After driving 4.5 hours on basically no sleep after working all night, I was starving and desperately needed a good meal. Checked into the hotel and realized there was an Outback right nearby, which honestly felt meant to be. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. I ordered the filet topped with the lemon garlic shrimp and WOW. The filet was perfectly tender, the shrimp and sauce were absolutely delicious, and I even asked for extra lemon garlic sauce to save for my baked potato later because it was that good. My daughter got the sirloin with the coconut shrimp and loved hers too. And of course I had to get the adorable drink with the little rubber ducky in it because it made me smile immediately. I usually love this location. My sons like to eat here on their birthdays. So, I took my family here to eat on Christmas Eve. We were seated at a spacious table. I hadn't been out to eat in 5 weeks due to knee surgery, so I looked forward to this! Ordered the trio appetizer. The sticks and cheese fries were good, but the onion petals were not warm. I ordered a 36 dollar filet mignon topped with shrimp. The filet came without shrimp and the baked potato had very little toppings. I asked for the shrimp and some extra toppings for the potato so it wouldn't be too dry to eat. It was frustrating to have to ask for something that should have been included. The most surprising part were the burgers. We ordered two. They look nothing like the menu. The meat was mushy although it was cooked. My son noticed it too and couldn't eat his. The waitress took it off the bill and offered to get him something else. We paid for an 11 dollar sundae in place of the burger. I didn't want to make a scene so I just asked about the odd burger texture. She said that they had changed meat vendors. I'm finished for a while with Outback. My mom, sister and I decided to go outback for a meal since we hadn't been together in while. This place did not disappoint. Our apps of choice was kookaburra wings medium extra crispy and a small order of loaded fries. The apps came out and they were hot and delicious! The customer service was amazing. Our waitress waited for us to be near finished before she put in our entrees. Which was the lobster tail dinner, ribeye with a delicious chimicurri and I had a crock of chili and side salad. My mom had two Michelob Ultras but for me the bell of the ball was one of the Spring drink specials the Wallaby Darned regular and another Wallaby Darned down under with raspberry SVEDA, which the manager suggested it was absolutely delightful. When the food came in it was mostly overcooked which is interesting because i had asked medium rare but it was so tough and did not end up eating it all. Couldn't order another since it would take probably another hour to get. The bread was pretty good but not on the same level as Texas Roadhouse or cheesecake. The cheesecake was decent enough but not mind blowing. Then the baked potato soup was probably the star of the show. The environment i would say is nice. We haven't dined in at this restaurant because the reviews are so bad. However, we've had gift cards for a while so we decided to go with low expectations. We were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and we enjoyed our food. I ordered the sirloin and Lobster tail special. My hubby ordered the sirloin and ribs. Both of us also had loaded baked potatoes and house salads. My kids ordered kids meals and actually liked them. The bread was warm and fresh. No complaints. I will add that we arrived a little before 5 on a Friday. We'll be back. Today is Veteran's Day. I want to first say that tonight's visit was both positive and negative. First our server and food were outstanding however the evening ended on a bad note. First today is Veteran's Day and my wife and I brought my son here for dinner. He is in the Army and wanted to partake of the free meal for veteran's so we waited and were seated at 7:15 p.m. When we were seated we were informed that the only steak on the menu free for veteran's was the 6 oz sirloin which they were out of. My son wanted steak so we purchased an 11 oz steak since the manager was not willing to do anything else. The 11 oz was $24 and the manager would not honor the normal 10% military discount since they ran out of the smallest steak before 7 p.m. They advertised a 10% discount for the entire check in addition to the free meal and again the manager would not honor it. This says that Outback Corp was trying to honor our veteran's and the manager of this location was not willing to do so. Seems petty to not give a member of our military a 10% discount on his dinner he had to pay full price for when he was supposed to get a free meal on this one day. It had been at least two years since I had been to one of these restaurants, and location was close to her house. Actually the last time that I had steak was when I came here, again years ago. After spending a little time with the menu, I decided to order the ribeye 13 ounce steak which included two sides. I went for the Caesar