I was in the area and needed some dinner, always have enjoyed Chili's in the past. This visit was a little bit of a let down though if I am being honest. The food overall was good, sides, salad, chip and salsa all very good. The main attraction was my Sirloin, it fell short being overcooked though, I asked for medium rare, knowing it is a crap shoot, but ended up getting more closer to medium well, that is the first point. Not sure why it is so difficult to get a properly cooked steak. Still, a good atmosphere, busy spot, clean, etc. Second point is the service, at first they seemed very nice, but there are a ton of employees and they were running around helping customers, which is great. But my specific server was inattentive, most of the service came from other employees stopping to ask if I needed something. Unfortunate, as she was nice, just distracted with friends and talking and not paying attention to the service part. I still like Chili's and I am not being too harsh here, still gave a 20% plus tip, people can have an off night. At least I hope it was an off night. Chili's offers good food, a good value and a nice fast casual experience overall. Don't let one off night keep you away. Enjoy! read more

It's rare that I go out for bbq outside of local rib joints. I am usually disappointed. I gave Chili's a try as they serve smoked bbq. Nice hostess opened the door for me. Nice waiter found out they smoked their bbq in applewood. I ordered a full rack of ribs expecting to take half home for leftovers. Ribs were very tender and had a light smoky flavor as well as sweetness from the sauce. Very good tasting ribs. Fries were crispy and I liked the salty fried flavor. Peanut butter pie made with Reese's was very sweet and full of peanut butter and chocolate flavors. Loved the crunchy chocolate crust which contrasted the creamy filling. Soda water was cold, bubbly, and refreshing. I was impressed by how nice the staff was. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. Everything I tried was very good. read more

My first time trying Chili's, and it was better than I expected! I got the 3 for me with the chicken bacon ranch quesadilla, baked potato soup, and iced tea. The iced tea was actually really good because it wasn't sweet. The baked potato soup was alright, I liked the bacon bits on top and the potatoes, but it was too cheesy for me. The chicken bacon ranch quesadilla was super filling, excellent portion sizes, and pretty tasty! I liked the crispiness and how it came with salsa and lettuce. Chips and salsa were good. I liked how thin the chips were. The seasonal marg had a good sweet aftertaste but the beginning taste threw me off. read more

I love chilis but this location has no one manning the host desk. I waited 5-8m before anyone acknowledged me. This is pretty much the same size as every other chilis. Its a very mellow atmosphere, but again, I just didn't like how i waited a long time. read more

This was my daughter's and my first time visiting the Claremont Chili's, even though we go to other Chili's locations often. We were really impressed! From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, the staff was absolutely amazing. Our server, Malcolm, was an absolute delight. He was attentive, funny, and seemed to anticipate our needs before we even had to ask. Honestly, he was everything you could want in a server. He's young, but you can tell he has a natural talent for hospitality. Some people could wait tables their whole lives and not be as good as this guy. We were seated quickly, the restaurant was clean, and the food came out hot and fresh. I ordered the 3 for $12.99 deal with the chicken sandwich, and it was great. My daughter got the salad and loved hers as well. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. Big thanks to Malcolm for being so awesome and I hope Chili's knows what a great employee they have! read more

The smells always waft across Clairemont Mesa from this place. I finally caved and got a full order of the Nashville mozzarella sticks I've seen all over social media. I also ordered a QP Burger with fries. The burger was by far the highlight. It was juicy, well-seasoned, and fairly saucy. Everything on it was fresh and delicious. The fries were seasoned and cooked pretty well. Not incredible but pretty good. The mozzarella sticks, on the other hand, were only fun for a couple of minutes. After I eating one I felt kind of sick. There was so much grease, and the mixture of the breading, melted cheese, Nashville dressing, and ranch was just an extreme punch to the gut. My friend had one and was laughing while eating it. Overall I'd say Chili's has really stepped up their burger game in recent years. The QP Burger is great. The mozzarella sticks are HEAVY. Get an order of 3 if you really want to try them. read more

