I guess that stressed the tree enough to the point that it couldn't defend itself: it was infested with pine bark beetles. Within days we watched it go from semi-brown on a few branches to totally brown. Wow. Called Texas Tree Elite as soon as they opened on a Monday morning. Within hours, Jose was here to give us an estimate. Since this tree was perilously close to the power lines, it would be a little more expensive to remove. Received a fair quote, and the next day the crew was here. In about an hour, this tree was gone, stump ground, yard cleaned. What a crew! I was able to schedule the initial quote with R F Trees with ease via text and they were very flexible with my schedule, responsive, and very communicative in coordinating - From coordinating the time, messaging me when Tony was on his way, and when he arrived (2minutes early, at that!). The quote took 15min, and Tony provided a written quote as well as current dates his crew could be available. As a female homeowner, I dread getting estimates for projects the same way I do when I take my car into the dealer for service...However, Tony was professional, provided a fair, reasonable, and comprehensive quote, and was genuine throughout. From beginning to end, both my husband and I were impressed. With a pine tree next to our driveway (kissing on a nearby oak) that seemed to have a compromised base, I was anxious to have this tree removed prior to the TRUE onset of hurricane season. We also have quite a few other trees on our property that had become overgrown and were touching or impeding either our house or our neighbors' houses. I called Jose to request a quote, and within days he was here to give us a written estimate. His company is fully bonded and insured. We thought his estimate seemed very fair, but we had also scheduled to receive an estimate from our "usual" tree service, who came out the same day (after waiting nearly a week for a reply). Shade Tree's estimate was better - AND, he was able to come out the following week to complete the job (rather than waiting two weeks as our other estimate indicated we would need to wait in order for him to complete the job).
