Chris was our waiter - fantastic guy whom we have known for years in the industry. We started with cocktails - the place looks great, the waiters are all dressed in uniform and are extremely skilled and well-mannered. It was 5 friends meeting after a few years not seeing each other - we were extremely loud but were tolerated. Cocktails and other libations were flowing and precisely poured. If you are a macho man like the late great Randy Savage - this place has got some amazing meat! Get your choppers ready to chew! Porterhouse for 3 but split it only 2 ways? Yes, please! I had the double-bone pork chop with a side of rigatoni. One of our friends had filet butterflied medium. The appetizers were huge, fresh, delicious, and enough to share, which we did. This place is 5 stars all around - I highly recommend!

Best olives I've ever tasted!

Came here for my besties birthday dinner. The restaurant is very clean and beautiful. The service was great! We started off with the lemon pepper shrimp - white wine, garlic, and fresh lemon juice. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, and it was good. I just wish it had more flavor. We all ordered the filet mignon. My steak was cooked perfectly, and the flavors were there! Unfortunately, they mixed up my friend's steaks! We ordered 2 sauces for our steaks, the port wine, and the mushroom. I found them to be very sweet. I didn't want the other sauces because I personally don't think they go well with steak. I wish they had a sauce with some zing, but again, that's my opinion. We ordered garlic mash, asparagus, and sautéed onions for our sides. The potatoes were good, I just didn't prefer the chunks of garlic in them. The asparagus was good but could have used some flavor, and I really enjoyed the onions. Overall, we had a great experience and evening.

A bit of a delayed review! I'm not really a big meat eater but I had heard a lot of good things about Blackstones! Thankfully they have something for everyone! I came in here with two co-workers on a Monday evening (back in the times of normalcy) and we were seated right away. The menu is very extensive and has a lot of great seafood choices in addition to the meat. To start out with, we got the Tuna Tartare, Clams with white wine sauce (special that night), Escargot, and Clams Casino (accidentally given to us but was my favorite!). They definitely put a lot of effort into the presentation but the taste also lives up! For my main course, I got the Branzino. After all those appetizers, I was already pretty full so I had about half of this yummy lemon-y dish and the rest for dinner the next day. I love the lemon and caper sauce, that's always a favorite. This spot is definitely more on the expensive side and has a very upscale vibe. Definitely recommend it for any special occasion!

Tomahawk, Mac and cheese

Came in and ordered a tomahawk for 2, it was burned tasted bitter, and most of all I question if they even sprinkled any salt/pepper. Fired calamari was good could have been more crispy, but it was okay. All the side dishes was good, wish their steak could have any form of flavor.

Sea bass $38

Came with a work team (7) to this fine establishment and we all really enjoyed our food. I would say the only thing a bit run of the mill was the calamari on the appetizer selections. We also had oysters, and back bacon for starters. It was all fresh tasting and delicious. For the main meal, I had the chilean sea bass, I got to try the bone in Rib Eye which was an exceptionally well cooked piece of meat. A gigantic cut. The place is really old school decor, and that might be holding it back. It looks like something out of a 1950's movie, but it is very clean and the service we received from Jason I believe was just exceptional. Food was rushed out of the kitchen by a team, and everything seemed of the highest food quality. It's pricey so it needs to be top shelf food and it is. We also ordered some great wines, and this place has an excellent selection of wines. The table ordered a very nice (and yes expensive) Napa Valley Cabernet and the maitre'd decanted the wine for us. A nice touch. Desserts too are quite common offerings and they do offer espresso drinks as well. This is very much a first quality, full service steak house, with good fish selections as well. Top shelf comfort food, loosen your pants, before you go in.

Tiramisu. I couldn't resist, so I took a bite before snapping a photo.

Food is usually excellent but I prefer a steak medium rare and it was very rare. An upscale steakhouse should get that wrong.

Food was not very good. It actually tasted frozen. Actually was quite disappointing, especially since we spent. $115/pp.

