I visited Outback Steakhouse in Altamonte Springs on Sunday to try one of their $14.99 specials. I ended up upgrading my meal and ordered the filet and lobster, along with the pecan salad as my side. We were seated quickly, and our server, Von, made the experience exceptional. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure our drinks stayed full. Our food came out promptly, and he checked on us throughout the meal without being intrusive. Great service like his definitely makes a difference. The only downside was my pecan salad. Ironically, it arrived without a single pecan, and the lettuce seemed a bit soggy, as though it wasn't as fresh as it could have been. I mentioned it to Von, and he immediately apologized and brought out a serving of pecans so I could enjoy the salad as intended. His quick response and excellent customer service turned what could have been a bigger disappointment into a minor hiccup. Overall, I had a very enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant was clean, the service was outstanding, the meal was satisfying, and the staff made us feel welcome. Aside from the issue with the salad, everything else met my expectations. My friends and I dined in at Outback two weekends ago and had a great time. We were celebrating our friends Australian citizenship approval. We started off with two bloomin onions and as well as their famous bread and butter. The sauce that comes with the onion is so delectable. We should've ordered one onion because we didn't end up finishing either of them! I ordered the grilled shrimp with broccoli and a Caesar salad. The broccoli was very buttery and flavorful and the shrimp was season to perfection. Our service was very quick and the host staff was very kind. Came today for Sunday lunch. Our server was great - super nice and helpful. I saw a new item on the menu: beef and barley soup so I had to give it a try. I ordered the bowl cause I know it's a slightly bigger portion and I wanted to enjoy it. Taste wise: it was a little on the peppery side, but I like pepper so it was good for me. I ordered the three course meal. It does come with soup or salad and if you get a "premium" soup or salad there is an up-charge. I was okay with this and they tell you on the menu too. I chose the 6 oz sirloin option and broccoli. You have a few sides to choose from and can also up charge for a premium side. My sirloin was juicy and just how I ordered it. The broccoli was okay... I don't like it soggy so I asked to make sure it wasn't like that. It was crunchier which I what I wanted. The nice thing with the three course meal is that you get a cheesecake too. read more

A large group of coworkers and I came here to celebrate. Not only was the food delicious, the service was impeccable. For starters I ordered the bloomin' onion and the Fried Mozzarella boomerangs. They were both tasty but the bloomin' onion will always steal the show. This time I ordered off the lunch menu. I chose the Alice Springs Chicken with a loaded baked potato. Both were delicious. I wanted a steak for my birthday dinner and didn't want to go anywhere. Outback is close to where my mother lives, and I haven't had it in a long time. I ordered the 6 oz Petite Victoria's Filet Mignon with a baked sweet potato with the butter, cinnamon and brown sugar. I chose the Blue Cheese Chopped Salad but they sent the wrong one home and I honestly have no idea which salad it was supposed to be because it just wasn't one I've ever seen on the menu. We have done curbside at you newer location (Forest City Rd area near Lowe's) 3 times. All 3 were atrocious. Prior to that we did WEEKLY orders from their location across location opposite Metro Diner. Obviously, a new manager or curbside manager has been hired. All 3 times the orders were at least 1/2 hour late, we were lied to several times, promised a credit would be issued (wasn't!), orders were wrong, food was cold, medium rare steak was way over done, promised complimentary sodas that never came. It's a shame. Hopefully a new Restaurant Manager will be hired and the curbside department will be trained. Totally inept, unprofessional and the food simply wasn't good. read more

Our server Christine was lovely, she was attentive and took care of our needs. That's the only reason I'm leaving 2 stars. However there were other areas of concern, the bone in ribeye we ordered didn't have a bone in it, the "bone" was less than an inch and mostly cartilage and gristle. I had planned on taking the scraps home to my dog afterwards. Christine let a manager know, when they came by the to table she didn't even mention the issue. I said it tasted fine and asked if she was there in regard to the ribeye. I didn't expect much bc really it's not a huge deal, but what upset me was the half hearted apology and no effort to remedy the situation or address it. That being said the steak did taste good and was at the right temp. In addition, outside of the manager and our servers control, an older male server in an adjacent section repeatedly made comments about our food choices and consumption that made us uncomfortable. It started with a casual compliment about my hair (no problem there) then on my twin lobster dinner saying that I hadn't eaten very much of it; he offered to take my plate out of the way (I wasn't done yet) while ignoring my mothers empty dinner plate. He kept a close eye on us while dining and kept trying to interject in our banter. Later when my mom went to the restroom he asked about our meal and who was paying, subliminally joking