    Bloomin' Onion®

My dad really wanted to try their special "Aussie" deal, so we decided to finally go. The wait was not too bad, since we were sat right away. Our waiter took our appetizer order and later our beverage order as well. For a Saturday night, it was pretty crowded but not too much. As part of the Aussie Meal, you get an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. We added the bloomin onion only because it is their signature dish at Outback. Bloomin Onion: Deep fried and battered onion. The sauce it came with was zesty and tangy and our onion was not too greasy. We didn't finish all of it, but it was still delicious and crispy nonetheless. My only complaint was that the server (not our waiter) who brought my dish sort of did a drive by, meaning he just slid our plate onto the table and walked off. Kinda weird service, but didn't bother me too much. House Salad: Typical ice berg lettuce house salad with ranch. A bit too much cheese for my taking, but otherwise a nice stat to my entree. Steak and Brocolli: Cooked medium, how I wanted it. Not much to complain since the steak was seasoned nicely for me a cutting into it was easy. It was not overcooked or "tough". Cheesecake: I had this at home and it felt standard to me. Overall, had a nice experience. Would consider coming back here again.

Hidden in a quieter part of Pleasant Hill, this Outback Steakhouse has a charming, old-school American design that feels both nostalgic and welcoming. It's not flashy, but that's part of the appeal - comfortable booths and large tables based on your party needs, warm lighting, that could be dark in cases, and a laid-back vibe that makes you want to settle in and stay for a while. The menu offers a solid selection of meats, including some standout options like the medallions. Just a heads-up: you'll want to know your cuts - occasionally they may present a different cut as a premium option, blaming the tenderness, so it pays to be specific when ordering. We kicked things off with the Bloomin' Onion (of course), but they've got a few other appetizer options like coconut shrimp worth exploring. Tap beer selection is surprisingly good, with a variety of choices to pair with your meats. Customer service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely polite throughout the evening, even though we had a return & replace. Overall, a great experience. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu and enjoy the relaxed, classic steakhouse feel again.

A house salad not even half filled. $8 bucks for this

Just came back 2 weeks ago and I ordered a Party size Salad and I notice when I got home I was packed 3 regular size house salads. I then asked for extra ranch and the guy told me it would be 8 bucks for extra ranch to which I paid. I emailed the manager and still haven't heard back. Outback is my wife's favorite. Sucks the Pinole location closed, this place never replies to any complaints or issues. Do better. Overcooked wings. It's not right.

Puzzled that the average rating for this Outback location is 3 stars. Outback Pleasant Hill remains one of our favorite chains for the last 15 years! My better half and I came in around 6:45 on a Friday night-- to our surprise it was pretty busy. Good for them!! Usually it's quiet when we come in on a random Friday night. We waited about 15 minutes and were seated in Anthony's section. They were out of prime rib, so we settled for the bone in ribeye which was amazing, cooked medium rare as ordered. Split the coconut shrimp, soup, side salad and baked potato. Service was tops. Anthony was quick taking our order and splitting plates for us without us making a request, and had great attention to detail, like sweetener for my husband's iced tea. Oftentimes servers forget to ask about the trivial things like sugar for iced tea. Anthony was quick, efficient and friendly and his food runner was on point as well--as he brought us sauces and cleared extra plates quickly. Anthony's section was super busy, but he still checked in on us steadily through out. Every dish was prepared well, fresh and hot-- down to the brown bread and butter at the start of service. Ambience is pretty much what you'd expect for an Outback chain, if not a bit less Aussie than usual. Not sure when they changed the decor but it's definitely missing that Aussie somewhat touristy/kitschy charm, think kangaroos and boomerangs. No matter, doesn't change the food and service. Thanks! Will be back, as always!

This place has the best deals on steaks, and it is pretty good for the price! A little outdated and could use a bit of updating!

