We needed to bring in professionals after my husband tried for 6 hours to install a lock by himself. LOL. We ordered a new lock keypad for our outside gate (extra security) and received a reasonable quote from Gate Services Pros. I had Victor and Publio for my garage and gate services and they were both great, the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they both were on separate jobs and both had to come back a second time. One due to the gate not shutting and the other due to a garage clicker not having been activated so it didn't work with the garage door. My existing gate operator stopped closing. One call and someone was at my home the same day to diagnose and move forward with replacement the following day. When a technology issue could not be resolved upon installation I was told they'd have it remedied quickly and refused payment until I was satisfied with the product and install---even said if needed they'd replace with another more expensive operator with no price increase if they could not get the tech issue resolved! I was shocked at the level of service. You just don't find this kind of care much anymore. Called on a weekend just to see if I could possibly get someone to come out and look at my gate. The man who answered the phone was very condescending. Made me feel bad about calling on a weekend. And because the last time they sent someone out to check in my gate, nothing was wrong and made it seem like it wasn't very important. Well, my gate has broken many times and they are not diagnosing it correctly and I feel like they are not trustworthy. Initially I was very discouraged that, for some unknown reason, my Swing gate just stopped responding to my Multi Code clicker remote. The gate would not open automatically unless I went in to the control box and pushed a button (not good if you are driving). Grrrr. Did what trouble shooting I could do (check battery, power to gate, etc). So I called 3 gate repair companies and remembered this company from a NextDoor recommendation. So I called them (other 2 never got back to me) and spoke to Ryan Woods (one of the owners), explained my problem and the urgency. Long story short, they sent their tech Publio over 2 days later (Tuesday PM to Thursday AM wait). He very competently did some analysis on what the problem was (bad circuit board ugh $$) and said he would be back they PM with the right part. What I loved MOST was that Publio took the time to EXPLAIN THE PROBLEM, how he went thru his steps to figure it out, answered my questions (am a techy nerdy engineer type). Very secure, friendly, understands customer service. Sure enough, Publio returned back that afternoon, replaced the bad circuit board, checked all the circuits to make sure the gate operated and I paid him on the spot. DONE! Yeah! read more

DO NOT use this company. They did not show up on time and then said it would be $1400.00 to install a bolt and rehang a gate. Having had many gates and repairs in the Houston area this is beyond perposterous. I called a gate company not a fence company because my gate needed a small repair and had explained what the issue was when I called for service. read more

These guys go by several names: Houston Gate Company, Houston's Own Gate Company, Gate Service Pros, and Garage & Gate Service Pros, with several different phone numbers. I had busted a hinge on my driveway gate. I called them and they sent someone out who quoted $2200 to repair the gate. Should have checked someone else, but I agreed to the deal. When the repair guy arrived, he didn't have the needed parts and had the wrong idea of what was to be done. Called the company and got that straightened out (I thought). When a different repair guy arrived, he did a good job on the metal work, but the repainting was terrible, just a quick spraying. No priming, no sanding or cleaning of old flaking paint. No painting of the posts, just the gate itself. The paint is already coming off in places. The spray paint wasn't even a rust-preventative paint, even though they had said we could provide our own paint as long as it was a Rustoleum-type paint. I figured later that the materials costs couldn't be over $300, and $1900 in labor for the 4 1/2 hours work seems ridiculously high. Would never use them again. Updated: Not long after this review posted, the company contacted me. The owner came out and agreed that the paint job was terrible. So they came back out and redid the painting much better, sanding down the metal, priming it, and doing a much better job of painting. I'm now satisfied with their work. So I've updated this review to reflect that. read more
