Good food and a fun atmosphere. Great locals vibe. The staff was accommodating and very friendly even though we were not locals. Cuban sandwich was very good as were the mild buffalo wings. Drinks were competitively priced. My only complaint is it was so cold outside they had to place an extra floor heater out in the guest area. They were trying. Went in today for some food and a drink after my motorcycle ride. Wings were great and the drinks that the bartender made were top notch, she also made some good suggestions for new drinks to try. Pre-Covid i was a frequent visitor to Our Bar. Food has been good and the atmosphere fun. On Friday i went to see if they had reopened. I was thrilled to see that there is a sign outside not allowing patrons without masks. However when i went in the only person wit a mask was the bar tender. Everyone of the 20 plus patrons did not. In the midst of this attempted recovery why are you trying to destroy the gains that we made in the last 4 months. I look forward to going back but there is no way i am risking infection. Doubled down on Our Bar the past two days as I've had great drinks but even better food! Whomever is in their kitchen rocked out a Tri-Tip Sandwich that was beyond amazing! Th place is garbage... ok ok maybe I'm being dramatic but the bouncer was as total douche. I wish I had some long story about how it went all bad but I don't. My bf and I walked in to have a drink and grab some food because everything was closed and they were open with a 4 Star yelp review. Well the bartender checked our ID because no one was at the sliding door and we were good. I'm looking over the menu and the bouncer comes over TRIPPIN. Like T-R-I-P-P-I-N! For no damn reason and asks for ID again. He was on a major power trip. The bf and him exchange pointless words because my boo wants to know what his deal is? Like bruh, why you so mad? Short story, we leave having wasted our time. His anger was totally uncalled for though, there wasn't two sides to this story. He was mad I'm assuming because he didn't check our ids himself at the door? I don't even know, but I hope he finds joy in his angry life. Side note to the person (Ross) saying my bf raised his voice, you're right. When someone is being rude, that's what happens... He was rude to me too. I get that bouncers feel the need to come off as intimidating but we didn't go somewhere to spend money to be treated unkindly. First off - I had no idea they had such an extensive menu. It took some quality time for my party of 6 to decide what we wanted. We waited quite a while for the food but didn't mind as the conversation was flowing and there was some great music playing in the background, until there wasn't. For no discernible reason the music switched to rap (no biggie, I love me some rap) but they CRANKED the volume. It was a Sunday pretty early in the afternoon - maybe 2pm. We could no longer hold on a conversation but we were able to hear the table behind us singing along very loudly. Aha, they must be the reason for the change. Ok, we tried to roll with it but it was loud enough to give me a headache. After 20 minutes of waiting for our food I asked the service to make our order to go as the music was too loud. She agreed, didn't offer to turn it down, or anything in the way of an apology. I don't know if we deserved one but I felt a little slighted. Mind you our server had been nothing but awesome to that point. She gave us plenty of time to decided and dealt with all of our menu questions with enthusiasm. I think Our Bar might just be a tad to "young" for me. As for the food-it was ok. My shrimp tacos were hella spicy as advertised but they didn't offer much in the way of flavour beyond burning my tongue. The Cuban sandwich was the big winner. The turkey chili was described as bland. My twin had some sort of wrap that she was disappointed in as well. Over all it was a bust for us. Finally after hearing so many people rave about the avocado fries, I made it in to try them for myself. We stopped in on a Monday about 12:30. It was a holiday, but even still, I surprised by the lack of people in there. I think there was one or two other guests and the remaining people all worked there. By the time we left though, the tables and bar had filled up considerably. First order of business was a beer. The beer glasses are REALLY cold, so cold in fact that you start to get little beer ice cubes in your glass. We ordered the avocado fries as an appetizer and got the Korean Beef Tacos and the Southwest Cheesesteak Wrap as our entrees. The fries took an awfully long time to come out. I'm wondering if maybe the oil for the fryer wasn't hot yet so that slowed it down? Anyway, this is a very generous serving! The parmesan on top works really well, the outsides are nice and crispy, and the insides