During a recent visit on October 10th we having dinner at this location and in the middle of the meal I lifter my ribs to rip them apart and this little guy(cockroach) fell off the plate onto the table! My stomach immediately felt queasy so I told the waiter and showed him! His response was "oh wow, can I get you anything else? Would you like a to-go box! I was stunned! I asked for the manager and he said the manager was "Busy" I loved Outback but I will never return to this location!

We went to celebrate my daughter's birthday and for their prime rib. We got there on a Saturday shortly after 5p, was disappointedly told that they were sold out of prime rib already! At 5pm! Way BEFORE the dinner crowd! We had our hearts set on their delicious prime rib!! How is this even possible? Anyhow, we settled on salads and rib eyes. Both were good but prime rib would've been so much better! French onion soup came really late, in fact we had to remind our server a few times! The salads were good. Rib eyes were inconsistent, my piece hardly had a bone and over cooked, my son's slice was better, but slightly under cooked. So overall was an average experience. We used to love Outback for their prime rib and blooming onion, but felt food and service had been declining, plus they no longer serve prime rib during weekdays. Very disappointing.

I informed her that we were 1st timers and she said to take our time. When she returned, she asked if we had any questions, my wife asked about the pizzas and she gave a rundown of the most popular pizzas and a very detained description of each. We decided on the Calamari appetizer, the Nectarine Salad and Fungo Pizza to split. Calamari and Shrimp 5/5, lightly batter, extremely tasty Nectarine Salad 5/5, she had it split for us, Great flavor, dressing was perfect and the goat cheese was nice and creamy. Fungo Pizza 4/5, it was sliced in 1/4 so they were huge. We split them in two. The center was a little soft and chewy, outside crust was slightly charred and perfect. It had a minimal kick from the Italian Chilies. We drizzled the marinara from the calamari on top which cut down the heat. We had plenty of pizza to bring home. Lastly we order the Pistachio Cake on Special and the Limoncello cake to go to. Both were delicious and we couldn't decide on a favorite. It was a perfect Lunch/Dinner Date with my wife

She handed us a "free appetizer" at the resturant a few blocks away. It was 2 pm on a late September 2026 Saturday. We made our way to the restaurant and waited in the lobby for a few moments where the hostesses had their backs to my wife and me. After my wife headed to the ladies room, I waited a few more moments until one of the hostesses ask "have you been helped"? I replied "No". I waited for my wife to return before having us seated. We waited between 12-15 with no recognition from ANY wait team. Frustrated and ready to leave (1st time ever in 60 years of going to restaurants!) I got up and went to the hostess and shared we were going to leave a d was curious if they were short servers? To be honest, I was stoked off my ass to be able to have it DoorDashed to my hospital room to eat my first significant meal in days since I've been here. The brûlée was super tasty, with fresh fruit on top and great texture. I only wish the rest of the meal had followed suit. I mean, it may have, but I didn't receive half of what I ordered :( The Arnold Palmer was a no-show, which was a huge bummer because, for whatever reason, that sounded like the best thing in the world yesterday. I'm reckon it was just an honest mistake. The staff at Cooperage are human, after all. Speaking of no-shows, go ahead and add my soup to the "Missing Dinner" reward money posters. This one really hurt because A) I originally had to pay a modest charge to upgrade my side, and B) Iam an incorrigible and shameless slut for soup, Lastly, when they packed the food, they put a pickle spear in the same container as the sandwich. Normally this is, like, my reminder that there is good in this world. However last night it was as if they dumped half of the jar of pickle juice over the entire bottom of the container, then put the sandwich on top of it. The result? Soggy, inedible sandwich roll bottoms. It was the ruin of two of my favorite things: pickles and carbs. I wouldn't be averse to possibly trying Cooperage again in the future, but paying over $50 to only recoup $16 in credits for a meal in which only the dessert came out ok was a definite disappointment.