salad and Aussie fires for the two sides. My Mom chose the classic prime rib steak with French noon soup and the side garden salad. She elected to her steak to be cooked medium rare. Decided to check outback after looking at the deals online. With a good range of options and delicious food, I give this location a 3 star! Great deals : They offer six-dollar cocktails all day long and the free bread will satisfy your carb craving! They also have steak entrees under $16 (Which is the real deal!) Shout out to the cooks! Here is what brings down the score : We went on a Saturday evening and sat at the bar. The two bartenders were very busy and a bit frantic. They kept forgetting to check up on us and we're running around like chickens with their heads cut off. It was a bit annoying to see that they were not versed in the art of multitasking and bartending. I had to ask for bread multiple times and they were the opposite of friendly. I asked about the 10 entrees under the $16 deal I saw online and they looked at me like I was crazy! The slow service made it difficult to catch a buzz and I waited around a while for food and drinks! I haven't been compelled to write a Yelp review in awhile, but this is the second time in the past 2 months I've had a lousy experience at this Outback, so here I am. First off, I'd like to say that I'm a long time Outback fan, including this location. Prior to Covid, service was great, I was always asked if my steak came out cooked properly and if I answered anything less than yes it's perfect, a manager would come over to apologize and offer to comp it. This was always way more than was necessary and certainly more than I would ever ask, but it shows an example of the level of service given. Fast forward to these past two visits and service has been awful. My servers on each visit have been nonexistent. Tonight our server never even offered or brought drink refills - we had to ask the food runner for our one and only refill. As for the food, the bloomin' onion is about half the size it used to be. It was like this on my last visit before tonight's too, and I thought maybe it was a fluke, but nope, I got served the same sad, small onion as last time. I'm unsure without visiting other locations if this is unique to this location, or some shrinkflation across all Outback's. There also way too much pepper in the steak seasoning on the steaks making them pretty unenjoyable, as well. Outback is low-key one of my fav spots to hit up on a Saturday afternoon with the fam! Truth be told, I usually pop in every time a new seasonal menu is introduced. This visit was no exception. It may be one of the few times you can walk in and get seated immediately, after all timing is everything. The shrimp were big and plump, chicken was seasoned to epic perfection and the sauce was creamy and dreamy. Which was perfect because I do not like a soupy sauce. All the flavors and ingredients married well together creating a perfect dish. The steak and lobster dish was a winner as well. Steak cooked to asked perfection and the lobster tail was the perfect companion to this land and sea combo. Oh wait, did I mention skip that seasonal drink, I forget what is was but you could taste it was mass produced in a large batch for the day and all I had in my glass was mix, like the kind you can pull off the shelf at the local grocer. Our server was kind enough to offer to replace it but I was soured so I opted for that good old staple, ice tea lol. The restaurant was clean, service was great, so glad they hold the door for you on the way out!! I was stuffed, the door may have been to heavy at that point, lol. They do have a reward programs, Dine Rewards, that's not well advertised but it does render discounts via email and you can snag 50% off after your 4th visit. The wings at outback are ALWAYS a hit for me. They are always served PIPPING HOT and crispy. I love them for that because there's nothing worse than soggy wings. I tried the new Toowoomba Salmon & I love that you can choose your temp. on the salmon I got it cooked MR W/ extra toowoomba sauce. It was pretty good! Deserves a little more seasoning but it was good. Now after I took it home *ate too many wings * added some seasoning and threw it in the air fryer the next day chileeeeee NEXT LEVEL! Garbage! Consistently garbage!! This used to be a quality restaurant. There used to be consistency of quality of their food, that is LONG GONE! Don't ask for a special request either. They'll screw it up or ignore it all together. Outback, you used to cut your cucumbers in a specific way, not anymore. The salad used to be green, now its bottom of the barrel crap iceberg lettuce, more often than not its white or yellow "lettuce". Nothing nutritional about it. Let's talk steak. The quality of your steaks isn't worth the price being asked. It's consistently full of gristle, even the filet. Had a sirloin last night and the entire 8 oz. steak was one big fatty piece of gristle! It wasn't edible. Outback used to be a name brand you could count on for quality. Long gone are those days.
