Sea legs cocktail - light and fresh like a cucumber lemonade vibe but not sweet
    Sally W.

Fun rustic atmosphere. Interesting cocktail list, with about 4 spritz variations. We ended up splitting the shrimp cocktail, riptide and sweet Jesus oysters, and the lobster sliders. Everything looked great. Fries are shoestring and were realllll good! Seems like they have great happy hour deals, also some late night dinner options if you're like us and get caught up chatting after work and realize around 8 that you haven't even thought of food. We will definitely be back!

So thrilled with this find! It's so cozy and down to earth with seafood you would be hard pressed to find at a place with white table clothes. The strawberry Negroni was so unique and delicious. We started with the salmon dip and it was creamy goodness full of the most amazing smoked salmon. The bahn mi was a big cut of fish and very flavorful. The green goddess shrimp roll was a buttery burst of flavor and the Cesar fries upgrade is not to be missed!

One of my favorite spots!! If you're a seafood lover, this will become your favorite too. The oyster options change daily :) oysters are my absolute favorite so I try all of the options. The lobster crabs are great as well. The service is excellent. Very warm, welcoming, and attentive. It is a small place but I haven't been when it was super packed. The music is a great mix of classics which you will enjoy. I will post more pics when I have tried some other food options.

    Char grilled and raw oysters

I will preface this with... I am from New Orleans. This is a beautiful small quaint place with Summer sidewalk seating. I came here for Nat Oyster Day to see what it was all about. The staff was super nice and overwhelmed. The menu was nicely simple. The 'special' char grilled oysters did not appear on the menu (I heard about it on Fox6) . Oyster shooters had great spice but super small oysters that were served on top of the glass. Char grilled had good flavor but the size of the oyster made it a difficult dish to make. The raw selection was three species served with three great choices of condiments but no crackers. My first set came out in cold water instead of ice, no oyster fork/spoon, and none were separated from the shell...I had to wait for some utensils to do it myself. Second set I requested they be separated, and most were (and the ice was not melted). Tried their special mini 'tinis'. The coffee (on tap) was great! The 'vegetable infused' evidently is an acquired taste. ‍. Their bourbon 'tini' was delicious (but small for a full size cocktail). Music was a bit loud for diner conversation. Bathroom was clean and shared with partner venture pub nextdoor . For those from the Gulf States.... Ya ain't at home no more. For those looking for a quaint new lace with delicate oysters and a relaxed meal...this is your place.

It was one of the most special dining experiences we've ever had in Milwaukee. From the moment we walked in, we felt like we entered the home of an Argentinian chef. In fact, you pretty much having Chef Ana as your own personal chef, with her husband Peter also providing some exceptional hospitality. She came up to our table multiple times during the evening to chat with us and ask us how our meal was. It's pretty amazing that she is the sole chef in the restaurant and is able to prepare all the meals while also checking in with patrons regularly. The food was really good. They have two prefix options, and we went with the paella, with an appetizer, dessert and bottle of rosé. Each course felt thoughtfully curated, beautifully presented, and bursting with authentic flavor. The warm staff and intimacy is something unique and different than anything else we've experienced. It's rare to find a place where you can experience both world-class cuisine and the personal touch of the people behind it. FYI, there is a price to be paid for such wonderful food and service. But for a special occasion, it's well worth the money spent and would be right up near the top of my list. Cavas is truly a hidden gem -- If you're looking for a unique dining experience, I recommend you check it out!