Quick fact before I do my review: Before officially being in a relationship, The Hideout Kitchen is…read morewhere we had our very first date. And it was at the former location. So what better place to dine in to celebrate out 2nd Year Wedding Anniversary at The Hideout Kitchen :) We went for dinner. Our server was KEVIN. Simply...HE IS JUST AWESOME. He knows the menu, he knows the history, and has amazing stories to share with everyone. Great guy. A lot of people there that night seemed to be celebrating something. The noise was a bit loud that I felt I had to almost yell to have a conversation with my husband. But the vibe was great. I enjoyed looking around at the decor. We ordered: - TRUFFLE FRIES for appetizers - I loved everything about it. haha. Tastey! - linguine & clams - I ordered this. It was good. However, I felt it was way oily. And after every bite I took, I had to wipe my mouth. And I accidentally spilled oil on my shirt. - PASTA ALLA CARBONE with steak - My husband enjoyed it and started to get full towards clearing out his bowl haha. - SCALLOPED POTATOES - I ordered a side of this. Definitely was not expecting to look the way it did, but I thought the presentation was beautiful. It was good; however, I was not a fan at how crunchy and hard the top first layer was. In a few areas, it was almost burnt. But I thought it was pretty good without the need for a type of sauce on the side. - For drinks, I had to Summer sangria and my husband had the Rumble in the Jungle. We enjoyed it. Definitely hit the spot. No complaints at all about these drinks. - And Kevin surprised us with a dessert to celebrate : Cranberry Bread Pudding. This was delicious. Very flavorful. I am not really into Cranberry, but this is definitely an exception. Loved the fruits on the side as well. The Hideout Kitchen will always have a place in our hearts. We will definitely come back. We still need to try this place out for Brunch. We need to try their UBE pancakes! hehehe. And thanks Kevin for being amazing that night!

The restaurant has a stylish "luxe-meets-rustic" aesthetic, with warm lighting, wood accents, and cozy seating that makes the place feel welcoming and relaxed. Our server was also very friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. For brunch, we ordered the Pulled Pork Silog, Fried Chicken & Waffles, and Kids Ube Pancake. Pulled Pork Silog - Delicious! The flavor was spot-on, and the pulled pork was really tasty. My only issue was the fried rice--it felt slightly undercooked, as I could still barely feel the individual rice grains. Fried Chicken & Waffles - Crispy and good! The chicken had a nice crunch and paired well with the waffles. Kids Ube Pancake - Delicious and, most importantly, not too sweet! The sweetness was just right, and our daughter loved it so much she finished the whole thing. That's always a good sign! Overall, we enjoyed our brunch and our little Lafayette adventure. It was nice discovering a quieter side of the Bay Area, and finally putting that gift card to good use!

First time back since the remodel and have to say I was impressed!…read more Definitely missed their pretty outdoor patio which is currently not available but the interior has a beautiful new look and was perfect for lunch. They have also revamped the menu and though some old favorites are missing - we enjoyed what we tried - namely the grilled artichokes which are a slightly different recipe to what was previously on their menu but absolutely delicious with that same wood-fired taste and accompanied by two dipping sauces that was fantastic. Also had the artichoke dip which was also really good with lots of chunks of artichoke! The only thing that was unnecessary was the sour cream - unless the intent was to mix into the dip and salsa which did not really go - the dip itself was fine and stood out on its own. Service was okay; they appeared short staffed as we had a significant wait to get the check, but food and atmosphere were great!

The staff work well together to make a very enjoyable experience. Food ummmm... not as good as previous years. Not bad, just very limited. There are 3 or 4xs of drinks over the food menu. While nothing was bad, it definitely wasn't exciting. Artichoke & spinach dip was very good, but served with chips, sour cream & salsa....was just very odd. Corn croquettes were also tasty, 5 little balls with a plate full of roasted chillies... again...a bit odd. Burger.. something different next time. Salad... this was the prettiest item ordered. All in all... they need to work on the menu. Dinner was highly disappointing on the food front. It looks like would be a wonderful place to come for drinks.
