I love me a good steak. I went a little crazy and got the fat 16oz and torrent up. Of course I had it made medium rare, it was juicy and delicious. The service here is flawless. Quick, and always checks on you to ask if everything is ok while your mouth is stuffed full of food. The ambient lighting makes the vibe here very calm and serene.

A light meal at Outback and ordered a few appetizers. The bread is still great but most of the food is just okay.

Great service, very attentive. Food was good. It was a slow day but that worked to our advantage as they were able to focus on us better instead of rushing everything during busy days.

Living in Clairemont my family has come here over the years, even went to an Outback in Japan years ago...it's always been hot or miss... lately with places like Texas Roadhouse, they are giving Outback a run for their money. Went yesterday to meet my mom for an early dinner. She ordered for me so I let her there. She is elderly and was disappointed that because she thought the hostess saw her try and open the door and was struggling but went back to her hostess stand. My med rare steak came out rare, super cold in the middle and so we had to send it back. My mom's steak was med but was well done. Not sure who's in the kitchen but may need more training. We hadn't been in a while because the last time we went we got the prime rib and it tasted awful, super fatty and had a funny taste. That's what we stopped going, that was a couple years ago. Probably won't be a while til we go back. I could probably cook a steak better and cheaper. Def not work the $

Ordered delivery for Father's Day. Victoria Filet with Parmesan Corn (for an additional $3.49). The sticker on top of the container reflected the correct items, however when we opened it, there was a sweet potato inside. I called the restaurant and was transferred three times before the Manager rudely told me I had to contact Grubhub because "it's the driver's responsibility to look in the containers and make sure the order is correct". He took absolutely no responsibility for the incorrect item, though it was clearly the restaurant's error. It's absurd for the Manager to claim the delivery driver should be opening containers and sifting through food to ensure an order is correct, rather than the restaurant being responsible for fulfilling the order properly.

I had a late dentist appointment nearby in Clairemont, so i looked for a place to have dinner near the dental office. I used to work in the area, and I remembered the Outback Steakhouse was there, so I gave it a try. Parking was easy and convenient, as there is a parking lot surrounding the entire building in which the Outback Steakhouse is located. There are two handicapped parking places on one of the sides of the restaurant. I was surprised at how gracious and welcoming was the staff of the restaurant. For example, the hostess saw me coming through the double glass door entrance, and she immediately came over in assisting me with the heavy doors. That was a nice touch. The servers and managers were also very warm and smiling. There is a bar area in the center of the room, and then the dining areas fan out from that space.

Visiting and wanted to go to a steakhouse that was kid friendly, we went in and were seated right away. Our server was a bit busy, we had to wait on drink refills, waited about 15 minutes for him to take our order and he became more attentive once the check was given. Food itself was mid, warm, and not cooked all the way through on one side of the salmon I ordered. However, the steak my husband ordered he said was good- no complaints. Overall, not bad but most likely won't be back or recommend.

A Clairemont Square staple for many years. This fair-to-middling steakhouse sits squat in the middle of the Square, like a slightly red-glowing beacon in the San Diego dusk. All jokey commentary aside--it's not bad, not at all. The best? Not that either, but let's get into the meat of this review already, no pun intended. For the price, Outback Steakhouse is pretty solid. The filet mignon, baked potato, chicken sandwich, and cheeseburger are all pretty solid here! You gotta love the complimentary rye bread and butter, too. The flavor and cook on everything is consistent, and definitely a slight notch above average. That said, this is a franchise chain and obviously they aren't pumping out the top-tier level of steak that you might find at a place like Cowboy Star or Freddy's Chophouse. But it's good for the price, like I said. The service is also consistently really good here. The wait staff and bartenders are all very friendly, welcoming, and show just the right amount of attention--helpful without being overbearing. If you're looking for a quick, good, decently priced meat-forward meal, Outback Steakhouse might be a good option for you.

Steak kebabs with shrimp and pasta

I came here with my son for dinner. This location was on point. The server was kind and attentive. Host welcoming. They sat us right away. The place was clean. I ordered steak kebabs and shrimp pasta. I was skeptical about the pasta but it was really delicious. My son ordered ribeye medium rare. They cooked it to perfection. The Mac and cheese it came with was really good. My son said one the best he had in a steak house. Keep up the good work. We will be back.

I had high hopes considering it's been years since I've visited an Outback Steakhouse. The food just tasted overly salted. The service was not bad. There were plenty of places to sit and it was spacious with booths and tables! I don't think I would come back to this location again.

My food here is salty. The staff is nice though. I won't be coming back. The only thing that made it nice was the steak I ordered.