are still nice and creamy. The sauce is a little sweet, but works really well with the avocado. I really liked these, but there were just so many of them, that with our entrees, we couldn't eat the whole basket between the two of us - I'd recommend sharing one basket with a group of 4 people. The tacos come in a pair and are served with tortilla chips and salsa. It struck me as odd to serve a Mexican side with a Korean flavored taco. The chips were a little stale and the salsa wasn't anything to rave about. The first thing I noticed when I bit into the taco was overwhelming sweetness. But then a couple of bites later, you got to the creamy sriracha sauce. Maybe if the sauces were evenly distributed so you got a bit of each in every bite it would be better, but that sweet sauce is just way too much on its own. The meat was really tender, I did recognize the slaw, so I'm guessing the cabbage had some time to soften up instead of being crisp and providing a variance in textures. The cheesesteak wrap was a nice size and came with a good portion of fries. I had a small bite of it and it's definitely something that I'd order next time I was in there. There were several other items on the menu that intrigued me as well. Because of this, I think I'll have to make another stop in soon to try something other than the Korean tacos. read more

I would say this review is 3.5, but I will bump up since I liked my food order. First, service was grand, had Brooke and she made me feel welcome and did a great job with prompt service. I had never been here before, so I was confused on what to do, where to order, was there table service (?), etc. I like Brooke if it wasn't for her it would be 2.5 stars. Here's my gripes before my pleasants, first no lock on the men's bathroom, no soap, odd seating style in the dining area w/ a pool table taking up dining space, whereas in the bar area would make more sense, WAY TOO LOUD MUSIC, it's like LEVEL 10 when you could deal w/ LEVEL 8, but Level 6 would be ideal for the hours. I can understand LOUD MUSIC if it's past dining hours, like after 10PM, but I was drinking and dining 6-9PM, and it wasn't comfortable for me unless I was in PARTY ALL NIGHT MODE and not a nice chat w/ coworkers after a long and stressful day. Burger was very good, I would almost give it 5 stars but not huge, but TASTY. Overall, I like this place, but the LOUD MUSIC is a HUGE TURNOFF, and I like music when it's NIGHTTIME and DANCING TIME. The only good thing is the music wasn't constant, people were playing the modern jukebox on the wall, on and off. You have to have a lock on the men's bathroom doors, that is just not something I can feel comfortable with, especially when some random idiot interrupts my important and deep conversation w/ my manager about work, telling us how, "He found a piece of bacon in the back of his mouth and how it changed his night" He thinks he is funny, and then wants to be congratulated, which my boss politely does. When I won't follow, idiot proceeds to tell me I am too serious because I don't find him funny or charming for abruptly interrupting my private table conversation while he walks by to use the restroom. You never know if said idiot wants to follow you and cause trouble when you don't find his antics measurable to his perceived ego of funny. Also, I just don't like peeing w/ my back to an unlocked door in a small space, you keep feeling like someone's going to come in any second, or they do, then close the door, and wait. It's really awkward and unneeded especially when the place looks nice. Why did I see the bathroom so much? Well, that's the best place to park dining tables vs. the actual dining area, where there is a pool table! So overall, 3.5 stars, rounded up because the food and service were above strikingly above average! read more

Well it's the first time and it came with great recommendation from Donna and Kemp. Ok let's see what I'm gonna have. After looking at a very tasty looking menu I went with the bacon wrapped dog. And just be fair the bacon dog was supposed to have peppers and onions on it but, I don't do either.Ham hamburger and the pickle fries. The dog was great not to much bun and very tasty. Then on to the ham hamburger, YUMMY! I asked for it medium rare and BAM that's how it came out. Piled high with ham and pickles and a great juicy burger. And the pickle fries were very good. The bartender was also the waiter and he did better than most places with separate staff. I also like that the kitchen was open and very clean with nothing to hide behind doors and walls. The music coming from a touchtunes jukebox and everyone having a great time, yeah that and the awesome staff and food will definitely have me coming back for more. make sure you check in before you order because our great community resource manger