Special Note: Dolly! We love and miss you already! You have built so much in the eastern Tennessee area and you were truly a blessed soul. Attractions: Dollywood has some fun rides and especially fun if you like rollercoasters. My favorite being the Wild Eagle! They had a new 2026 attraction called Nightflight Expedition which is one part motion screen/one part rollercoaster/one part water flume and I have never experienced anything like it before. The Lightning Rod is another great coaster that really shows you the views in the Great Smokey Mountains! I loved the attractions here! Entertainment: Great shows if you like or love country music! They even had Gospel Entertainment and they were unapologetic about offering it which was refreshing to see. Plus Dolly Parton music pumping out throughout the park. Theme: It is Dolly Parton all the way with tons of Butterfly's and country charm. The 1950's town theme bled into the rural country theme that bled into the Fantasy Forest theme to the country Nashville town theme. No space or Superheroes themes but isn't Dolly Parton a superhero in her own way (we miss you Dolly!) Special Theme: We were here for Great Pumpkin Luminights and it sure did deliver on the Halloween themed fun. I suggest a fall trip to Dollywood if you can!

Big Bear Mountain is the longest in the park and a great ride for the whole family. Lightning Rod is one of the fastest wooden coasters in the world. Wild Eagle gives you incredible views of the Smoky Mountains from the top. Dragonflier in Wildwood Grove is perfect if you have younger kids who want in on the fun. The new NightFlight Expedition that opened in 2026 is a unique indoor hybrid coaster and river raft ride that works in any weather, a great addition. Beyond the rides the park has real soul to it. Live Appalachian music playing throughout, craftspeople demonstrating woodworking and glassblowing, the Dolly Parton Experience museum, seasonal festivals and theater performances at the Back Porch Theater. You could skip the rides entirely and still have a full day. The cleanliness here is consistently remarked on and it's earned. Every corner of the park is well maintained and the staff are the friendliest we've encountered at any theme park anywhere. Go on a weekday if you can, weekends get packed. Buy tickets in advance. Wear comfortable shoes. Worth every mile of the drive from the Carolinas.

It's a little cheaper than some of the other coasters in town, but still a little pricey at about $17 a ticket after the 12.5% tax. The store is HUGE and just kept going and going. They have all kinds of different knickknacks and random stuff to look at. They also have rocking chairs where you can sit and chill or buy one. Overall, it was a fun place to stop and check out.

The mountain coaster was a lot of fun, had a short wait, and was only about $15. My favorite part, though, was feeding the goats on the roof! You buy goat food inside the gift shop for about $3 a cup, ($1 refill) pour it into a bowl, then pedal a bike that carries the food up a conveyor to the rooftop. The goats are already waiting, and it's hilarious watching them compete for the food. It's a unique experience that's fun for both kids and adults. Definitely worth the stop!

The axe throwing lane my husband was put on was missing half the target and the one my son was on was so worn it was near impossible to get the axe to stick. Tubing was fun, but it was HOT. I had shorts on and sitting on the tube literally burned my skin. Everything is metal in the park so it was all hot. The carnival rides were too geared toward little kids and didn't appeal to my 10 year old. Although we paid for an hour, we left after about 45 minutes there. Might be good for smaller children, besides the tubing.

The best part was the laser tag -- everything else was pretty underwhelming. The 4D simulator was only partially working, and the glasses felt cheap. The earthquake experience was disappointing... my car on a straight road moves more than that. Plan to go with plenty of time, because between everything, time flies and you'll easily spend at least three hours inside. If you're thinking about going after 6 pm, I'd recommend leaving it for another day and going earlier. And if you're choosing between this attraction and another one... there's really not much to think about.

