And I went back with a party of 10. Heidi was amazing and so was the food. This has to be on your list.

We stopped here on our way to Bar Harbor. It was around noon and there were just a few people there. We were quickly seated and waited on. I chose the Blueberry Walnut Salad with chicken while my partner had the lamb burger. We both were happy with our meals and the service. On our way back to Portland we stopped in again for lunch. I chose the halibut sandwich with macaroni salad. My partner chose the Blueberry Walnut Salad. Again, both meals were delicious. It's a nice comfortable restaurant which has outdoor seating if you're interested. Ample parking. Service was great. If we're ever in the area again, I'm sure we'll stop by.

Second time here since my original review early on after they opened. Thought it was time to give it another try. We had a nice evening, service was good with the new waiter, although things were really slow, I mean really slow! Apps were really good with the roasted brie and blueberries and the oysters. Entrees... ok, not great. Mixed reviews all around the table.

Service was great! Owner is very nice when you go ask about the Name Otto and where it's from. Highly recommend.

i really wanted to enjoy this place, but unfortunately, we didn't. the ambiance was fine, seemed to attempt at being an intimate and fine-dining atmosphere, but instead it sort of felt like you're sitting in someone's house. our waiter was very kind and attentive. i ordered the fettucine alfredo, it was okay but not warm - it had definitely been sitting out for a while. my friend ordered the blueberry walnut salad which she'd had before and loved, but unfortunately it was practically inedible this time. the tomatoes were mushy and almost rotten. when we mentioned this to (whom I'd assume was the owner/manager) she didn't apologize, didn't offer a replacement, and didn't comp anything. which is fine, but normally when someone tells you they didn't enjoy their food you attempt to remedy the situation, but instead she seemed offended. overall underwhelming, especially considering the price.

The food is incredible, the drinks are excellent, the service and the ambiance are truly amazing!

I would love to know where they get the decor for this place. I'd imagine a lot of flea markets (fabulous ones)? It's hard to pick my favorite decor item because there are so many, but it's somewhere between the chairs shaped like hands and the giant silver octopus tentacle under the T.V. Ooo and the corner with all the clowns! Drinks are strong and cheap. The bartenders are friendly. There's a patio, but it's a bit small. There are plenty of comfy chairs/couches. They have live music pretty often, so if that's your thing, you'll be happy there on weekend nights. The only thing is the space is kind of small for live music, so it can get really loud. This is an excellent chill option if you're in Hallowell and want to skip bars that tend to get a bit fratty like The Quarry Taproom. Highly recommend!

Friends of ours wanted to play some pool after we had dinner nearby at Lucky Garden, so we did exactly that. It was a slow night and no one was waiting for the table, so we played about 4 or 5 games and had a lovely time. The decor is awesome, the bar is clean, and the staff were friendly. I've always had a good time here, and I enjoy the artwork too!

His meathead bouncer was taking a picture of my sister in law's license plate and we got pulled over within two minutes of leaving the parking lot. Beyond this horrible business owner, his establishment was TOTALLY empty on a Friday night. Apparently everyone else got the memo that this place sucks and has taken their business elsewhere. I was visiting from California and it seems the bartender and bouncer had their eye on me for whatever reason from the minute I walked through the door and they scanned my ID. I'm an otherwise non-threatening looking, rather ordinary mid 30's lady. I certainly don't look like a problem. We were totally fun loving and appropriate patrons throughout our stay, right up until we were rudely accosted by these crappy people. Needless to say, we were banned for life. I have to say that I will GLADLY oblige this ban. This place BLOWS!

We were seated promptly and our drink orders went right in while we looked at the menu. I had never been here before, we asked what the server recommends. She was spot on. We started with a round of pulled pork nachos for the table. I went with shrimp tacos (aioli on the side as I was worried about spice level). Others at the table had the Reuben, chicken tacos, and house chili. Our drinks came out fast, the food was not far behind, our eyes were met with generous portions nicely garnished. The pulled pork nachos were exactly what we expected southerwestern-y cumin-y deliciousness assisted by sour cream, and fresh salsa goodness everything was perfectly seasoned. My shrimp tacos came with lime, avocado, and purple cabbage with spicy aioli on the side. The meaty shrimp with the crisp cabbage were all mellowed together by the creamy avocado. I would eat them for days. Everyone in my party cleaned their plates! The atmosphere is country-chic. There is a saloon decor vibe but it's also hipster steam punk meets old west. The main dining area is clean, spacious and was decorated for the holiday. By the time we left the dining room was a little over half capacity with folks peppered around the bar. It wasn't too noisy, there is country music in the background, but it was fine for conversation. The overall vibe is fun, light, and hospitable, plus there was a pinch of yule-time joy in the air. There is a front and rear entrance, parking is on the street. Around the back of downtown are assorted free parking lots there is also a free parking garage nearby as well, so parking is not a problem. Downtown Augusta is always dolled up this time of year with twinkling lights, snowmen, and such. I recommend The Whiskey Kitchen. Whether you need a space for a working lunch - there is Wi-Fi- looking for a special gathering for an occasion make The Whiskey Kitchen your destination!