help them plant a nice treat for those that check in. I've been back a few times since my original experience with the questionable "Korean" style beef tacos. The first time I went back, the bartender stated it was happy hour, and then after a quick pause, went on to explain what the happy hour deals were. Not sure if I was recognized from my previous review (where I had mentioned that stating it's happy hour to a customer isn't useful if you don't tell them what the specials are). I've had a few of their other food items, and generally had positive experiences. Nothing special, but solid food at an affordable price, and a kitchen that's open late . . . just need to stick to basic items. Bartenders did greet me with a blank look when I asked for a negroni, and I had to instruct them what it was. While I realize it's not the most common cocktail, we've got places in town that have negronis on tap, as well as spots that participate in Negroni Week. Bottom line is that this feels like a locals bar and a bit of a throwback. While it's close to downtown and Midtown, there's no hipster vibe (hence the fail with Korean tacos and negronis). Their strengths are definitely basic food and drink, done at a fair price. read more

George, the owner, and an incredible guy is outstanding customer service in every way!! He Knows how to run his business. A family business, by the way. Prices here for their incredible food is the best in Reno!!! The tastes of all menu items is fantastic. They run excellent Daily Specials at the bar every day and totally worth it. The old brick building next to downtown Reno's Methodist church has seen a lot of history since 1936. Renovated and reinvented in 2011 as Our Bar, it has gained a following among folks who plan their calendar around pub crawls and similar entertainments. They've got a pool table, competition darts, blaring jukebox, a burger/beer/shot deal for $10 and a Monday happy hour (7 p.m. to closing) featuring 8.8 percent ABV draft beer for $3 a pint. I'm told the cleaning guy really hates Tuesday mornings, but at least the spartan, bare brick and welded-steel interior should make cleanup easier. I'm too domesticated for weeknight bacchanals, but the food menu looked like something I should check out. On the Saturday afternoon following Thanksgiving the place was nearly empty, thus my wife and I received a personal level of service from the bartender/server and chef. Both men are clearly proud of the place, so one hopes they keep that level of enthusiasm when the place is packed. The menu categories are pretty standard, with deep-fried appetizers, soups and salads, burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, tacos and wraps, but the dishes are anything but average. We settled on avocado fries ($6), mahi fish tacos ($7), a pastrami burger ($9) and a portobello burger ($7). I only wish I'd been able to talk more people into joining us that day so I could taste a broader sampling of the chef's creativity. Our appetizer featured a whole avocado that was sliced, seasoned, battered and deep-fried. This was served with a mildly spicy dipping sauce, which made the whole thing work. The fatty richness of avocado is compounded by being fried, but the sauce smoothed out the experience. I recommend ordering this with friends because a few slices go a long way. The fish tacos were excellent, a pair of lightly crisped flour tortillas filled with grilled mahi-mahi, ginger lime slaw, cucumber pico de gallo and avocado crema, served with housemade tortilla chips and a salsa that was more of a tomato puree. It tasted fresh but didn't have much heat. I barely got a bite of my wife's portobello burger before it disappeared. A whole portobello mushroom is marinated in balsamic vinegar and green onion, grilled with caramelized onions, then topped with cotija cheese and lettuce on a locally baked bun. It was every bit as delicious as that sounds, and available with either a side salad or fries. The one misstep of our visit was my wife's salad arriving in the form of crispy, seasoned fries. It was a tasty mistake so we didn't bother mentioning it. My pastrami burger included a seasoned beef patty cooked just a tad under medium (their standard unless ordered otherwise), topped with Swiss cheese, grilled pastrami, lettuce, and ... potato chips. That last item was actually the deciding factor in choosing this burger, even though it seemed a bit over-the-top with fries on the side. I have a seventh-grade memory of trading my PBJ on homemade bread with a kid who had some kind of lunch meat on store-bought white bread. He taught me to put chips on the plain sandwich to make it more interesting, which seemed pretty exotic at the time. With this pastrami burger, though, I have to say the chips were more distraction than bonus. The crunch is kind of cool, but the potato chip flavor overshadowed everything else. The rest of the burger was quite good, so I'd probably skip the chips next time. There's a lot more on this menu my wife and I would like to sample, so a return visit to Our Bar is definitely on our horizon. read more