Popular menu items include birria tacos, octopus, shrimp ceviche, and steak chimichurri. My daughter and I visited here for her birthday, and we both love Latin cuisine. As we walked in, we were greeted warmly and shown to our seats immediately. It was a chilly day, and the restaurant felt cold inside as well. The staff tried to warm things up with space heaters, but they didn't quite do the trick. We ordered empanadas, birria tacos, hanger steak, and sweet plantains with crema and queso fresco. When the dishes arrived, they were lukewarm--a bit disappointing, considering how cold it was outside. The birria tacos were delicious, though again, they could have been hotter. The meat was tender and well-seasoned, but I would have liked it a bit crisper. The hanger steak was tender, and the Pico de Gallo was bursting with flavor, pairing perfectly with the steak. It was nicely seasoned and had a good-sized portion. The empanadas were tasty, with flavorful and plentiful meat. The plantains were extremely delicious. The crema and queso fresco helped bring the whole dish together beautifully. The customer service was friendly, but the food could have been hotter; still, the flavors and seasonings were spot-on.

"A birthday dinner that actually felt like one."…read more Sienna Ristorante gets the balance right in a way most places don't. The space immediately stands out with a clean, modern feel that still feels warm, not staged or overly polished. It sets the tone before the food even hits the table. The meal itself followed through. The complimentary bread with oil was simple but done right, soft with a good crust and a clean, flavorful dip. We shared the wild mushroom arancini, and that was the first real standout. Crispy on the outside, rich on the inside, and the sauce was the kind you keep going back to without thinking. It carried the dish. For mains, I went with the wild mushroom pizza, which came out with a well balanced crust and just enough weight from the toppings without feeling heavy. The mushrooms were the focus and they delivered. The honeynut squash ravioli leaned more delicate, slightly sweet, and felt more composed than expected in a good way. Drinks held their own too. The Old Fashioned was clean and steady, while the lychee martini added something lighter and more refreshing to the table. They close the meal with biscotti and limoncello, which already would have been enough, but we added the tiramisu and that was the right call. It rounded everything out without feeling excessive, just a clean finish to a well paced dinner. Service matched the tone of the restaurant, attentive without hovering, and the pacing of the meal felt natural from start to finish. This is the kind of place that feels intentional. Not just good food, but a full experience that actually holds together. Easy to come back to, especially for something worth celebrating.

The chicken was the highlight, crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and really well seasoned. You can tell it was freshly made. The cornbread was also really good, soft, warm, slightly sweet, and even better with the sorghum honey butter. The mac & cheese was great. it was rich, creamy, and felt homemade in the best way. I'm not usually a fan of cole slaw, and this one was a bit watery, I should have asked if I could swap it out. The desserts were a highlight too, the peach empanada was nice and warm, buttery, paired perfectly with the ice cream and icing, and the banana pudding was smooth, classic, and comforting with the nilla wafer crumble and fresh banana. Even my starter arugula lemon vinaigrette salad was delicious. Service was excellent and attentive, and the ambiance is definitely upscale and stylish. Overall, it's on the pricier side, but that feels expected for the quality and setting.

ORIGIN: Chef/Owner Jeff Taibe initially opened Taproot in…read moresuburban Bethel with wife Steph Sweeney (Owner/Manager), but found a good percent of their innovation-seeking customers travel from Connecticut's shoreline to visit. After they became aware of the availability of a large space restaurant in the city of Norwalk, the restaurant migrated to its present spot. LOCATION: The restaurant is in a lively location, with a movie theater across the street and a convenient parking lot in the back. ATMOSPHERE: The space, which is divided by walls into three dining areas, has a "shabby chic" aesthetic and is lit by tall and wide paned industrial windows. EXPERIENCE: I've visited for brunch and Happy Hour with friends who live or work in Norwalk. Chef Taibe is creative and skillful, and I'm forever impressed by the dishes he serves. As a result, it comes as no surprise that the restaurant was recognized as best in Fairfield County during the Connecticut Restaurant Association's 2023 Crazies award ceremony. (Chef Taibe was finalist for best chef in all of the state the very same year.) The pimento cheese starter topped with Benton ham jam (happy hour/dinner) and smoked brisket hash (brunch) highlight how Chef Jeff Taibe transforms and elevates common menu items into ones that are memorable and crave-inducing. TIPS: Adding to the menu variety, specials are available between 5-9 pm as follows: Tuesdays: Burger plus Beer combo ($18); Wednesdays: Seafood discounts and specials; Thursdays: Smoked Prime Rib ($65); Fridays: Fossil Farm Game specials. It appears that walk ins are always seated in bar dining area, regardless of whether the central dining area appears free. If you rather not sit on a high top bench or stool, a reservation is recommended. The restaurant is also accessible via a back parking lot entrance.
