I guess that stressed the tree enough to the point that it couldn't defend itself: it was infested with pine bark beetles. Within days we watched it go from semi-brown on a few branches to totally brown. Wow. Called Texas Tree Elite as soon as they opened on a Monday morning. Within hours, Jose was here to give us an estimate. Since this tree was perilously close to the power lines, it would be a little more expensive to remove. Received a fair quote, and the next day the crew was here. In about an hour, this tree was gone, stump ground, yard cleaned. What a crew! I contacted 4-5 companies over a week for quotes, knowing availability, professionalism, service, and cost would vary across companies. I was able to schedule the initial quote with R F Trees with ease via text and they were very flexible with my schedule, responsive, and very communicative in coordinating - From coordinating the time, messaging me when Tony was on his way, and when he arrived (2minutes early, at that!). The quote took 15min, and Tony provided a written quote as well as current dates his crew could be available. As a female homeowner, I dread getting estimates for projects the same way I do when I take my car into the dealer for service...However, Tony was professional, provided a fair, reasonable, and comprehensive quote, and was genuine throughout. I told Tony I was getting quotes and would revert within a couple days. We needed a very tall Ash tree removed, a number of broken, dead and overgrown branches removed and we further needed to raise the canopy so our house was visible from the street and the our backyard didn't feel so closed in over the pool. When I called, he came out promptly to give us a quote. We surveyed our property together, discussed what we wanted done, and he made some suggestions about how he would trim the trees for safety and best growth. In comparison to other quotes we felt he gave us a very fair price. On the scheduled work day, Zack and his helper, Jaime, arrived 10 minutes early and began taking down the Ash tree in our front yard, close to the house, that had died. He and his helper have a technique to remove the large heavy branches to prevent damaging the house and the lawn so no huge dents in the lawn and no damage to our house or other landscaping. After that, they moved methodically from tree to tree removing everything we had agreed upon. I watched as he considered which healthy but overgrown branches to cut so the trees would not only look good, but grow nicely. Jaime carried away ALL the debris and fed it into the wood chipper.
