Not a fan of the customer service here at all. Bought a new sourin air plus device that apparently was defective. The device immediately started burning brand new pods (I'm not an idiot I know to let the juice soak) and when I go to take it in hoping for some kind of help the employees who DONT EVEN VAPE tell me that the reason is because I was using a nic level that was too high. 35mg is not too high i had the same device for almost 6 months and used the same product the entire time no isssues sso I know for a fact they are wrong. The dude gave me a pod with a salt nic that was 10 mg totally convinced that was my problem so I just left with my shitty broken vape. Threw away my reciept since they obviously weren't going to do anything to help me now I can't even use my warranty which is on me but I'm pretty irritated that I spend 60+ dollars for a broken device and juice i can't even use now. I work in customer service myself and don't like leaving bad reviews but this place failed me along with the extremely unhelpful and uncaring employees. Honestly some bullshit and I'll be telling everyone I know to go somewhere else. read more

One of my only favorite smoke shops in North County. Inner Limits used to be my go to when I didn't know about these guys, but the prices here vs at Inner is just far out this world! The staff is always friendly and very engaging with their customers and that's a plus! Tried to return a vape pen that was purchased the day before. After charging the pen over night, it wasn't holding a charge so I decided to return it the next day. Once I got there they told me I needed a receipt or if I could tell them who helped me. I told them that they never gave me a receipt and proceeded to show them the charge on my bank account on my phone. They said I needed to talk to the manager who wasn't even on site for the weekend. I shared a few choice words about selling broken products and how their customer service was lacking and I left. After wasting my time and money, I will now have to dispute the charge with my bank. I would recommend shopping elsewhere. read more

This place is horrible. Middle school kids are more knowledgeable than the people that work in this place. I often have to wait and interrupt the employees talking so I can actually buy something. It is a sad state of affairs my 55 year old ass knows more than the employees. I bought a bong that was clearly flawed and broke with a very clear break that it seems like someone must have broken it before and then it was glued or something back together. Even the employees said it was clearly flawed. The rude old lady said she could sell me another one for 40% off? The only reason this place is still open is because this area does not have any competitors. This place would not last 15 min in Los Angeles. I wish only the worst for this place. Not to mention their false advertising saying these things are made in the USA. Only a tiny little counter in the back of the store has American made pipes and bongs. These of course are 3x the price because they probably do not have toxens and poisons like their other glass made by children in sweatshops in China. Honestly I'm just so disappointed. I bought a hookah there and it's absolutely horrible. It doesn't hit well, it's super wobbly, and it almost broke multiple times. I called to ask if I can bring it back and get a different one in case maybe the one I got just wasn't a good one and the lady who answered the phone was super rude and told me no. I have gotten water pipes here that were faulty and they told me to bring them in. I came in 20 minutes later and they told me the owner wasn't there and there was nothing they could do. However someone could have done something because I have seen my homie go in there he was short on buying backwoods and seriously tell them"you know how much stuff I buy here" before they cut the price for him. They consistently sold the same friend tobacco and water pipes when he was under age and they had a copy of his resume with his birthdate on file but wouldn't sell to my friend who was over 18 and had a military Id. Oceanside is a military town, I don't get why you would every do something like that. Maybe it was because he want spending enough cash. I say that because one day I went in there to buy a water 120$ pipe with flowers in my hand(pretty recognizable I would say) but then when I come In the next day to get some papers and a hand pipe they tell me they don't remember me and card me but I didn't have my I'd on me because I was just in there and didn't get carded the day before. They even asked me what I was buying and when they found out it was only a hand pipe and papers they told me they couldn't do it. Also Oceanside has a big latino population, it shocks me they would have trump support so out and open. Great selection of products, but it's a hit or miss depending who is staffing. Came for a replacement part on my MicroG Pen, but sent some one else to get it for me. Once I got it delivered to me, I had found out it was the wrong part. Went to the store, even brining my pen, and showed them how it didn't fit Even while it was directly in front of them, they argued that it did- if you didn't screw it in all the way and were careful. And that I wouldn't be able to put my mouth piece over it- sort of rendering it useless. They then offered that I replace it with a new version of the same piece, or take the one I already had (refunds were not on the table). Mitigating my loss, I took a new one rather than taking the original- though there was no difference at all. Very unimpressed with that. That being said, there is a large selection of glass, papers, and other smoke shop novelties. Probably the most for this area. If you know exactly what you need, and see it, it's a great place for that. Just not a great place for tips or advice. Despite my first experience, I have returned and continue to do so from time to time. This place is a glass museum. Biggest selection I've ever seen. Lots of Hookahs and cleaning pipes/supplies, too. Come to think of it, a LOT of other stuff as well. Very big selection. On a more relevant note, they stock every flavor of Starbuzz Hookah Tobacco. This stuff is the best ever, and it's a slight bit cheaper than anywhere else I've found. Their coal selection blows though as the only coals I really have found to work effectively are the wider non-standard circular ones and they didn't have any of those. Don't go in expecting good customer service, knowledgeable staff, or any kind of decent exchange policy. Seems like it's mostly younger kids who work there. read more

