Thanks for the response Eli. I was told politely at home depot that they were unable to do "do not duplicate" but suggested that only professional locksmiths could preform this. Which is when I found Eli. I Was never asked for any sort of documentation (to "prove it") though I have it available easily upon request. After hanging up frustrated, being treated as an inconvience, I went to folsom lock and key and the process went smoothly without any attitude- which I guess is why they have been in business since 1962 (over 50 years). Eli was awesome!! He is honest and very knowledgeable about what makes a lock work properly. Initially we thought we needed a new lock but he told us we had a good quality one and it was not the lock but the door, the latch and various other parts which were misaligned.