It was a decent time, but the $250+ total price tag for 5 people felt intense. NOTES: -We hadn't done a "dinner show" before, and the chain of events was new to us. You show up 75 minutes BEFORE the 5PM show time to eat your dinner. You go through one of two buffet lines to fill your plate, and you sit yourself at picnic tables nowhere near the stage to eat. Rinse and repeat as many times as you want. 30 minutes before the show began, you're allowed to start seating yourselves anywhere you want in the show arena. Lots of people brought their drink cups with them to the stands, but I didn't see anyone with food at the show. -The show seats are covered with a giant wooden structure, heaters, and two large fans. You choose your own seats. -The show itself is competition style with minimal storytelling. We have no idea why the two sides hate each other. But, essentially, an MC gives you some cheesy dialogue, explains what's going to happen, and then the competitors do the exact same activity, at the same time, to see who can finish first. Competitions include chopping logs with axes, running across logs on water, climbing a tall "tree", using chainsaws to slice off slices of wood from a log, and various other balancing activities. The main MC has a microphone. The other characters don't, and it can be impossible to hear their dialogue. -IF YOU HAVE SENSITIVE EARS, WEAR HEARING PROTECTION. There is a lot of chainsaw use during this show, and even some boosted chainsaws. I wish I would have had hearing protection. -No videos are allowed during the show. Photos are fine. -Lumberjack Feud is attached to a cute little shopping district, so you can grab a snack or do a bit of shopping before or after. -The show is called "Family friendly". The Lumberjacks keep their shirts on. The women wear shorts with hose/fishnets and covered tops. The constant "booing" and bad sportsmanship towards the opposing team isn't necessarily great modeling behavior. -Check your local grocery stores. Brochures had $3 coupons, and we found some grocery store partnerships had $10 ones. PROS: -The "All-You-Can-Eat Buffet" is decent. There's no judgement for going back as many times as you want, and staff was constantly keeping everything refilled. I didn't encounter any empty food containers or eating accessories (forks, etc). I would honestly have preferred to eat dinner elsewhere, and simply pay less for the show tickets without a dinner, but it was an all-you-can-eat style without limits. -The entire "All-You-Can-Eat Buffet" menu is posted online on their website. They don't serve more than that, and they don't claim to. -The actors are really fun. They clearly give it their all during all of the competitions. The dialogue and interaction is clearly a bit cheesy, but the competitors clearly are trying to win during all of their head-to-head bouts. -The show staff is really interactive. I'd guess they get commissions on the trinkets and books they sell during Intermission and at the end. They're really friendly, though, and I hope they're well-compensated for everything they do. (The lack of eye protection with all of the flying wood shards scares me!) CONS: -Some of the jokes are kinda sexist, and it doesn't help that the "Lumberjills" don't participate in many of the "hard" activities (but wear fishnets/hose and shorts). They often are walking around and clapping, Vanna White style, while the "Lumberjacks" do "manly strong things". This really rubbed me the wrong way. Put the Lumberjacks in shorts, or put the women in jeans, and go ahead and throw in some jokes that "Those Lumberjack men aren't just good for chopping things!" -All of the timing is a bit...odd. Showing up for dinner at 3:45 felt really weird. Maybe they run a second showing at 8PM during peak seasons? When I went, there was only the single 5PM showing each day. -It was HOT. The viewing stands are physically covered (providing shade), and there are two Big Ass Fans (brand name) on top of the covering, but it did not make much of a difference at 90-degrees. It'd probably be comfortable in the low 80s. Make sure to seat yourself earlier so you can get peak fan spots if you know you're going to run warm. -Some of the activities are placed on the VERY edges of the stage. If you're seated high up on the edges of the covered grandstands, you won't be able to see your own team's activities during that race. -The food felt like high school cafeteria food. That being said, buying the All-You-Can-Eat Buffet, by itself, was only $14.99, so like, it really wasn't designed to be an expensive meal. -If you're hoping to enjoy drinks or snacks during the performance, it's a decent walk back to the cafe to purchase beer/drinks/movie snacks. There are no in-seat sales.

We watched them build it for a while, even witnessed an Eagle a few years back in this same area, and were so glad once it was finally finished and open. They have nice bathrooms, a fishing access area, and a fence around this play area-which I really appreciate! Highly recommend stopping by if you have a kid and need to let them run and play a bit or if you're looking for something free to do. Also, be sure to walk down and look at the trout in the area near the restrooms.
