Stumbled upon this cute little park area as we were driving around exploring side roads from Old…read moreFort to Asheville. What a gem! This little community center seems to have a lot to offer: - The playground is a lot of fun- both our kids, ages 4 & 7, loved it! A well-kept wooden playground with swings (3 regular & 1 baby swing), a seesaw, a tire swing, and a big plastic sea monster for climbing. - Short paved walking loop with some benches, picnic tables and grill, and 1 of those little exercise stops and a creek flowing by (great for kids to splash around in!) - Large grassy field - Basketball court (half court) - Community garden - Large picnic table area with covered pavilion - Leashed dogs allowed (please pick up after them - there are poop bags along the sidewalk) The community center appears to be closed right now and I haven't checked out the website yet but there's a board with some info by the playground. It seems like they offer yoga classes (Free maybe? Says "donations accepted"), there's an ad for reiki healing, and a whole calendar of events for children and adults. This center definitely seems to run on donations and volunteers. We were happy to contribute to the painted metal donation post by the playground. Peaceful, safe, beautiful park areas like this are hard to find these days. We're passing through, as we're just frequent vacationers to the area, but I hope the community keeps up this little local gem!

I am so glad we found this! I saw someone posting about it on Instagram so we went to check it out…read moreand it did not disappoint! This is such a huge plus to the community with tons of displays and informational exhibits for kids. It's free to enter and our toddler really enjoyed the walking trails, the turtles and the water & train displays! Do check and make sure the water exhibit is open that day if it's in the summer bc of day camps if you're really wanting to see that. It is the coolest exhibit imo but they had a huge train table, tent for pretend play and tons of other educational toys for kids in the other rooms too They also took us down to see the reptile exhibit with turtles, snakes and lizards and it's a scenic route with waterfalls and cool architecture. Couldn't love this place more; it's a must visit!

What a lovely venue for children and families! I can't believe it's free. We are from out of town…read moreand have been here a couple times now, it's great to come here on rainy and sunny days. The Steam Lab and H20 rooms for my toddler and baby make this a great place to have a play date in Buford, especially on a Thursday when they are open until 7 pm (other days it's 4 pm). I didn't take pictures because of other children around, but whether your kids have high sensory needs like mine or you just want the option for indoor or outdoor play this was great for the kids to get to run around outside too. Will definitely be back, wish this was in my area!

Love this mountain community. Just spent several days here with the grands and they had a blast!…read moreFrom bear spotting and deer gazing, the beautiful woods offer so much to see. Over 50 miles of hiking trails, three lakes, a beautiful marina, and two pools, there is something for everyone. The girls loved the rock slide and both pools. There are ample lifeguards, which is reassuring. The Beach Club offers a pool and a beach on the lake side. There is an inflatable obstacle course which kids love, too. There are so many amenities, you always have something to do. We aren't golfers but the course is beautiful. The lodge restaurant is set to reopen soon after a complete renovation, but there is also a fabulous restaurant just outside the gate. (Yes, this is a gated community) The restaurant is called Home and it serves delicious meals. You can get something as simple as a great burger or something fancier like seared halibut. The girls loved the ice cream shop just outside the gate. There's another restaurant in the same plaza, called the Lucky Hare and it's supposed to be good as well. Big Canoe is the perfect place to visit, whether you are looking for adventure or a relaxing time in the woods, surrounded by countless wildlife.

Well first off, Mother Nature always comes through with the beautiful landscape!!!…read more We made our way into the Big Canoe neighborhood- up & around the windy road to our house/cabin 27 Laurel Ridge Lane Jasper, Ga. 30143 A beautiful house & BIG! 5 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths. This house had 5 beds & bunks in 1 bedroom- PERFECT for a large crowd. I am terribly sorry, but if I felt better I would have taken a TON of pics!! 3 stories!! Upstairs had 2 large bedrooms & jack/jill bathroom. Spacious!! Main floor had 1/2 bath, master bed/bath, large kitchen & a small living room area w/fireplace. Downstairs had 2 bedrooms & jack/jill bath, laundry & a spacious extra "livingroom" Long deck could view the golf course & beautiful mountains!!! There is a small screened in porch w/dining table too. Downstairs had ANOTHER deck with a hot tub (didn't use). If you are wanting a relaxing vacation spot, this is great! Houses are VERY close to eachother, but you really don't feel it! Enough space for all to truly relax & be safe in this beautiful gated community!! I'm sure not cheap. 4 couples split a 2 night stay at $200 each. We could have had at least another couple or 2 to split more! Bring extra coffee pods, TP, paper towels, napkins & food if you are staying over a few days. A full kitchen & lots of dishes, pots pans, etc! But not FULLY stocked. Go, relax & enjoy yourselves!!!
