and play some walk on games. It seems that the action on Sundays doesn't really start until around 12, so I wouldn't recommend showing up before then. There were 20-40 players there at any given time, with people coming and going. If you're new to paintball or a casual/recreational player, I would recommend this field for a relatively cheap, good time. If you're looking for high intensity, competitive speedball, I'd pass. The basic rental equipment and gun were pretty standard, and worked fine. Field fee was I think $15, and the equipment rental was $5. I bought an entire case of 2000 paintballs for $55, which I thought was cheap for field paint, but way more than I needed. I could have gotten away with 500-1000 rounds easily. Air fills were free, I didn't see any co2 being used. There are four fields. The pipe and spool fields are symmetric, small, and fast. The inflatable field is also symmetric, and significantly larger. All these fields are decently laid out. The fields really noticeably needed to be cleaned. There's a fourth "castle attack and defend" field which I thought was a boring tragedy, but we only played it twice, and I could've avoided it if I'd known better. Some people liked it. The refs were young and goofy, but decent about organizing games. They were active during the games and checked hits. Safety like barrel covers and masks were enforced, and I noticed them checking a few guns to enforce semi-auto only. However, they didn't explain any safety rules to me, so I wouldn't have known them if I was new. Refs were good about ending games before younger/weaker players got massacred. I didn't notice anyone getting overshot, and it seemed like everyone had a good time. read more

The Good: Came to this place to celebrate my son's 12th birthday. The place is close to where we live and the rates are cheap. He enjoyed his 1st time out because there was a lot of kids out there also. He would like to play again. The Bad: Place was out of control. As soon as you walked through the barrier, the plugs were off the guns and everyone was shooting. The ref's just let it happen and had no control over the situation. The breaks were too long between games considering it was only a minute walk to the course. Too many people after lunch and it was hard for them to split up the people and play different games at the same time. Again, no organization. The Ugly: There were some jerks out there that took the game too seriously. This course is not the place to take things seriously. There are other places for more competitive games. There was this one particularly tall, bald-headed guy who was yelling at a kid and he did nothing wrong. Again, nothing was done by the ref's. I'm sure it's not always like that but it was enough to not want to go back. In Summary: There are much better places to play than this one - Jonestown. But if you want a quick game, then this is the place...cheap and convenient. I would come back if my son wants to play again. read more

I have visited this paintball field a handful of times and my most recent visit will definitely be my last one. It was such a horrible experience that I have written a formal complaint to the BBB as well. If you are interested in a good/great paintball experience, PLEASE go elsewhere. There were a number of issues that arose during my last visit (only one game played): -- Safety (Chronograph): The chronograph was positioned to point down the main walkway that is used to go to/from the fields. Chronographs are critical to ensuring a paintball marker is safe to use. If a marker is shooting too fast, this could cause a severe injury to anyone in its path as well as damage equipment. -- Safety (Rental Marker Safety): The field issues out paintball rentals to players who pay to rent them. The maintenance is performed by the employees/referees of the field and are supposed to check and make sure the safety is on. Two teenagers next to me had rented paintball markers and I noticed after they fired one on accident that the safety was on, but the marker still went off. I told them to take it to the maintenance shop and walked with them. As I was leaving, I overheard the employee tell the kids that they don't always work and to "just keep your finger off the trigger." In my 15+ years of having paintball as a hobby, Tippmann models clearly state in the owner's manual to use the safety when not in use. This was another safety concern. -- Poor Control over Rules: In a discussion with the OWNER about the 'new rules', he stated his referees cannot enforce the rules. A referee did not allow us to play (again) due to the type of markers we had. We went to the owner with this complaint and it was stated that the reason we could not play was because we had electronic markers and it was not fair to play alongside those with mechanical markers (like the ones rented at the field). One of the main rules stated no firing modes were allowed other than semi-automatic, regardless of the type of markers. When I mentioned all markers come with that option, he said, "I can't have all of my refs running around checking on everyone's markers." What is the point of referees again? All referees are supposed to enforce the safety rules and these refs did not. -- Safety (Briefing Players): Safety Briefs are provided for all players to they know the rules and everyone can play safely. It was held in a open area instead of a separate area solely for those entering the field and was near the air refill stations, which was not conducive to a proper safety briefing environment. I was never asked by any referee if my group and I had been safety briefed, nor was I directed at any time that it was necessary. -- Safety (Air Tank Hydrostatic Check): All high pressure air tanks over a certain volume are required by law to have a hydrostatic pressure test performed before sale and once every five years afterward if continued to use. Paintball fields are required to check these tanks for the safety of their customers. I saw various people bring in tanks that were not checked. I personally brought in six of my own and was never asked if our tanks were in hydro, nor were they verified by any employee or referee. -- Customer Service: The minute I walked in there were issues with the service. On the website, it has a picture of First Strike rounds. I designed and built my own marker that uses only these type of rounds, so when I saw the image on the website with these rounds available, I took the opportunity to bring my marker. When I arrived, however, I was told at the front by the owner's son that they do not have these rounds available and when shown the website image, he said they go through so many products that the website is not accurate. His attitude was uncaring. -- Laziness: While we were waiting in line to play (we ended up waiting an hour just to play another game only to be told we couldn't), a player test fired at an inflatable bunker. The referee told him not to do that, and I asked him why because that is a normal action at paintball fields. His response was that they have to clean the bunkers after close of business and don't want to do the extra work. -- Paint Not Inspected: It is a common practice at paintball fields to open and inspect paint before giving it to the players. This prevents fraudulent claims that paint was bad when received by customers and also protects the customer from receiving poor quality products. Our paint was neither opened nor inspected. -- Misinformation of Rules and Final Decision to Leave: After reading the 'Poor Control over Rules' section up above, prior to this information, we had ALREADY played one game with many other players. It was only after this game when the 'new rule' applied and we were stalled for an hour waiting for a different game. The owner was informed on all of these issues and when asked for a refund, he said no. He did not care about our complaint. Great. read more

