I'm not from the area and ended up here after dropping my kids off nearby. Since it's a holiday weekend, everywhere else seemed packed, and then I found this place with no wait. At that point, breakfast was calling and I wasn't asking too many questions. I'll admit, my first impression was a little iffy. The restaurant was pretty empty, and they tried to seat me right by the front door. It's hot and muggy today, and apparently I'm delicate, so I asked if I could move closer to the air conditioning. They seemed a tiny bit grumpy about my request, and I started wondering if maybe I had discovered the reason for some of the reviews. But then things completely turned around! I'm also THAT customer because I happen to be allergic to black tea. So now I'm asking about green tea, white tea... basically anything that isn't trying to kill me. They were actually incredibly sweet about it and went completely out of their way to brew me green matcha tea and make it iced. That was so kind and definitely not something they had to do. And then the food came... and it was GOOD. I ordered a breakfast combo with eggs, sausage, hash browns, and French toast with macadamia nuts, chocolate chips, and strawberries. I got the whipped cream and syrup on the side because apparently I'm high maintenance in multiple areas of breakfast. The French toast was cooked perfectly and wasn't overly sweet on its own. The whipped cream was also really good and tasted homemade. I could control how sweet I wanted everything, which made it perfect. So I'm really glad I wandered in! My only little suggestion would be to bring some of the friendliness I experienced once I was seated to the moment people first walk through the door. Because once we got past my air-conditioning relocation request and complicated tea situation, they were genuinely sweet, went out of their way for me, and made me a really delicious breakfast. How did I even find this place? It's tucked away in a place I never go and stumbled into a hidden gem! The menu has so many items I want to try and it was very difficult to decide! Some unique items and some common items, I had to choose the chicken fried chicken. I was not disappointed. Juicy, flavorful, crunchy and tender... it was divine! The server was generally overwhelmed. He was the host with the most and serving all of the tables with very little support but did the best he could as there were no available tables in the place! This restaurant reminds me of the ones you see on TV that has potential but they are just stuck‍ They wasn't that busy and I wasn't immediately acknowledged that should've been a sign for me to leave but I decided to stay. I will include an updated Pic of menu as well. Speaking of the menu is straight forward yet over priced and chaotic. Charging 2.50 for a slice a toast ×2 is highway robbery when its one slice of bread cut in half. I placed my order and was very clear no powdered sugar and no whipped cream while the presentation was nice guess who got whipped cream and alot of it. I also paid 5.00 for what was billed as home fries which was a whole potato cut up and deep fried that was seasoned adjacent which was a complete let down. This was a serious disappointment. I am not sure where to begin. Service was on a one star level, no smiles, short exchanges. When our order was taken the woman, just walked away. Like she just left, so weird. Waited about 35 minutes for our food to come out and man, things got worse. My sunrise burrito was basically a potato burrito seasoned with egg and chorizo. If there was 1 egg in it I would be shocked. After two bites with nothing but potatoes I unwrapped and confirmed it was 90+ percent potatoes. I was done, it was so gross. Another staff members approached and asked if things were OK. I said no, I was unhappy with my food. She took my plate, laughed and walked away. The atmosphere is decent, the service is mediocre, at best - if you're after average breakfast prices, this is NOT the place for you. Pretty pricey for average breakfast options. $17-$20 for only 2 crepes + $10, if you want any add ons. I had breakfast with my mom on Saturday morning at 9:30. The dining room was empty when we arrived. Alex was friendly & he took our order straightaway. The lattes came out first. They were slightly sweet and likely came from an automated machine, but they were tasty. (I typically prefer my coffee drinks to be unsweetened though.) By the time we got our food, a few more customers arrived and made the place a bit more lively. Our crepes were good. My meatless crepe had mushrooms, spinach & onion, and it was light and well-cooked. The hash browns were my favorite & the side was enough for two people to share. The dining room is clean, bright & cheerful. I did notice that the prices are quite high compared to similar restaurants in the area. I think if entree prices were lowered by $2-3, Oui would entice more customers to dine with them. Our bill for two crepes, hash browns & two lattes was $56 before tip which was a little steep. We visited again today. Sadly we won't be going back. Our service was fine. Decor is kitschy, not a factor to us. We felt the prices are too high for a cafe / diner setting. You can look at menu photos over the last 3 years. Sadly everyone's costs are up. I get it. But the value is not here. My savory crepe was sweet ( not expected) & filled with ham & scrambled eggs. My husband ordered a ham & cheese omelette- was fine but too pricey. Strangely their omelette did not come with toast. Just potatoes. We asked, nope it's extra. So although everything was ok, there is not a good value for your dollars spent. One last point, I cut my finger on a burr on my fork, the chrome plating was peeling off. The steak and egg scramble for $27 should have more than 3 pieces of tiny scrap meat and overall had zero flavor The chilaquiles if you ask for no meat they automatically substitute with avocado and today they charged me $3 for it even though no meat equals free substitution for avocado like it has been each time I have ordered it Asked for blueberry cheesecake pancakes and came out regular pancakes with blueberries on top. Tried to fix it but truly was a disappointment and dry. Considering it's $21 it should be what I actually order Took others orders who were there after us while we were sitting around starving almost 30 minutes. Had to pull someone over because we couldn't wait any longer. Then when the food came out only one person was served. Then the next person 10 minutes later. So this is not your average Denny's. If you're looking for the price and the quality that you're paying for then this place isn't for you. They are a little bit spending but everything we ate was absolutely amazing. I'm not sure how I justified spending $21 on strawberry cheesecake pancakes But we did and I didn't regret it. Saturday, 11-09-2024: Our family came here after our grandson's soccer game. Thankfully, we arrived at an opportune time because it got crowded rather than quickly. We were greeted warmly since they're familiar with us and seated right away. It's very clean, bright, and comfortable, warmly decorated. We ordered breakfast and it's consistently very good. Our grandson opted for the Super Heroes pancakes. We couldn't believe he ate most of it. He worked up quite an appetite after playing hard at soccer.
