So sad that Outback in Covington is declining. Picked up my order tonight for baby back ribs with two baked potatoes, and two salads and the potatoes were so dried up - apparently had been under a heat lamp all day - they were not even edible. Don't trust the prices on the online menu. The prices at this Outback were higher by $1 or $2 for what we ordered. Having said that, the service was fine. We got what we ordered even though we had a special requirement: no spices. Food was not super, but good quality and filling. read more

Omg! Ashley Lewis is amazing! I mean the patience she has is comforting and she was extremely helpful! I tried to order online but it wouldn't accept my gift card. She asked me to give her the card number to check and make sure it had a balance which it did. So she took my order over the phone. I am a fan of Outback in general. I don't go for the steaks, oddly enough. If I want steak I tend to go elsewhere. Outback is a great setting to eat appetizers, drink a few beers, and sample the different items on the menu. The Toowoomba Pasta is good, as is the Blackened Ahi appetizer. The service at this location is excellent, the bartenders are knowledgeable, and the management is very accommodating. Outback is a chain, so you should know what to expect. This place is amazing! Always so glorious. Steaks cooked to perfection, great service, and a whimsical atmosphere. We had the pleasure to talk to the proprietor and he was just the biggest ray of sunshine!! If you are in the Covington area, this is by far the best restaurant in the area. I have never received a good steak here. They have always been tough and not cooked the way I requested. Because of this history I no longer go to Outback for steak. Copland's very close by and serve a far superior steak than Outback. I have never had a problem with the service, wait staff, or cleanliness of the restaurant. Service is average but nothing to complain about. The staff is usually friendly and helpful. I have not had a problem with courses served too close together. It has a nice atmosphere, is good for groups and kids. I don't know if they have WiFi but would, at this date, expect them to have it. It is not easy to find. It is located directly behind Osaka West and across from Rouses. It doesn't have any visibility from Hwy 190 or Park Place. You are going to need GPS or already know where it is to find it. The restaurant's parking lot is just a little too small for the number of people it can seat. You may have to park a little ways away in the Rouses parking lot. It can get crowded. I have seen a line extend out of the doors at times. They do have take out or "curbside orders" though I am not familiar with this service and are not able to objectively evaluate it. I think the prices are fair and the menu reasonably diverse to suit most people. I don't think they have vegetarian options but you should call them and check to be certain. read more

To start I would like to thank the ever so polite curbside employee and chefs at this particular Outback. My wife and I loved this place for their steaks. It was kind of expensive, but worth it. All of a sudden last month we ordered the medium prime rib and when we got home it was purple and cold throughout. This happened about 4 more times that we have been back. It got so bad that we had to start grilling them ourselves when we got home. Three days ago my wife and I decided to try it one last time. I said to myself, "Maybe if I tell the curbside employee my dilemma when I order she can say something to the chef." This only made things worse. The cheerful employee had said it was not Outbacks fault that they serve raw meat when Medium is asked for, it is the seared cooking style. I said be that as it may, I just dont want to come home with purple and cold steaks. She then exhaled a large and audible huff and said I"ll see what they can do. To her credit when I got home the steaks were not purple and cold, rather they were now black, tough, and inedible. I am sorry, but I lack the culinary skill to save burnt. I am not saying that a restaurant has to be perfect every order, I just think that a steak house that charges as they do should be able to cook a proper medium steak. In closing, I would like to once again thank the curbside employee and chefs at this particular outback. Last night I grilled my own steaks and it tasted better and was cheaper than the dog food they serve here. So not only am I now saving money, I am getting what I want. Ordered curbside tonight which had a very long wait. upon arrival, the parking lot was completely full and had to park at Rouses. The girl who answered the phone was professional and knowledgeable and when we arrived to learn our order wasn't quite ready she brought us two extremely large drinks at no charge. We watched her answer the phones which were ringing off the hook, Run from the kitchen back into the little room outside and back in multiple times and she never lost her composure. She was sincere and apologetic about the wait which was not her fault...it was clearly extremely busy! She let us know about a few sites where we could get coupons for future visits. Can't remember her name but she had a very long braid. I have never received such wonderful customer service placing a Togo order like this! She should be training people in proper etiquette and handling situations like tonight. I will definitely be back! read more

Slow service on a slow Tuesday night, no excuse for that. They use gross American cheese on their burgers. No restaurant should have American cheese in stock. Burger came out very well done, and the chicken was practically burnt. It's always bad when a steakhouse doesn't know how to cook to temp. Another person ordered grilled shrimp with their steak, and they were way too salty. An overall bad experience that's even worse when you have to pay $80 for it. The food is usually good and the wait staff are friendly but I have a problem with the manager at the Covington, La. Outback. My daughter, husband, granddaughter and I had all placed our main course orders after ordering a appetizer (fried calamari) which by the way is overpriced and not that good. After a reasonable time our salads and soups were served; after about 2 bites of my salad the steaks were served to the table. I was completely amazed that a restaurant would serve your food in such a manner, gives you a feeling of being rushed and hurried so your food doesn't get cold. I complained to the waiter who blamed the kitchen and also had the manager come to the table. The manager arrived to our table and basically admitted that they were at fault, something that by no means could have been my fault. He then asked if there was anything he could do for us, I then asked him exactly what did he mean (hint, hint) and his response was; you know like any refills (soft drinks) or something? I quickly said no and I'm thinking to myself by the way don't we get refills anyway? This manager hasn't a clue how to satisfy a customer who has a legitimate complaint with something simple such as a free desert a free cocktail just something to show that he cares about making sure that all customers are serviced properly and have the customer walk out of the outback with a smile rather than a frown of pure disrespect taking the time to write this POOR MANAGEMENT REVIEW! read more

My husband asked me where I wanted to eat for my birthday. Since we haven't eaten here in over a year(due to a couple of bad experiences), I said "It's been awhile, let's give Outback a try. Maybe it's gotten better." Big mistake! It started off bad and that pretty much framed and ruined the whole dinner. They asked how many in party. I said 2 and we'd like a booth. This was at 4pm so it wasn't busy by any means. We were told they had no booths available as there were only 2 servers. We could have a table or have a seat in the bar. I do not go out to eat at a restaurant to eat in a bar! We had to sit at bar booth right by the hostess stand. Before we even had our order taken, I looked around and they were seating people in the booths that we were told were not available! I ordered a Victorian Filet with baked potato. The baked potato only had like a teaspoon of butter on it. Thus the potato was dry. I asked our waiter for some more butter. 15-20 minutes later still no butter. I had eaten half the steak by itself. I went to the other end of bar by the kitchen and asked again. He did bring it then but my potato was cold and not appetizing. I asked for a to-go box and brought it home to heat up. My husband ordered the prime rib and it was mostly fat. Our waiter was very nice, I'll give them that. The bad experience when we walked in the door pretty much set the tone for the visit. Happy Birthday to me. Not! There are too many other restaurants where we can get a good steak and not be treated like we were today. I don't know whether it was because we are older or maybe because we were wearing jeans(at least we weren't wearing t-shirts)? New dress code? We used to (loyally)eat here every weekend until we had a bad experiences 3 weekends in a row. Today was a chance to regain our regular business. Why treat us like that? read more