Came here for happy hour! The servers initially sat us on the regular restaurant side but once we mentioned we were looking for happy hour, they moved us over to the bar area. The servers were pretty attentive throughout the meal. We ordered their classic marg of the month for $6, which is a lemon drop marg this month. It was pretty full of ice and barely any alcohol taste, but that's to be expected with this type of deal. They only have happy hour drink specials and not food. The beers were pretty worth the price. Our group also got the triple dipper and 3 for me meal deals. I finally got to try their flavored mozz - the honey chipotle comes drenched in sauce and pretty tangy and spicy in flavor while the nashville hot flavor was less spicy than I expected and less flavorful. The bites and southwest egg rolls were decent. Their soups and chicken crispers were really salty but tasty. Their chicken bacon quesadillas are pretty good as well. If you join their membership, you can get free chips and salsa. We realized after we got home that they messed up on entering the 3 for me deals that we ordered and actually ended up paying full price for some of the items... read more

tried chili's for the first time after seeing all the hype on tiktok and i had to see what it was about :p i got the triple dipper and the bacon nachos. the mozzarella sticks were SO good, like the cheese pull was actually crazy definitely my favorite. the sliders were really good too. the tenders were okay... the flavor was there but they were a bit too oily so it kind of took away from it. for the nachos, i just wish they loaded it more because a lot of the chips on the bottom didn't have toppings the space itself was nice, pretty spacious inside and didn't feel cramped. service was great too, we got seated pretty quickly and our server kept checking on us and offering refills. overall not bad at all. i'd definitely come back again, mainly for the mozzarella sticks and sliders!! read more

Nice neighborhood place for lunch. They always see you coming and have to hostess open the door to welcome you. We ordered the lunch special which came with a big bowl of chips and salsa, soup or salad plus you get an entree and a beverage. I had the chips and shrimp pasta while my husband had soup and the burger. Service was quick and polite. Many servers came by to check on us. They even asked us if we'd like our drink to go. Food portions were generous enough to take home. The manager even came by to check on everything. You pay at the table and then the hostess holds the door open for you on your way out. read more

First off, I want to make it known that the service was great and expedient. The food came out quick and hot. With that, the faster food comes out makes for more in-complacent mistakes. I ordered the bacon ranch version style burger. Asked for medium pink. Did not get that. My wife's rice with her fajita plate, undercooked, no seasoning. My daughter got the lemonade with boba and literally ONLY HAD a few balls of boba. Then was charged 2 dollars for extra boba, and only gave a sprinkle bits of more baba. Until chilis improves on the quality/quantity of their advertised items, a 3 Star will suffice until it improves. The ambience is what you would expect of a bar/ diner feel. Crowded. But was seated quickly and served quickly. read more

Chili's is always one of our spontaneous spots to go to for a family dinner. The food has always been very good, but last night my rice was very undercooked and unseasoned. I got the Shrimp & Fajita meal that came with rice and beans. Also the Boba Lemonade was a little underwhelming. Not much boba in the lemonade and they automatically charge $2 for boba when we were told that is if you requested extra. Besides those two things, we always enjoy our time there and the service is always great. My strawberry margarita was really good!! read more

Service food & staff are all great!! Service is speedy. Food is always excellent. A great variety of menu items.

It's always a great time dining at Chili's, especially with ma bestie, Danielle. This and Yap, is literally what we be doing, some apps to share and drinks to yap about the latest news in our life. You can not go wrong ordering a triple dipper, our favorate is getting tendies (Sauce on the side, I just like it crispy), Nashville Hot Mozzarella and southwest egg rolls. 10/10. Always be hitting. Of course you have to dipped in Ranch, that's the whole point. First time ordering the chipotle fresh mex bowl and it was pretty good, again sauce and dressing on the side and I would get it again, it's all about balance, the bowl was 880 calories but again, needed some greens after eating the triple dipper so we don't feel groggy after. Our server Calvin was wonderful, attentive and made sure everything was good, and refilled our drinks. The place were packed than the last time we were here but no complains, was seated right away and food came out fast and hot. I think I prefer this location than the one in Mission Viejo. This location atmosphere and the energy was alive and it was also a sunday evening so people were eating out for dinner. Honestly, it's giving back the late 90's vibes for me and I'm loving it. Totally healing that blast from the past. I hope in the future when I come back to reread my reviews, I hope Chili's will still be there. read more