Fucking love this place…read more If there is a highly rated small plates place in a location we are visiting, you can count on us to find it. We walked literally thirty minutes to this place from our hotel. It was a lovely walk in early August. We had a 5:45pm reservation on a Thursday (we are old now) and we were seated immediately. Service was excellent. Ok so they have a fantastic cocktail menu. I appreciate any cocktail menu that is more complex than vodka and cranberry juice but this takes it to another level of creativity. I also like how they name them with numbers. It's so much easier to say "I'll have a 42" rather than "I will have a duperbeamerscicle". I started with an "88" with pisco, rose-poached strawberry, amontillado sherry, verjus, rose port, and pink peppercorn. Served in a highball glass and garnished with berries. Very refreshing. GF started with the "91" mezcal, passion fruit, poblano, pineapple, amaro, lime. Gorgeous and chic. Very strong, smoky flavor. When in Rome, so the cheese plate did not feel like an option. Four fantastic cheeses were served with very tasty candied nuts, some jam business, grapes, and some of the best bread I have had on a cheese plate. Thick, soft, and fluffy. Paired absolutely perfectly with cheese. Only complaint is that I wish there was more of it. I haven't had deviled eggs in a minute so I went wild and also had the chili crisp deviled eggs which were SPECTACULAR. I also got the Egyptian fried cauliflower which is served on a smear of harissa and lemon tahini. Very flavorful. Star of the show tbh was the tagliatelle with squash, tomato, these fried cheese crisps. The noodles were al dente and SO GOOD in such a wonderful sauce. GF also got the steak, she says "very good seasoning". I helped her out with the kimchi pancake. Wonderful. Such a great sauce. For our second round of dranks we both went with the "77" makrut lime vodka, tamarind, bird's eye chili, cilantro, lime, lemongrass. Very tamarind forward. Very unique. I can see why it's our server's favorite drink on the menu. The desserts looked really good (something with sticky rice I think it was a cocktail and a bread budding that looked fantastic) but we just weren't feeling it.

Our bartender was incredibly friendly, charismatic, and genuinely passionate about the menu. He took the time to explain dishes, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Every dish we ordered was outstanding. The deviled eggs were easily our favorite and are an absolute must-order. We also loved the flatbread with fiddleheads, which featured a delicious curry-inspired flavor that reminded us of an Indian dish. My husband couldn't stop talking about the bread pudding and said it was one of the best desserts he's had. Everything we tried was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. If we lived in Milwaukee, Odd Duck would absolutely become one of our regular spots. We can't wait to come back the next time we're in town.

The owners run the whole operation, from the hosting, serving, cooking, and cleaning. You don't see that anymore. The waitress (owner) was incredibly friendly and talked to us during our stay about the history of the restaurant and the ingredients of the menu items. She attended us like a mother would, tenderly and with genuine care. All items we ordered were outstanding. The scallops were like butter, the homemade paste melted in your mouth. Even the homemade French salad dressing was so spectacular that I jokingly asked for a bottle to take home and the waitress brought me a container full of it at no charge. There was no room for dessert but overall what started as an odd experience turned into an excellent adventure through time with amazing food. Don't judge a book by its cover. While the Xiao Long Bao is quite good, it is not great principally because the dumpling wrappers are twice as thick as the best versions of this dish making them chewier and very doughy. They are also so large you cannot enjoy them in a single bite and inevitably need a small bowl for leakage as you're eating them because you will make such a mess. Naturally, you want the ball so you can drink the broth that ends up in it. The Szechuan Spicy Wontons have a wonderful seasoning and sauce, but frequently are overcooked so the wrappers are a little too soft and mushy. I prefer them slightly al dente. The Salt and Pepper Chicken is consistently the best executed dish I've had there. Also known as Taiwanese, popcorn chicken, these bite-size lean pieces of chicken are perfectly fried and satisfying crispy. We were both surprised with how much we liked each sampling in our Sake Flight -- $12 (5oz) they went from dry to sweet as you would expect, and our biggest surprise was how much we liked the sweetest variety. Here are the three that were a part of our flight Kenbishi Kuromatsu, Gekkeikan Traditional, & Moonstone Coconut Lemongrass Nigori. An additional note, the service is generally exceptional, but the hostess stand tends to treat you as a customer to be processed not a guest to be welcomed. The interior is very basic. The tables are comfortably spaced by distance, but the bench seating is too crowded. Getting up to use the restroom feels like you're on an airplane where you're uncomfortably close to other diners.
