The only reason there are 2 stars is because of the food. Our service was terrible and coming from a server that's a lot. First, it took us forever to be greeted then it was another 5 mins to just get our drinks. And we had pops so it not like it was the bartenders fault. We got our appetizer and then ten minutes later got our bread and that's only because we asked a different server for it. Ours was never to be found. My fiancé's pop sat empty for about 10 mins after the server asked if he wanted a refill and someone else got it for him. It was a Sunday night and yes it was busy but not that busy. Very dissatisfied service was slow waitress was good Blooming Onion was really greasy After long wait steak dinners came out cold so sent back hoping they would have came back hot and maybe the steak would have ended up more done than wanted but didn't happen they just heated up the cold sweet potato and the steak still cold and raw in the center...... We went lastnight to for my mother in laws 80th birthday with a party of 21. It was 45minutes before we were seated and we had reservations for 6pm. Then 45 minutes later we finally received our bread and a while later after what seemed like forever we finally got our drinks! I HAVE CELIAC WHICH MEANS I HAVE TO EAT GLUTEN FREE. Posting this for others with this dietary restriction. Ive ate here maybe 10 times because i live around here. I was excited to find out they were gf. At one point outback and its affiliates were really highly rated for gf even. Im talking 3 or 4 years ago. I ate there then and also would have rated them highly, but there standards on this have went way down since then across the chain. This location a couple years ago or so also came under a new manager even. I was up all night sick because of this place last night and yes ordered from the gf menu, and they knew i was celiac as usual, but this was pretty bad. Ive had a few cc issues the last few times but this one was the worst. I gave it chances because it wasnt always this way and i tend to get much stricter with ordering in those cases, like no sauces or tomatues with the grilled shrimp, no bacon on the loaded baked potatoe. I eliminate the suspects and its almost like reading from their own gf menu as its mostly things already stated there which the waittstaff and cook don't seem to ever look at on their own. Im not sure what changed as really the whole chain was great at one point, but im a bit more careful now with this one than i used to be. I went to Outback after work, I usually sit at the bar. Last time I ordered the Ribeye medium and it came more on the med well - well done side, to me a ribeye is not very good if its ordered anything over medium, again I ordered the Ribeye Med on sat and it was over done, there was no pink in the steak at all. The food was good but the service was horrible! Took us over an hour to get our food but then only half of us were served. It took another full 20 minutes for the rest of the food. They never took the dirty appetizer dishes and my first cup of coffee I had to send back because the cup was dirty. Also no spoon and had to ask for cream and sugar. No straws. Outback used to be a nice place to have dinner, Today not so much. I sat down and was greeted, beverage order was taken. I placed my dinner order, Filet 6oz medium, Caesar salad, and baked potato with everything on the side. My salad was brought to me with no silverware. I asked for a napkin and silverware. they didnt bring me any. I started pick at my salad with my fingers. a manager was in the bar making a drink right next to me. didnt say anything or ask how i was doing. no silverware to ear my salad with. my steak came. they asked if it was cooked right, i said I would need silverware to cut it open to see. they brought me silverware. I cut into the steak and it was med rare in stead of medium. I asked for all the topping to be on the side so that I could choose what i would like to add to the potato and how much to put on it. they gave me a baby 1 oz cup with butter, bacon, cheese, chives, and sour cream all in 1 cup. I asked the waitress for the topping on the side again and it all came lumped together just in a bigger cup. Very sad experience. The staff didnt really care too much about the customers. read more

Just ate there a few days ago. One of the worst meals we've had in a long, long time. Blooming onion and deep fried mushrooms looked and tasted like the were made hours ago. Did they change their batter? The batter was very dry and crusty with a dark color? The onion tasted a lot different from what we remembered. This was our first time eating at an outback in about 2 to 3 years. The salads were decent. My wife and I both ordered the Fillet. My wife had hers butterflied because she likes hers well done. They butterflied an end cut and it looked like 2 small marbles when they brought it out. I used to be a butcher and I can tell you exactly where they cut thit steak from. It was one of the worst end cuts I've ever seen a restaurant try to pass off as a normal steak. Also, they under cooked it. I ordered my fillet "medium" and it was cooked well done. The steak had a big cap of fat on the top. I expect a little fat with a rib eye or a strip steam but not when you are ordering a $30 fillet? I also ordered their sauteed mushrooms and I'm not quite sure how to describe these... Since I'm pretty black and white here it goes... These mushrooms were the most God Awful thing I've ever ate? They tasted like the ocean... pure salt? with a very sour taste. I'm surprised I'm not sick. Right off the bat the restaurant smelled like a cheap dirty bar, piss and stale beer. We got sat at a table near the door so that every single time someone came in we got a blast of cold winter air. Service was slow and poor and when the food came it was all very obviously previously frozen crap and they over cooked the steaks that two of us got. Took a family of six here for our mothers eighty-fourth birthday party. Two of our party of six had bad prime rib (birthday girl was one). After sending the steaks back two times for being medium rare and not medium, the manager said the only way to get prime rib medium was to put it on the grill. The