Very disappointed. The female bar tender was not nice at all. She wasnt welcoming either. My boyfriend and I wanted to try this place because RAD radio read a review of 5 stars! We sat at the bar and asked for a ling island, and it WAS NOT A LONG ISLAND. We asked her what she put in it and all she does was show us a pre maid pre mix bottle of the stuff and waked away. Wow! I must say, the food here was the best selection of bar food I have ever seen here in Reno. The menu is enormous! It is nice that they label the "favorite" items. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the actual bar and alcoholic drinks for I only had water. We ordered the Avocado Fries, Arizona Toothpicks, Caesar Salad, Caprese Salad, Mahi Mahi Tacos, and Spicy Tacos. Avocado Fries - They were ok, kinda bland, not my favorite. Deep frying an avocado ruins it. It's crispy on the outside and too soft inside. I am not in any way a texture person, but this was gross. Arizona Toothpicks- SO AWESOME!!! Nice and spicy. The crunch is perfect. They are jalapeno slices dipped in batter and then fried. The sauce given was a spicy aioli and was perfect to dip the "toothpicks". The same dip was given for the Avocado Fries but was not a good mix. Caesar Salad- Plain and not mixed well at all. It comes with the choice of either shrimp or chicken and we chose chicken. The dressing it came with was very unique. It had a lot of horseradish in it. I think that they may want to add that information on the menu in case of the event a customer does not like spicy. I forget if it was on there Caprese Salad - THIS WAS MY FAVORITE! They put ample amount of basil in uncut full leaf. The pieces were perfect and AMAZING! A must order. TACOS- They were good. I like that they have cucumbers in it. I think that I was not that impressed due to the fact that by the time I got to it, I was already stuffed! The service was good and fast. No complaints in that department. The music was quite low and couldn't hear the music we had paid for from the JUKEBOX. I would recommend this to any late night hungry bar hoppers. read more

Our new favorite bar in Reno! We're locals and are a little spoiled with all the different places to go for food and drink. Sometimes you want to just go to a comfortable place where you can have a drink and the food is good with a friendly atmosphere. My husband had the $10 burger/beer/shot and was happy to get a Genesee beer, a throw back to younger years in upstate New York. The shot was a decent bourbon. We had avocado fries. They are ridiculously good. They were busy, the place was noisy and the waitstaff incredibly patient and hard working. And friendly, everybody was friendly. That's what makes our new favorite bar....Our Bar is now "our" bar. read more

Came to eat here with 4 other people. Food was good and prices were very reasonable. About an hour after we were there a guy comes up to us and says he is the owner ( he smell like alcohol and is tipsy and best) and tells us that the music that we are paying for to be played in their sound system is that appropriate for that establishment because as he put it " there is a lot of white people here right now". The songs my friend was putting on were in Spanish yet they didn't say bad words or talk about drugs. Also didn't know that the tip was added for a group of 5. Don't know if this is a restaurant policy. I know the tip is usually added to a party of 8 or more and is stated so in the menu. read more

Family friendly but more of a college bar atmosphere. Several visits. Likes: Korean Tacos, avocado fries, Jack Daniels burger, Buffalo shrimp. Deserts. Bar. Dislikes: Bacon Wrapped Hot Dog, Turkey chili but this could just be us. Neither seems to have any flavor and the chili is way, way over-beaned. Beware sometimes the fried avocado and fries are way under cooked. Tell them ahead of time how you want them. They came out raw and soggy the first visit, OK the second visit. Condiment bottles are usually empty throughout the place. That's screwy. Fun atmosphere, great employees though sometimes lazy,, tricky parking. Went out for a girls night out on a rainy Tues night.... Walked in at 5 and the Bar only had three people in it at that time, but by the time we left at 7 it had over 20. The bartender (George) greeted me and asked if it was my first time here.... Then since it was went over all the happy hour specials and the menu. Letting me know what was top on his list of "good eats" This is on my Top list of Bars to go to in Reno now. Love the feel of