Update: I just had Fences by Grant do additional fence work for me at the house that I bought in Cypress. (This is the fourth job that they have done for me since 2020.) The home was built in 2002 and the fence was original and rotted. I had them replace three of the sides in 2021 and just had another section replaced yesterday. Yankie (one of the owners) asked me if I wanted to put a doggie window in the fence; I said sure! They only charged me $50 to purchase and install the window; see photos for detail. Again, I highly recommend this company. They offer a one year written warranty. You have to wait a little while for them to get to you because they book up fast, but I think that they are worth it! read more

I requested to have two wood gates removed and new one installed. it was ok to wait over about six months to get them replaced and installed. I was told they would be custom mad to match ground contours. The mistake I made was to pay the balance before I was satisfied. There are boards that have gap. the double gate do close together there late gap between them. the distance between the bottom gate and ground are large enough for small dog to slip underneath do I had to buy flattened stepping stone to place under gate. one reason I used Grant was they build the gate with metal frame . If you look at them they are not even with each othe even though the gate close nicely. That drives me nuts every time I look at the backside of the gat. like I said they say and charge for custom made . I feel and seeing them daily it does not seem custom . I did email them my complaint and concern before the job was finished. That did help considerably because they did make changes. But they said that's the best they could do. And I was just so frustrated. I agreed to it and let them go. And then paid the balance. I just think they could have done a much better job. Mr. Grant and his crew recently replaced my town home's backyard 6 ft fence with an 8 ft fence and my wife and I could not be more pleased with the results. Backyard space is tight with these town homes with my main backyard area at 40 ft x 20 ft. Mr. Grant's crew did an outstanding job maneuvering in this small space to get the job done while braving the recent cold and rain. The crew was also very polite and and the lead crewman, Chris is very accommodating when you have questions or concerns as well. This is a family run company. I worked with Grant's wife to schedule everything and their grandson came out to measure for the quote. Grant was onsite most days working alongside the crew. This type of business model is so nice for customers because you don't have to worry about a crew showing up who hasn't been provided instruction or maybe isn't doing things to the standard of the business owner. The communication was great the entire time. More than a month out I was aware of how the schedule was shaping up (weather delays). They started fairly close to the time we expected (a few days late due to a lot of spring showers, which can't be helped). They worked long days everyday to make sure the job was done with in a week. The end product turned out great. It's a pretty standard fence so not much to note other than to say it looks great and I fully expect it to last a long time. After contacting at least 10 local fence companies in my area, Grant was the ONLY company that actually answered my call. So that right there is plus number one. Understandably, fence companies are busy right now, as we are all still recovering from Harvey, but I did not even get a call back from any other fence company. Grant even came by on a Sunday to accommodate to my busy schedule to get measurements for my bid. And another Sunday to make sure utilities had been properly marked. Any person who takes time out of their Sunday after church in dress clothes, to make a customer happy, is getting the business from me. The job he did was nothing short of 5 stars. He replaced 9 ft of fence with a gate in the pouring down rain. My yard is on a slope so the amount of time he took to make sure every slat was measured properly was absolutely spot on. My gate has metal reinforcement on the backside, and top notch hardware. I have never had a gate replaced where the back side was reinforced. Not ever. And with large dogs, I need it and didn't even ask for it. They even hung up my beware of dogs sign. You will not be disappointed with Grant. I only wish I had more fence for him to install! Fences by Grant has been the most professional company I have ever dealt with and since we flooded I have dealt with many. I requested quotes on YELP and his was the first that answered. The other quotes were outrageous and one company simply said sorry... your job is too small. I spoke to his sweet wife who gave me a rough estimate but the final estimate was done when they came to measure and to physically look at the fence. They came out on a Saturday which is not typical. Paypal is used for payment and everything was done via email from signing the contracts to receipts and warranty. The fence itself is magnificent and I was pleasantly surprised that each gate came with a custom made metal piece that stabilize the gate doors, I LOVE IT!. Rot boards are also included.What I also LOVE is that Mr. Grant himself came out for my job and he and his crew worked all day to finish , they didn't even leave for lunch.