She surprised us with custom espresso martinis with photos printed on top, which was such an unexpected and hilarious touch and instantly became one of the highlights of the night. It's those little extra things that turn a great dinner into something genuinely memorable. Amazing food, incredible atmosphere, phenomenal service, and an unforgettable night all around. The cocktails, service and food is all really solid but my favorite thing is the old school feel of the design. It's dark, warm and has a nostalgic Rat Pack vibe. We love the black and white photos throughout. Nothing better than meatball Mondays when they serve insanely good meatballs and homemade Bucatini pasta (pic 12). What better to accompany that deliciousness than some signature cocktails. Some of the fam loved the "Fields of Italy." (Pic 3) It's a fresh, crispy champagne cocktail made with vodka, Aperol, St. Germain, strawberry/basil jam, lemon and prosecco. It was perfect for a summer day. I had one of my favs that has been on the menu for a while now called "Party with Elvis." (Pic 5) It starts out like a boss with walnut-infused bourbon, Montenegro (Italian Amaro), tiki bitters, orange bitters and an orange garnish. It's exceptional!!! The last cocktail in the rotation was a traditional Manhattan that always goes perfect with a plate of Italian love (pic 13). It's always classic and the Moe's staff captures it perfectly with Basil Hayden bourbon, Antica sweet vermouth and angostura bitters. If you haven't been to Moe's, you should make the effort because they never disappoint. It's easy to find bright, fancy joints throughout San Diego, but they're an elevated old school gem that's hard to find. If this were the first time, we might understand, things happen and sometimes you have to work shorthanded, but this wasn't the first time, more like 4th or 5th time over a period of several months and every time we come they are clearly understaffed and this place gets packed so it's not like they don't need more people. An entire restaurant is run by 2 servers, seems like maybe the owner and her son, and we could only see 2 kitchen staff working their asses off behind the glassed in kitchen, which likely means no breaks for any staff and everything takes forever. If you don't mind sitting and waiting for your food and drinks, by all means go here. The first time we were almost late for a show because dinner for 4 of us took almost 2 hours. We hope this review might inspire them to expand their staff because the food is delish and we want to keep coming back!

But alas, Carbon Angela's Kitchen deserves every flower, every reservation, every "you have to try this place" text thread, and every bit of love. This place has become one of my absolute favorite hidden gems in San Diego. Easily top five for me, and as someone who dines out a lot for a living, that is not a casual statement. There are places you like, places you recommend, and then there are places that start to feel woven into your actual life. Carbon Angela's Kitchen is that for me. Angela is truly the heart of this place. She has this way of making you feel like you are not just coming in for dinner, but being welcomed into something she deeply cares about. And Emanuele is absolutely part of that magic too. Together, they have built something that feels warm, generous, soulful, and so special. They feel like long-lost friends and family now, and I am honestly just so proud of them and all they are creating. The food is the kind that makes you want to order with the whole table in mind. The griglia mista is hands down one of the best investments you can make if you are dining with a group. It is the meat platter, it is the moment, and it is absolutely worth ordering. Four to five people can split it, especially if you are also doing appetizers, salad, wine, and a few extra things for the table. It is such a perfect nod to what Carbon was before Angela took over, when the space leaned more BBQ, but now it feels beautifully married with Angela's warmth, Italian influence, and the kind of hospitality that makes the whole meal feel like an experience. And please do not sleep on the rest of the menu. The short rib is fire. The arancino trio is always a yes. The eggplant croquette? Obsessed. The crespelle? So good. The Everything Salad is my favorite salad on the menu, and the street corn should never, under any circumstances, be skipped. I said what I said. The wine selection is top tier, the appetizers are memorable, and the whole place has that rare magic of feeling cozy, intentional, and completely unpretentious. You can come for a low-key dinner, a girls' night, a celebration, or one of those "we just need a really good meal and a really good glass of wine" kind of evenings. And the back patio? Perfect for an evening under twinkling lights. It is one of those spaces that just begs for a long table, good conversation, clinking glasses, and the kind of night that accidentally turns into a core memory. They also have catering menus available, which is very important information to keep in your back pocket if you are hosting anything soon. What Angela has built is honestly something to behold. One of the hardest-working restaurateurs doing the dang thing in a city like San Diego, and now opening Bedda across the way too? I am in awe and wonder watching it all unfold. It takes so much courage, grit, taste, excellence, and heart to build what they are building, and you can feel all of it in the room. Carbon Angela's Kitchen is a true labor of love, a hidden gem, and one of those places I will keep cheering for again and again. Go hungry. Order the griglia mista. Get the Everything Salad. Do not skip the street corn. Share Share Share, so you can try a little bit of everything and do a tried and true family style meal, you won't regret it.