The experience I had with Outlaw Paintball over the phone was so bad I won't bother taking my business to them. I was looking to host a birthday party for my 13 year old son, his firiends, and some adults. I checked their web site, which detailed the offered group packages. They had two group offerings: a volume discount for 10+ people and a private field party. The volume discount stated that 10+ people could play the whole day at a rate of $10/person on a shared field. The private field party was for a 2 hour block of time where only the members of your group would be on the field. The volume group rate was exactly what I wanted. The problem started when I called on Monday 5/30 and left a voice mail. It was a holiday, but after 5 days and still no phone call, I decided to call them again. A woman answered and was very rude. I explained what I wanted and she told me that the volume discount was only good for 2 hours and that the web site was wrong. She said she would call me back after checking the web site. Well, I didn't get a call back, so I called the next day, Saturday. This time I was speaking to a man that was at least not as rude, but he basically said the same thing. There was no volume discount for all day play. It was only for a 2 hour block and the web site was wrong and he would not honor it. Now, the full person price is $17.50 to play all day. If I brought 10 people and paid the full price for 8 hours of play that would cost $175.00. Broken down per hour that would be just under $22.00 per hour. If you pay $10.00 per person for 10 people and play for 2 hours that is $100.00, which as far as total cost goes is cheaper, but you are now paying $50.00 per hour. So where's the discount! The whole point of offering volume discounts is that it encourages groups of people to make use of your product or service that normally wouldn't and attracts more business to your company. The only thing this place has going for them is that they are the only paintball field in town, so I guess that allows them to run their business any way they want. They definitely lost my business though. read more

Took my son and three friends to play on a Saturday. Got there at 9:15am. Helped right away when we walked in the door. They went over the rules with the kids and made sure they knew the rules before they got their guns. Paint is pricey but you get free air all day, on their rental gun (3000psi) or your personal gun (4500psi) We purchased the groupon for $69 for four people. This was a great deal for the kids to play for the 5 hours we were there. Will try them again. read more

This was literally the shittiest speedball field I've ever played on, turf was shit, puddles of nasty water, uneven, smelled like a month old used condom. Paint is overpriced for what it is; walmart paint. Chrono range is a joke, looks more like a porta potty. Don't waste your money or time here, go to Texas paintball. read more

I've been playing paintball off and on since 1998. With that being said this is a great local field. Family oriented staff with a true passion for the sport and recreational side of paintball. Fair pricing decent paint and a friendly environment. I wouldn't recommend any other field in Austin. Wether you are looking for a field for your paintball party or a place to practice as a team this is defiantly the paintball park of Austin. My team practices here every weekend and so do a few other teams and it's nice to finally have a place that encourages tournament players to practice and get better that doesn't destroy the wallet. read more

