Came here with my family for the first time and overall had a great experience. We were seated right away, the restaurant was clean, well lit, and had a comfortable vibe. Our waiter, Christian, was excellent. Friendly, patient, personable, and genuinely helpful. His recommendations were on point and definitely elevated the meal. I ordered the 15 oz Delmonico steak with garlic butter on the side, mac and cheese, and a loaded baked potato with bacon, sour cream, and chives. The steak was the star. Flavorful, savory, perfectly cooked, and a great portion size. The baked potato was also very good and cooked just right. The mac and cheese had great flavor and a nice peppery kick, which I loved, but unfortunately it was not hot. To be fair, none of the mac and cheese that came to the table was hot. For drinks, I had the Gingerbread Martini. Sweet, smooth, and not too strong, which worked perfectly. It even came with a gingerbread cookie that melted into the drink and made it even better. At the table we also had the 6 oz filet mignon with lobster tail, which was very good, and the Kingsland Pasta. My daughter said her steak was incredibly tender and called the pasta out of this world. We also shared the Down Under Trio Platter. The fried mozzarella Bloomerangs were delicious, the Aussie cheese fries were very good, and the Bloomin' Onion petals were my least favorite but still solid. Overall, everything was good. My only real critiques were that the mac and cheese was not hot and some dishes leaned a bit salty. That said, we would absolutely come back. Next time, I'm eyeing the Kookaburra Wings, 20 oz bone-in ribeye, chimichurri filet, homestyle mashed potatoes, seasoned rice, Tasmanian chili, blue cheese wedge salad, baked potato soup, Bloomin' Burger, and definitely dessert like the Chocolate Tower for Two or Chocolate Thunder From Down Under. read more

I feel a little silly rating Outback two-stars because realistically, how many are you gonna give it? Why bother rating it at all? Well, it had been over a decade since I had been to Outback, but I had a gift card, so I dropped by for lunch. First off, the stars are earned by the wonderful staff. They were truly welcoming and kind, and I honestly don't know how they can remain that good-natured working at a chain restaurant because I'm sure they see their fair amount of bullshit. I ordered a Cobb Salad with grilled chicken and Ranch dressing. It was perfectly tasty for what it was, but it was absolutely drowning in dressing. Luckily, they hadn't really stirred it up, so I could avoid the areas that were flooded with dressing to an extent. It was still too much dressing though. The food here is not great. The blooming onion was soaked in oil and very greasy. I had a house salad and my husband had the Caesar salad. Those were actually good. I ordered the ribeye steak. It was very highly seasoned and ruined the flavor of the steak. The salmon that my husband ordered was over cooked and dry. I had the mixed vegetables. The squash was a bit mushy and the carrots were too hard. My husband had the broccoli and it was almost raw. The service was not very good. The server did not refill any of the soft drinks. I never have a bad time at outback! The food always satisfies and this time around I had the steak and shrimp Alfredo dish! Our waitress provided great service and the drinks were stellar! My mom loves this place and food, so this time of year we traditionally dine in or get to go orders. It always amazes me how busy this establishment is because I personally think it's okay but apparently there are people who love this place (my mom). I must admit, the blooming onion gets its praise because it has been consistent for decades. I normally don't like red meat but I usually feel compelled to order it from here, especially when surf and turf options are available. The cleanliness is a bit hit or miss depending on how busy they are (don't expect it to be clean if they are busy) but the servers represent CT very well. We love outback and order from this specific location somewhat often - at least once a month. The last few months the service and the quality of our orders has gone really downhill though. I ordered food for delivery today. We often order the grilled chicken off of the kids menu, and the size of chicken is usually a typical size chicken breast. Today it was half of what it normally is. To add to that, as we were using the bbq sauce I found a piece of plastic wrapper in it! I wish I could say that this was just an isolated incident at this location. But it's not. The last time we ordered, about 2 weeks ago, they forgot to add a side of fries with one of the meals. My husband who was picking up the order went inside to tell them this. A manager came out and told him it was in the bag. He explained that it wasn't, he checked and had even brought the bag