Great service. Well run, however don't order a steak here. They serve a very low grade of sirloin and ribeye cuts. Had a small sirloin a few weeks ago. 6 oz of pure grizzle. I couldn't t chew and swallow a single bite. Tonight I upgraded to a 10 or 12 oz ribeye. Looked perfect as it arrived. It was also inedible!!! Red haired manager gal was very nice in fielding my complaint, but the problem here is that Chiles corporate dictates who supplies their food items. This Chiles, and all Chiles restaurants for that matter, have to prepare and serve whatever raw materials they are supplied. Tonight I spent $42 for a steak dinner and margarita that wasn't worth it by a long shot. I'll still patronize this particular Chiles but will NEVER AGAIN ORDER A STEAK HERE. In all fairness, the manager was very kind and patient hearing my complaint, and she did give me a $10 refund in the way of a branded debit card for future use. She mentioned that they had received many similar complaints, but her hands were tied. read more

Chili's doesn't take reservations but they accommodated our party of 27 very well and I applaud them for it! We did give them the heads up 2 weeks prior and again, the morning before we dined as to not overwhelm the staff. We still ended up waiting about 45 minutes to get a table but still, that's pretty good for accommodating 27 people without a reservation. Shout out to our server Dylan and another server (who I wish we got the name of! I just remember his birthday was close to new years!) who gave us wonderful service. In the middle of Dylan getting our orders, his tablet unfortunately rebooted and had to retake our orders again but food came out very quickly after that. They also gave us complimentary chips and salsa, plenty enough for our whole group, because of slight delay. Chili's isn't the place to go to expect "wow" food but for the amount of food each serving gets, you get the best bang for your buck. The 3-for-me deal alone is such a still and you won't find this kind of prices in any restaurant these days. My go-to is always the Triple Dipper. Meant as an appetizer but I order it as a meal, which even gives me enough for leftovers. 5 stars for this location! Thanks again for accommodating us. read more

Sat 2-7-26: 2pm. I'm a long‑time Chili's customer who visits regularly with my son. We always order full meals, I order bar drinks every visit, and we have never tipped less than 20%. Today I ordered a dirty gin martini -- something I've ordered at Chili's many times -- and was told by the bartender that he could not make it because management threw away all the martini glasses and would not allow him to serve it in any other glassware, even when I asked. As a former bartended for 16 years, I can say this is not a real policy in any professionally run bar. Chili's advertises a full bar, carries the ingredients, and yet refuses to make a basic cocktail because of glassware. That is a management failure and a guaranteed way to lose repeat customers and revenue. Regardless of what you decide to do about this, I'm done with Chili's. Outback is 100 feet away, and they'll gladly take my business and make me a basic martini. read more

Chili's always hits when you want solid food and good portions. The fajitas were sizzling and packed with flavor, and the chips and salsa never miss. (Use the app and it's always free with purchase) Service was friendly, but things can be a little slow when it's busy busy. Still, a solid and really respectably priced go-to for casual eats and a laid-back night out. Also really enjoy the monthly margs and new items every month! read more

I ordered the big mouth burgers and white Mac and cheese as the side to share with my mom. The burgers came all together 4 small buns stuck together with one patty. Instead of separate sliders... The meat was undercooked pink and the bacon was bacon bites.. not slices. The side order of Mac and cheese was tiny! The container was a good size but it looked like a tablespoon of Mac and cheese within it.. why not fill it up? For 20 dollars it was a huge disappointment and I ended up tossing it. read more