that he uses his family for money too. My family and I went to dinner at the Outback Steakhouse on Monday evening. Von was our server. He was so attentive and observant to our needs during our meal. He was quick to refill sodas and bring out another warm bread after we had devoured the first one. We also had a blooming onion as an appetizer. It was done to perfection. We ordered off of the 14.99 three course meal menu. Such a great menu with tasty choices to pick from. We sat in a booth and we enjoyed our perimeter location. The windows had pull down window coverings to block out the sun and glare. We were full and happy with our experience. We had our cheese cake packed up to go home for later. Never in my life would I have thought I'd be giving Outback Steakhouse 5 stars, but here I am! This location was fantastic! From the bright, airy, and clean seating area to the friendly and super attentive staff, to the delicious food- it was all a great experience! We liked how there was one main waitstaff taking care of each table but a team effort with the other items (bringing us bread, beverages, apps, etc), which causes less waiting time, in my opinion. The food was so good and portions very generous (compared to other locations we've been to). I was so bummed I couldn't take my leftovers with me (we're staying in a hotel). Keep up the great job. This is still a good place to eat and they are good for large groups. We were celebrating a birthday. The new location is in a great spot. The only thing we didn't love is that some of us got different glasses for the same drinks and it kind of looked like they were not all the same amount. Even though we visited on a Friday evening for my birthday dinner, our wait for a table was brief, though I did call ahead. The atmosphere and ambiance were pleasant; however, we both noticed that the music was a little loud for conversation. Our waiter was both professional and charming. The black bread loaf was fresh and hot enough to immediately melt the butter. My Caesar salad was generously garnished with dressing and fresh parmesan, along with sufficient croutons. My husband was so enthralled with his fancy wedge that he finished every morsel even after our entrees arrived. My tender, tasty ribs were impressive, but I also appreciated having the extra barbecue sauce for dipping, because it was so-o-o good. The baked potato was properly cooked without the peeling being too crusty to eat and contained plenty of toppings minus the sour cream, which I requested to be omitted. The tender steak was cooked to the requested medium and was not overly seasoned. My husband ate his coconut shrimp and complete baked potato with everything but saved much of his steak. Most of my steak, a single rib, and a part of one half of my baked potato remained for lunch the following day. I chose the dessert our waiter recommended and played a part in making sure that's what was delivered when he brought a chorus of co-workers with the special delivery approved by the manager. Her additional kindness and generosity made my day even more special. The chocolate tower cake was magnificent, and we're still eating the scrumptious leftovers 3 days later--a pleasant, unique reminder of a beautiful, memorable event! Went in for the Tuesday special and it was so good the lobster the steak. For only 24.99 you can upgrade to the 8 oz for 2 additional dollars. I didn't decide to do that nonetheless It was amazing, no complaints on the food. The server was not bad I love seeing other servers help one another out. First time trying this location and it was a good experience. Came to meet a friend for dinner on Friday night and it sure does get busy. We got lucky and with a full place we got a table right away. The restaurant is comfortable with a combination of booth or tables for seating. The look and feel is that of a typical steakhouse. The food was good and I was pleased with the taste and quality of my meal. I ordered the grilled shrimp on the barbie with a baked potato and a caesar salad. You get bread with butter and that was good too. I settled for a glass of sauvignon blanc, but they have good cocktail and beer options. For dessert, we split the butter cake and it was good. I came here back on September 16th, 2023 but completely forgot to write a review. It was an experience I will never forget. It took over 40 minutes to have our orders taken, the table was dirty when we were seated, there were no utensils at our table, and when it was time to get our check the server took 45 minutes to come. A complete waste of my time- we honestly should've gotten up and left but we stayed and tipped well despite the horrendous service. My husband and I are super understanding and kept trying to give the staff the benefit of the doubt but at a certain point it became clear that the staff was just lollygagging. They were just standing in a cluster talking to each other and laughing literally the whole time. While we were there, a customer had to yell out "Excuse me!" (startling the whole restaurant) just to get service- ridiculous. We should've been done with our dining experience an hour and a half before we were, but service was slow for no clear reason. There weren't a lot of people in the restaurant- maybe it was just our server that took a while- but a family of 6 was seated about 20 minutes after we were and were able to leave before our food even came! I liked the food, my husband said it was bad so who knows. I generally like Outback, but I won't be returning to this location obviously.
