I dropped in for lunch to meet a friend I haven't seen in while. Our plan was to find a local spot, dine-in, and fellowship. We ordered appetizers, drinks, main entree, and desert. We arrived around 1:00 pm during the weekday. The ambiance was what you expect from an Outback. Our waitress was very attentive until it was time for her to clock out. It was obvious then that she preferred we take our conversation elsewhere, so she could close out. It became blantanly obvious when the shade that blocks the sun was lifted and the sunlight began to shine right in my face since I was facing the window. I didn't let that deter me from contining my conversation, yet the sun in my face and the constant petition to pick up plates we were obviously still working on became quite annoying. My friend finally suggested we continue the fellowshipping at his place since we needed to leave. He got boxes for his stuff. Enough about the service. My food was fair. My steak was cooked to order but my four shrimp was slightly undercooked on each shrimp. I may give them another try but go after 4:00 so you are not rushed. read more

Always enjoy visiting the Outback Steakhouses. This new one in Forney is no exception. We enjoyed the Blooming Onion burger and my brother enjoyed sirloin, baked potato, and macaroni. All were delicious! The service was exceptional and Bobby, one of the managers, even came by and introduced himself. Mixed drinks are priced fairly at $7 and $1 for a topper. The vibe is modern but warm. We will definitely be back when we visit Forney. read more

Before the night ends I want to shout out the Manager Jesse (or Jessie, not sure on the spelling). It's a bit lengthy so brace yourself lol. All day I'd been craving beef, so I decided that for dinner I would order some Outback. I'm not the biggest fan of ordering to go because it's becoming harder and harder to make modifications and prone to be missing certain things upon pick up, so I always make sure to read descriptions twice & anything that's not explicitly stated in the descriptions I add in the optional notes section. I'm not sure when their website updated & I'm not mad at it but now when certain items aren't available, it won't let you add/checkout the item in your cart and will prompt you to choose something else (or at least this happened to me a couple weeks ago when I tried to order the prime rib dinner & couldn't). Well tonight I chose to try again and got the 12oz seasoned prime rib dinner & had my fiancé stop to pick it up on his way home. I told him before driving off to make sure the bag had the creamy horseradish as advertised on the menu & the au jus I politely requested in the notes. Imagine my surprise then when my fiancé called and said a takeaway host told him they were out of horseradish & there was nothing they could do about it. It caught me off guard because when you read the details of the entree it's marketed as a dish served with creamy horseradish and two sides. One thing about me is I expect what I am told I'll be getting, but just in general.....what is prime rib without au jus and horseradish ?? It isn't lol. I wound up calling the restaurant because ultimately small details like that are what make the difference in a purchasing decision. Had the website prompted that certain items weren't available like it did two weeks ago I would've opted for another dish. Well Jesse is who answered when I called & they immediately took initiative. They were attentive, explained the miscommunication, and were able to get one of the chefs to whip up a two sides of horseradish for me all in the span of five minutes. THAT ladies and gentlemen is customer service. Going the extra mile to make sure a consumer of your business is satisfied never goes unnoticed. There was also a man whose name I didn't catch that tried to step in to help, so my gratitude extends to them as well. Food wise I'm always satisfied w/the prime rib because the meat is tender, juicy, has a ton of flavor and is more than enough portion wise to eat off of for two days. Tonight was no exception. If you enjoy prime rib but have never had theirs, trust that it's some of the best in Dallas. I don't know if every Outback steak house has fallen off in the last 5-7 years or what... but quality is NOT what I remember from my last time at an Outback. I talked it up to my husband because I've never had bad food at an Outback, until eating here. I was embarrassed that I had hyped it after the absolute dog food quality that was our meals. Can not comment on anything else as it was take out. Mind you I live three minutes away, so it wasn't that the food sat, the food tasted like it sat for days. read more

It feels like you're in the neighborhood in an elevated experience. I'm so glad they finally opened up in Forney, close to my house. We needed this. For starters, I couldn't resist trying the new Kookaburra Wings®. Tossed in a secret blend of spices, these chicken wings came with a side of Blue Cheese dressing and celery. My husband and I went today for a simple burger and fry. We both orders WELL DONE. The first thing we noticed was the fries were not fresh at the same time when I cut into my burger it was still pink. We sent both back and a while later the fries came for my husband and it we were destined not to get fresh fries this trip. Then my burger came out and although the mgr said he tested the temp himself, he didn't test it in more than one place because what I showed him was still pink. He offered to put it back in the grill but we were done at that point and I said I would finish cooking it at home. It ended up in the trash because after I cooked it and tasted it, they had over salted it and it was inedible. read more