Chili's isn't about the wow factor or cutting edge culinary delights. It is a basic American eatery where you really can get a decent meal for an affordable price. I always order off the 3 for Me menu which also increases the value. I ordered the dip trio ($4 upgrade but worth it if you are with friends) for appetizer, Arnold Palmer (half lemonade and iced tea) for drink and their limited time Smash Burger (Big Mac knockoff) all for $10.99. I ordered the skillet queso (tasted OK, but sometimes it really looks like dog food), white questions and guacamole. The Trio came with a nice amount of housemade tortilla chips. The burger was good. I think meatier than Big Mac and definitely worth the price. Chili's won't wow you, but it is a nice comforting meal at an affordable price. Service was great that night, but sometimes it can be hit or miss. Tonight server eas great, but hostess handed us menus and waved us to a table. I guess they no longer walk people to tables anymore.... read more

Can never complain about chilis!! Service is always good and food tastes great every time we go. Our table kiosk was having issues to let us pay and our server kindly helped up with the issue. He also accidentally brought me a lemonade instead of sprite so we forgot keep it free of charge. We came in today 5/15 around 3 and asked for happy hour and got sat at a table. Was told by server we needed to be at the bar, was moved, then proceeded to sit at the bar booth for an hour and wasn't helped once. We asked for a server and asked if we needed to order at the bar; was told they'd get the server for us, then ignored? We watched every single person outside of our table get served and get their food. If it was busy I'd understand, but it was not busy. Would not recommended, they'll just waste your time. read more

This is my favorite Chili's in San Diego as of yet. I am from the San Ysidro area so I can only really compare it to the Chula Vista Chili's locations but this one is much more spacious and less packed than the other two. In terms of service, all locations have had very attentive servers and that's never been an issue with this chain so far. What really makes this place so good and has me writing this review is the quality of the food that we receive here. I'm a loyal fan of the triple dipper and across the Chili's locations I've visited before, this one is the only one that consistently gives me fresh and hot boneless wings every time I order them. I've had cold food at Chili's and it's not a dealbreaker cause let's be honest, it's part of the gamble when coming to a place like this. Despite that, this place still goes above and beyond serving some really stellar stuff. I mean damn even their soda is really good; I can just really respect a place that keeps it clean, presentable, and delicious all while keeping me within budget. I'm stuck in the UCSD area and so for a couple of years, I'm sure I'll be back to this location plenty, so to anyone looking around for a nice food place for cheap with awesome deals for all days of the week, let this be your sign to pull up to Clairmont Chili's. I wanna start up by saying this is one of the best experiences I've ever had in a restaurant and honestly was super impressed. First our server Logan was very personable,Nice and came by to check on us very often with some really nice small talk. She went above and beyond taking care of us and just making sure everything was perfect. Second, the runner, Gabe was very nice and respectful. When he came out he asked me to cut open my steak to make sure it was prepared the proper way, and if I needed any adjustments before he left the table. That was really nice to ensure my meal was cooked properly, so I didn't have to wait around for them to come back by to correct it. But I will have to say the steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly one of the best ones I've had from a casual restaurant in a long time. Third, the manager, Danny, and Sean were extremely nice walking around, checking on tables cleaning up and making sure everybody was satisfied with their food and their experience. Overall, this was a very great night for me and my family to go out to dinner and eat some delicious food. They went above and beyond with everything from the time we walked in to the time we left. Service was great restaurant was clean and they did an amazing job. The entire staff was friendly. I just want to write this review because I don't think a lot of people give good reviews or credit where it's deserved but Logan Gabe, Danny and Sean were excellent and we will definitely be coming back again. I want to thank all of you for a great experience and we are really appreciate your hard work and great attitude in the workplace. If I own a restaurant, I would definitely hire them to work There five stars all around you guys are great and we appreciate you. The Mize family read more
