The trimmer crew was very professional - they had hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, boots, and all the right safety equipment - you would have thought I hired the Forestry service - which is what they could be but us regular ol' homeowners get to hire them! We had a large oak in our front yard that took a beating from Beryl last year. We had tree company guys knocking at our door quite often saying they could remove the tree, the prices they quoted were very high. I called Tim to come take a look at the tree. Rather than suggest removing it, he said the tree was still healthy but needed to have dead branches and broken limbs removed. One branch had even grown out to the street light and was resting on the arm going out from the pole. Tim's crew not only cleaned up that tree but also took dead limbs and suckers from other oaks and sweet gums making our house look better with more curb appeal. And his price was so reasonable. One of the most beneficial things they do is "open up" the insides of the trees (most of ours are live oaks and water oaks, but we also have a magnolia and crepe myrtle) to help optimize the amount of sunlight that gets to the yard itself. One of the problems in our tract home subdivision (Woodridge Forest, Porter) is that the original landscapers overplanted live oak trees, so as they grow, less and less sunlight gets to the grass: eventually, instead of a lush lawn, you end up with mostly dirt.

I contacted 4-5 companies over a week for quotes, knowing availability, professionalism, service, and cost would vary across companies. I was able to schedule the initial quote with R F Trees with ease via text and they were very flexible with my schedule, responsive, and very communicative in coordinating - From coordinating the time, messaging me when Tony was on his way, and when he arrived (2minutes early, at that!). The quote took 15min, and Tony provided a written quote as well as current dates his crew could be available. I guess that stressed the tree enough to the point that it couldn't defend itself: it was infested with pine bark beetles. Within days we watched it go from semi-brown on a few branches to totally brown. Wow. Called Texas Tree Elite as soon as they opened on a Monday morning. Within hours, Jose was here to give us an estimate. Since this tree was perilously close to the power lines, it would be a little more expensive to remove. Received a fair quote, and the next day the crew was here. In about an hour, this tree was gone, stump ground, yard cleaned. What a crew! Excellent service with a skilled crew who were very conscious of the neighboring trees, the power lines and our yard. Highly recommended.