Went with my wife and 5 kids on Saturday night at around 7. They were hopping! They sat us within the quoted time frame, got bread and our appetizer and drinks quickly. Timed the side salads/soup well so it wasn't overlapping with the appetizer, but we werent waiting too long either. Our entrees were also perfectly timed. Kudos to our server Destiny, the kitchen, and management for having everything so well timed. Everyone enjoyed the food. My steak was cooked to order, and well seasoned. Reminded me of other Outbacks. The floor manager was roaming helping the busy servers... It seemed like everyone was working as a team. Destiny also did a great job intereacting with us and our children, making it pleasant, friendly, and a great first experience. Excited to have a local Outback. Really wanted to love having a decent steakhouse in town, but our first experience here was decidedly lackluster. My medium rare 8 oz filet came out of the kitchen 100% raw, and my gf's pork chop wasn't more better. The manager put the filet back on the grill the second we asked, but having worked in restaurants for the better part of my 20's, a raw steak should never have been sent out from the kitchen in the first place. I gave this restaurant yet another try! The food was less than good.. I ordered the chicken and 6 oz steak. Where do I start? The chicken was the size of a golf ball and just not very good, the steak was supposed to be medium well, not prepared properly, and the asparagus was mushy to the point; "lets make a soup ". Just not very good, I have tried several times. The salads are not as advertised. I will continue driving to North Dallas for a great dining experience! We went for the 1st time ever and was disappointed. Hostess sat us down told us who our waitress was "Brooklyn" a few minutes she shows hands us the menus and ask our drink order. Water and unsweet tea. A few mins go by then another waiter brings us bread and butter and sets it on our table. We still do not have drinks and have not ordered. I could see in the doorway of the kitchen there was probably 5 standing talking a laughing and one really young boy back there. Well the blooming onion comes out but not the 2nd loaf of bread yet. So we were enjoying the onion and almost done when the 2nd loaf of bread by a different waitress. By this time our glasses needed a refill and that waitress said okay. Some time passes we don't have our main course. Our Brooklyn has passed our table twice serving other guest and we've been very patient. So then the manager walks by and ask the couple behind us his everything? They mention their food was burned and could eat it. He assured them they'd get a discount and leaves. That couple was there even when we leave... Anyway here comes Brooklyn with our refills and again The chatter is still at the door of the kitchen with several staff members. So since we still didn't have the main course we ask for more bread assuming it was something the OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE DOES for their guest like TO LIVE GARDEN (at no extra charge,) and finally another waitress brings it.. Being patient and being there our 1st time and CELEBRATING OUR 48TH ANNIVERSARY we figure could this be the normal for this place???? The service was slow slow, no organization and our main course hadn't came still... So finally it came out... I admit it looked pretty. But it was NOT HOT and there was SOOOOO much of that hard white gressle?? In the meat you couldn't chew it or eat it...the baked potatos weren't even hot, it's like it sat to be served while they all were chatting at the kitchen doorway... And it was delivered to the table by a male waiter. And,,, while he was placing it on our table another waitress stopped to bring us more bread and we said no thank you because we'd just got served our food. But they charged us for it and all 4 loafs. Which we paid... And smiled. Oh Brooklyn came and ask if we wanted the check and I had gotten the 3 course meal that included a dessert my husband ordered a $35 meal steak and shrimp and oh my gosh the shrimp looked like BAIT,, it was suppose to be grilled and had NO GRILL MARKS AT ALL and it was FLAT FLAT,, so anyway I had to ask for the cheesecake. We waited and waited then a different girl brings it out. Again it looked pretty but my husband a I took a bite of and spit it out cause it tasted Soooo nasty and old!!! I paid the bill at the table which came to $75 something and my husband and I didn't want to ruin our anniversary by complaining there. But I feel your company needed to know your employees must have been playing in the kitchen and this should be very embarrassing.... We went to Outback in Forney on Friday 10/25, and Steven was our server. The wait was long but being that it just opened, that's to be expected. Steven did an amazing job, was super attentive, and really sold us on some great dishes. I had the Alfredo, my wife had the bone-in ribeye, my sister had the bloomin chicken, my sister in law had the sirloin. No one had a single complaint. We tried the new Outback Steakhouse in Forney, Texas for lunch. Lunch menu was disappointing with very few lunch options. The ambience was nothing special - just another business that wanted you in, pay, and out in a hurry. Prices were a little on the high side for the quality of food and service. The "well-done" steak was undercooked as was the vegetable medley. Both were highly over-seasoned with an overabundance of spicy garlic. Ruined a good sirloin. Can't recommend this Outback Steakhouse in Forney. We could have enjoyed a better quality lunch at WhatABurger or Dairy Queen for a fraction of what this lunch cost. Outback is not really a "steakhouse" anymore - it is more like a fast-food place in quality and taste. The only difference is that at Outback you will pay a premium price for marginal and mediocre food. UPDATE: 4 hours after eating lunch at this Outback Steakhouse, my dining companion is reporting extreme nausea, vomiting, and stomach discomfort. She says it was definitely the food at this restaurant that made her very, very sick. UPDATE 2: 6 hours after eating at the Outback Steakhouse in Forney, she is still very, very sick.