Another awesome place. It's a 420 paradise. Unbelievable products and customer service. Purchased 3 items and I've of the items were left out. I called when I got to where I was going and discovered the issue. They were able to determine who I worked with and transferred the phone to Joan. I explained what happened and she immediately remembered me! She found the third item and I said I'd be in the next day. Got there shortly after they opened. Thought it was going to be hell getting the morning personnel to know who I am and why I was there. Well, Joan made it clear who I was to everyone to my surprise! Once the clerk recognized who I was, he discussed it with the owner. The owner knew of the item and had it ready for mail the following business day. She went in the back got it and without hesitation, handed it to me. I broke an item I purchased the same evening and asked if I could exchange the item I left behind to replace the item dropped. Whoever called OL a "glass museum" was spot on. Wall to wall and basically floor to ceiling is adorned with glass pipes. It's a tad overwhelming for me but the selection is good and the prices are generally reasonable. You'll pay quite a lot more for something that's made local. I've been in several times and the employees, while young, are pretty helpful. I'm no expert on quality vs. crappy glass but the particular girl who helped me seemed to know her stuff. My 4 stars are for the wide selection and good customer service. read more

Horrible customer service! The young Asian guy behind the counter took his sweet time walking over to help me. Then he mumbles under his breath, "what can I get for you?" I ask him the cost of the bugler rolling tobacco and he kept grabbing different brands. I speak very clearly and loud so I don't know if this kid was stoned or what but he needs to get the wax out of his ears. Then I find out the can of bugler is $43. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and AWFUL store policies!!!!!! I recently purchased a G-pen Vaporizer from Outer Limits (whom I've done business with in the past, with no issues) and had a HORRIBLE experience with them! I WON'T be going back, ever. Customer service is AWFUL and they do not stand behind their customers if any products sold are broken and/or do not work. You will get NO refund or exchange, even if you have your receipt and come back within 2 weeks of purchase. How can anyone run a business like this??? I bought the whole package (incl extra cylinder, jars, etc) which was about $100 for my boyfriend for Christmas; the salesgirl showed me very quickly how to use it and I was on my way. Well, when he opened it on Christmas and we tried it out, it did NOT work the way the salesgirl had showed me. In fact, after looking at instructions and videos online on how to use it, we learned that it was just broken. Unfortunately, we were out of town on a trip and had no way of going back to Outer Limits to return it. Once we got back into town, my boyfriend immediately took the pen back to the store with the receipt and showed the salesman (who barely spoke English) what was going on with it. He immediately said, 'Oh yea, it's broken." He went to the back and got a new heating coil to replace the one that he said was broken, and the pen worked perfectly. He then told us it was OUR fault that it was broken, that we had done something to it, and my boyfriend laughed and said, no it NEVER worked, even when we first took it out of the box, had NOTHING in it, and tried to get the coil to heat up. My boyfriend asked to talk to the manager, who was on her cell phone. He let her know he needed help, and then waited for her to get off. She looked at him, acknowledged this, but never got off the phone. Finally once he'd been waiting for quite a while and he asked for help again, she kept the phone to her ear and asked how she could help. Again, barely speaks English. She said the same thing - no refunds, no exchanges, even if it was product defect and purchased broken, the customer had a receipt, and brought it back within 2 weeks of purchase. RIDICULOUS!!!! And she was VERY rude, almost smirking at points when he was talking to her. So in the end, they charged my boyfriend another $50 for a new coil after having already paid $100 for a BROKEN item from them. I will never shop here again. read more