the small/local bar. They also have a check in each time you go, that gives you discounts on drinks the more you check in. Both of our dinners where awesome and at a great PRICE, just cant beat it. This is the first real bar I've been to and it definitely gave me a great impression of bars! I was impressed with the service and the bartender's ability to spontaneously make a fruity drink for me. Since they don't have a cocktail menu, I asked for a drink with pineapple or mango flavor in it, and he made me a tangy, sweet pineapple drink that I really enjoyed. It also had just the right amount of alcohol to balance the sweet fruit flavor. My friend and I also each ordered a burger, and they are filling, juicy, and come with fries. Even though the place had a lot of people, our burgers came fairly quickly and were delicious. I ordered the Jack Daniels burger and would definitely recommend it, for the flavor and also the juiciness of the beef. The vibe was very laid back and they played some older classics, as well as the popular new songs. My friends and I wandered in here during the Leprechaun Crawl. I just asked for a water and my friends ordered some drinks and a couple burgers. The bartender took my friend's order wrong, and when we tried to get it corrected, the bartender was really snotty about it. A group of guys came in and obviously knew the bartender because he started helping them and being friendly and completely ignoring us. I asked him for a straw and he told me he'd be right with me. I watched him tend to his friends only. 15 minutes later I asked for a straw again and he seemed put off by it. Our food finally came and it was so delicious it completely trumped our bartender's crappy attitude. There was another bartender who helped us out towards the end of our visit with full tattoo sleeves and he was a total sweetheart. Really like the vibe this place has going. My friend had been telling me how much she enjoyed this place, so we went to check it out. Didn't like that there is no parking besides on the street and you have to pay the meter. Made me feel rushed. Once you walk inside, we were greeted by the bartender who was cleaning up spots for us to sit at the bar if we wanted. On one side you can order food at a window, then there are tables to sit at, where you do not have to sit at the bar to eat. My husband and I both really enjoyed the food. I had the Cuban sandwich with salad and he had the Puertorican sandwhich with fries. The food was cooked to order and came out hot. The woman who took our order was very friendly and even gave us some friendly advice for our short stay in Reno. We're were there very late and the place was loud and busy like a typical bar. Not an easy place to have a conversation. It might be slower earlier in the day, I can't speak to that. It did feel more like a local hang out than a tourist place. I want to start off this Review by saying that Our Bar isn't your average downtown, college bar with your average crowd - which is in no way a negative! From the crowd to the environment/atmosphere, to the drinks and food, Our Bar has been my go to bar since I first discovered it back in 2014 when it was called just 'Bar'. I've spent countless days, nights, shoot even the occasional morning and subsequently the entire rest of the day here and I've become very familiar with the staff, the menu and the place as a whole. If you're looking for a guys night out and want to play some darts and some pool with your friends, this is the place to go! Looking for a bar that isn't as loud/crowded as most in the area (Unless it's a crawl night) so you can spend some one on one time with a significant other or first date? This is the place! The food is awesome! I've never tried anything that I didn't enjoy here and I especially love their avocado fries and their Cuban Style Panini! Can't go wrong with either. Although I no longer drink alcohol I never feel any pressure at Our Bar and I can't say the same for other bars in the area. They have always had a great selection of beers on top and a wide range of specials from a shot and a beer for $4 on certain days to specials on, what some of my friends say, is the best Bloody Mary in town! I went to eat lunch Friday (three days ago) the food and service was great, however I didn't finish my burrito and took it home for leftovers I warmed it up and as I bit into it a piece of hard plastic was inside the burrito I freaked out and thought it was glass at first (I even took pictures of it) actually bummed out I didn't catch it while I was actually there eating but I did call to let someone know and I was told I would get a call back from the owner, I have yet to get a phone call but it was pretty sad completely grossed me out and I couldn't even eat the burrito after ended up throwing it away!