Horrible field...I asked the main guy at the front desk for a safety brief and was told the refferree was going to give me a briefing...I never received one. I was Never told where the air station was located or how to operate the air station when I eventually did find it. The equipment was wet and still dirty as I could not see threw my lense coated with yellow paint that had stained the lense. the pod pack was ripped and was as old as the field is. The staging area had no light for me to clean my gun or equipment. all around this equipment seemed to have been there since the start of outlaw. I had asked the refferree where I go to chrono(test my speed of the gun) he told me "Naaa don't worry bout it man your good". That is unsafe...so not having a safety brief or gun chrono is against insuruance policy...no telling what else they are doing against insuraunce rules. During game play...there was no surrender warning or proximity of how close you can get to shoot another player. The reffs do not paint check/check another player when you shoot them, instead they stand at the 50 yard line talking with their friends. I hit multiple players and called for paint checks and the referee stood there looking at me like a deer in head lights. There is no customer service. The workers are all worried about there Bf/Gf problems (over heard an hour long conversation with the equipment girl talking to her friend about that one.) As I was walking out the main guy was talking to me as a normal (player that goes normally) walked through the door and he ignored all aspect of me and started to b/s with the normal. The co owner behind the front desk has no problem letting this All go down and happen as he is supposed to pull seniority and give these kids directions on how to succeed at a job. I agree with the 3 star average. this place is ok, but could be much better with a couple of easy tweaks. Here's my quick synopsis: the good: - nice proprietors, young refs in the fields were friendly, capable, helpful and involved in the games - price reasonable - $58 for me and my son [included rental of guns/helmets and 500 paintball package]. we played for about 2.5 hrs, which ended up being 6 or 7 games (games lasted between 15-20 mins each I'd say). - layout of the fields, the structures and the barriers were good I thought, if not particularly imaginative. - employees clearly trained to take safety seriously the bad: - several guys with really high quality guns were allowed to play with the majority of us who had rentals. this was like battling a guy with an AR with a Daisy Red Rider BB gun. not even close to fair. I'd guess our rental guns shot at about half or 2/3 the velocity, but more significantly our guns were far less accurate. Rental gun players way outgunned, and therefore quickly exited games. The high quality paintball guns are accurate to within a half foot from 50 feet I'd say. the rental guns not even close to that, so there's simply no way you're going to have a chance against one of those guys one on one. - during team play, once players scattered across field, there was no way to tell who was on your team. many players ended up being shot by teammates. - profanity should not be tolerated, especially from employees. My 12 year old son was exposed to way too much. I heard the f-bomb no less than 20 times during my time here. not cool. easy solutions: 1) if you have a custom weapon (i.e., everyone other than rentals), require them to play on designated fields; 2) you simply cannot have 12 year olds in tshirts subjected to 500fps paintballs. Enforce velocity restrictions on games being played by amateurs and young kids. I took 5 or 6 hits from the "good" guns, and I have 5 or 6 pretty nasty welts to show for it. Thankfully, I didn't see those several guys engaging fire with the young kids. 3) have two different colored helmets, or colored vests, or something so that players know who is on their team 4) profanity should not be tolerated read more

I have never actually played at this field, but I did need some work done on my older marker and was helped beyond my expectations. I brought the gun in after hours and had all the seals changed and looked at. They charged my $15 and the cost of the rings, about $2.50. Very quick and very nice people. Had my son's birthday party there. I called ahead and the lady was most helpful in explaining how it worked. However, checking in was great, but when we went to get the guns and facemasks the refs were a little confusing about how it worked on the fields. However, once we played one game, we got the gist of it. We'll be back!! My daughter now wants to plan her birthday there, and it's in Nov. so it will be much cooler! read more

The kid handing out the equipment is too busy to help you. He's real important, doesn't have time for you. The place was helpful once. So then we get on the field and the kid referee just took our new kids out there for a birthday party and paired them with a bunch of older teens to make sure THEY got more playing time. This place use to be good for ALLl level of players... now it's just for paintball wannbe professionals. So, we ask the manager about them playing with kids that are at the same age/ exp because we had some who had never played...(manger made it happen). However, while we were playing later... then mature teen referees were talking smack about the kids that didn't want to play with other kids.. then we are playing on a filed.. the referees don't tell us the rules or boundaries and then throw people out for being out of bounds or not follow the rules... read more

My family and I came here today, SATURDAY, and we showed up right after open with 10 or so other people already here (total of 18-20) and there was only one ref until 10. Most of the guns were ok and the rates were cheapish. This place lost 3 stars because in the 3-4 hours that we were playing, the referees refused to split the group so we could play more than one map. That is ridiculous. I did not pay good money to play the same thing 10 times. I asked the referees multiple times for my group to break off or even to split the group and play something else and they refused. This is not a good place for paintball. I've gone to other paintball places in the area and I would recommend Texas Paintball over Outlaw Paintball hands down. The rates are almost the same, the maps are bigger, and the staff is much nicer. P.s the front desk guys were extremely rude read more