They practically have anything smoking and vaping related. They have walls and walls of glass bongs, pipes, etc. It's beautiful. A must go to place if you consider yourself a real smoker or pot head. Bought some salt nicotine juice, cotton candy flavor, from a brand called pod juice. Here's where it gets scummy. Printed on the box are TWO labels claiming that the juice is not only "smooth," but "special super smooth." Now there are other liquids out there that burn just fine & no where on those bottles does it boast about being deliciously suckable. Shop is full of yummy stuff & the one older employee with cancer is a dope guy. BUT I can't get past the fact I spent 20$ for fire in my throat. Dragging my stick actually feels like I'm consenting to lighting a fiery inferno in my throat, totally not healfy. I have only been here once. While visiting the area I broke my pipe, so we came here to replace it. The staff were really nice, and I was really impressed with the selection and prices. We definitely don't have any shops with that kind of selection in the Bay Area. Sad to see that people have had bad customer service experiences. The lady who helped me was really nice, she showed me a few pieces, and when I picked out the one I liked, she knew of the same exact one with a nicer bowl a few shelves away, so I bought that one instead. Decent sized shop in a great location. They have EVERYTHING. Any kind of glass you could possibly desire, scales, bags, incense and lots of paper/blunt variety. Prices are a little high, but I guess that to be expected given it's so close to the beach. They're usually pretty busy. I'd say about half the time I've been there, I had to ask for help rather than have it offered. All in all a good place to go. read more

Since the only real review on this location is from Mike G. and since he is from San Francisco, here is a real review on Outer Limits written from a local. I have driven by this place a lot and finally, I came in here yesterday. I came trying to find a nice small and easy hookah for a party that I am going to. I did not expect what was going to happen next when I walked into the store. I was so amazed with everything that was going on. There was so much glass everywhere in the store!! When you first walk in, it is kind of hard to move around cause there seems to a lot of their products on rack right there in the front of the store. When finally moving all past that, you enter a glass wonderland. Water pipes, hookahs, cigars, tobacco, zig zags, cleaning tools, and cleansing products all for your amazing slights to see. They have a small selection of hookahs, but they also had a small little sign when I went saying that if you bought a hookah from them, they gave free tobacco and coals with purchase. the hookahs at this location are a little pricey, but with free tobacco and coals, you might give in too. on the other side of the store, are your glass water pipes. everything you could ever think of is here. unlike inner world, this location has all pieces on their pipes, but are inner world, each case display for their pipes are priced by the case, which makes things really easy if you are looking to stay within a certain price range. also, don't come here expecting to find excellent service. it took me about 10 minutes of walking around and looking before a punky looking girl who was eating cheetos came up to me licking her fingers clean to help me. this location is big and has a wonderful selection of products, but their employees here are younger, don't card you for age, and dropping f-bombs like there's nothing wrong. lastly, they do have their own parking lot in the front, but it is enough to maybe fit 3 or 4 cars. and if you are going to bring someone who is in a wheelchair, you can enter, just be careful of the really bad potholes in the parking lot. haha read more

It's pretty obvious that the people working here don't care about their jobs or the people coming in to spend money. I've been coming to outer limits for over 8 years because of the reliable selection. The staff has never been amazing but never one I'd complain about either. However, the last few times we've gone in I have left with a bad taste in my mouth. More often than not at least one of the employees has a buddy hanging around just chatting. So you can count that one out for any help. There's usually one person actually working ringing people up. Another standing behind the big square in the middle area when you first walk into space and usually another hiding from customers somewhere behind the counters. You have to hunt for help here. And then today, we go in and buy an ecig battery. No instructions given, just forked over $30 and out the door. We take it home, charge it for a couple of hours and then can't get it to work. So, in a hurry before leaving for an event we rush back to try to exchange it. We explain to the guy behind the counter our problem, hand it to him, he presses the button 5 times and it turns on. Now isn't that something we should have been told when we purchased it? No apologies, no nothing. Over the years, I've spent quite a bit in the shop and so have many of my friends and family...I will encourage them to go other places from now on as service is still important to some of us. read more