of food in with him to show them it was missing, and the manager accused him of having it in the car! Really? He had to keep arguing with him to get the side of fries. The server who was working apologized for the manager and said he was having a bad day. I try not to rate places low for isolated small mistakes. I know mistakes will happen with orders, but unfortunately this is becoming a recurring problem with this location. There are so many other stories over the last few months I could share of similar incidents of forgotten items, inconsistent portions sizes, hair in my food, poor customer service, etc. Will our family order from here again? At first when we walked in it was very cold and dark.Then the blooming onion came out late even though there was not many people there. The waitress was not very enthusiastic or attentive. Unfortunately after a poor takeout experience where the manager sent me gift cards, I decided to try Outback again and was given a horrific attitude by Ben at the bar. Clearly they were overworked, but the attitude he gave us, and his peers really made it a bad experience. None of the food runners could figure out where the meals go, you could hear a constant confusion as to who around the bar had what orders. We had to ask for place settings and a menu. The other bartender Mike was fantastic and really helped turn things around. Our steaks were delivered less then 5 mins after our salad and soups, so of course by the time we ate them they were over cooked. Fuel on the fire, it turned out the gift cards were expired by a few months, which we didn't realize until sitting down. Quite frankly we would have gone elsewhere if we had known. Not to mention after asking Ben if we could use them he never answered until the other bartended asked after thinking we could. A valued classic. I have been going to this Outback Steakhouse for several years now, having eaten many a Spotted Dog Sundae for a birthday here, creating eternal memories. I can't attest to service or ambiance nowadays, as the pandemic made it very hard to eat in, but the pickup service is fairly prompt and exact. Super Special props for being able to pick up a Cold Spotted Dog Sundae with extra Oreo crumbs and molten hot fudge. I will say that the serving sizes have been decreasing marginally over the years, as the sizes of the steaks don't look proportionally right, there are not enough chicken tenders for the kids, and even the Mac-a-Roo & Cheese comes in a small bowl (and not even the classic gooey penne style). 8/10, bring back the classic penne style Mac-a-Roo & Cheese and fix serving sizes, then we'll talk read more

My Wife and I have been longtime customers. We stopped after resuming going there after Covid because of a very bad experience. Outback corporate tried to get us to come back, sending us $200 in gift cards. My Wife and I gave them to the local Norwalk Fire and Police depts. She would not go back. Today, she said yes. We got there at about 5:30. Maybe 5 people in the entire place. I only go for the Prime Rib. I asked our Server to take her time with the food. I dislike having my soup, salad, and Steak served together. She did that. At about 6:50, a different Server came with my Prime Rib. He looked down at the plate in his hand, and said it was cold. He was going to get me another Prime Rib. I thought that was very thoughtful. After 5 minutes, the Manager came over and said there were no more Prime Ribs left. This was at 7pm. I said, if someone comes in for the next 2 hours and orders Prime Ribs, they aren't getting any? She said correct. None left at 7pm. I asked if my steak was the only 1 in the house, because you can't even order 1 till 4pm. She apologized again, offered to comp what we ate already, my Wife only had an Appetizer. I had 2 beers, a salad and soup, and she offered $40 in gift certificates and a free Bloomin Onion for our never happening next visit. I contacted Corporate again, who again offered gift certificates. Looks like the Fire and Police will be getting free meals, if they choose to go. Been here a lot over the past 4 years and the food is not always consistent. The steaks are good and the bloomin onion is a must-try. The sauce that it comes with is very yummy! The ahi tuna salad is very good and usually the dressing is light and fresh tasting, however the most recent time I got that, the dressing was super overpowering, like they added way too much horseradish. We have always been happy with the service we received. The manager usually makes his way around every table checking on people-he didn't get to us last time, but we saw him making his rounds which shows that he cares about what his customers think. So this restaurant has gone through some changes. The last time I was there about a month ago it was chaos. Bartender was lost and the food was not up to normal standards.