third steaks came out and were edible but their side dishes were cold. The four of us were done eating before their third steaks were brought out. No compensations was offered to us for the cooks doing a bad job. The next day I returned to Outback and talked to a different manger (with my sales receipt) and explained what had happened and felt for the prices we had paid, I should have received some type of compensation for the two meals. He could not apologized enough or agree more. You could tell someone was going to have a talking to. He comped the two meals and a little more. My daughter and I enjoyed the evening, the food was pretty good, server was very nice, but the hostess handing out the little beepers could learn some customer service skills (maybe smiling would be a good start). Went to outback to use up some gift cards, looked busy but there were at least 10 tables open, told it would be a half an hour wait, after waiting 55 minutes went over to check on status, we were told someone was seated instead of us, we had an buzzer that never went off and the host said give him a minute and he would seat us, got seated and the waitress said she heard about the delay and would see to it that the rest of our visit would be drama free, she would take care of us, Well, ordered their overpriced steaks to use up the gift cards and when they came one was what we ordered and mine was a Porterhouse PORK chop not the Melbourne porterhouse that I ordered, sent it back and told her make it to go, spent three hours there and came away totally disgusted with Outback in Flint, we will never go back there and would not recommend it to anyone, giving it 1 star for the waitress , she really tried to make it right but it was above her pay grade. @ steaks with potato and a salad and 1 beer was 60.88. There were four of us dining on Wednesday around 4:15 They were not overly busy. He got our drink order, when he brought the drinks he took an appetizer order and we heard him ask for bread for our table. We waited quite a while before he took our dinner order. Still no appetizer. He offered us drink refills, which everyone wanted then left. Eventually a girl brought our salads, noticed our drinks needed refilled and offered to do so. We asked her to check on our appetizer as we noticed people who came in after us had gotten theirs. She told us that several orders had been placed at one time and ours would be out shortly. Still no drink refills. Finally the drinks were refilled, we had fresh bread and the appetizer appeared. Before we could even plate it out our dinners arrived! I made a remark and our waiter totally ignored me. The appetizer was not fresh, my "medium" steak was cooked the same as the medium rare steaks and the batter just slid off my coconut shrimp. Ordered a cocktail and was told they don't have it - "That's at Applebee's." Later saw it was on their drink menu. Ordered their signature item - Blomin' Onion. Worst. Dinner. Ever. We chose Outback because of the TV commercials touting the steak and lbster, but it's the same special as the menu. After waiting nearly a half hour between rhe salad and main course, our food was barely warm. My filet was OK, but my lobster tail was shriveled. My husband's prime rib, also nearly cold, was really fatty and had a big line of gristle, making about half inedible. Drinks served in spotty glasses. We couldn't get anybody to take our finished stuff iff the table so we spent our whole dinner looking at dirty salad plates and empty cocktail glasses. Even the staff was not very friendly. I slipped on the wet floor and the host tokd me to be more careful. We sat at the bar and the solo diner next to us waited forever to get someone to take her order and then they rushed her through. There are two steakhouses within a quarter mile, so we won't be going back to Outback. read more

This is one of my favorite places to come when we go out to eat. Just wish that the quality was a little more consistent. I usually get the filet with good results, but other family members have suffered with poor cuts of meat and very under cooked vegetables. 03/15/16. My sister ordered the prime rib and had to send it back twice. The first time it was so over cooked and dried out she couldn't even cut it. The next time it was very, very rare, the third time she kept it and ate what she could. The waitress wasn't interested in this process and spent most of her time in the kitchen. No apology. I give it a one star due to the extremely slow service...There were many empty tables when we were seated and still when we ordered, so not really sure what the deal was but based on other reviews we can't say we weren't warned. My Steak was ordered medium-well and came medium-rare but due to the time we'd already waited I just ate it anyways. It was like rubber cutting into it. Had we not been there due to a gift card, I would have raised my concern, but again, I was starving and it was a long wait. Went here yesterday with my husband around 4pm before the dinner rush and was pleased up until my dinner came. The potato soup was good, strawberry lemonade was awesome, can't go wrong with the awesome blossom(fried onions) appetizer even though I don't think I like it anymore not cause it was made bad just cause of personal preference, well I ordered the prime rib sandwich thinking it would taste good, we waited and waited and waited and it finally came out and was horrible. I don't know why it took forever and I should of just ordered a hamburger or chicken sandwich thinking they couldn't possibly screw up on that. By the way I would of ordered a filet but I didn't have the money for that. Arby's French dip sandwich is better. Just don't order this sandwich cause it's disgusting, it was dry, had fat and grizzle surrounding the so called mystery meat that tasted like it was a few days old and reheated, and the bun it was on was gross, bottom line don't order the prime rib dip sandwich!!!!! The waitress was nice and I should of took the sandwich back but I didn't, just order a steak or chicken and you should be safe. My husbands Alice sping chicken appetizer was so-so, it was kinda cold being that it was probably sitting there waiting on my sandwich.
