I just happen to pass the sign for the park, so I decided to head out for an adventure. It had just rained before I visited this park, so the trails were slightly muddy. I would love to go back once all the leaves and bushes are full of their green leaves and when the trail is not slippery wet and muddy. However, I happened to see some people trail running, as I was exploring. This would be a great place to do that! According to the map next to one of the trails I was exploring, it looks like there is about a 2 mile loop that crosses over the creek in two spots. You can walk this, hike it, or even decide to run the path. There are multiple entrances down to the trail. I ended up taking a muddy downhill to the creek, but as I begin walking, I realized that there were other places that led to the creek that had a set of stairs. If you are exploring and don't see a great way to get down to the creek, look around for an easier access. There are plenty! This park also has a beautiful amphitheater. It would be the perfect place to have a summer show or sit to enjoy a concert in the park. I did see a family with small children riding their bikes. They were a bit disappointed to discover that the trail was not suited for bikes. If you are looking to bike, I would not pick this specific park. However, if you are looking for a nice walk or a not too difficult hike, this park is for you!

A variety of trails lead down into a nice wooded area along a creek to explore. We were able to see a number of small fossils down there. There are multiple access points (some with stairs, some without, as well, depending on your preference), so referring to the map or keeping an eye on the trail markers can be helpful for wayfinding. There is also a mountain biking trail. The other side offers closer proximity to the sports area, which includes pickleball, tennis, and basketball courts. Fun place to visit!

Because there are so many other large parks around, I love that it tends to be pretty quiet here. There are basketball courts, a baseball field, and some playground equipment. The path isn't the smoothest, but overall I really liked the tranquility of it. Pioneer park is off of Madison avenue, a quick drive from the central covington area. While it's a pretty simple park, I would definitely come back here for a walk or picnic. If you're a dog-owner, I saw lots of people walking dogs here... it seemed like a great place for that as well! Pioneer Park is definitely pretty well kept, I'd come back!

When I'm into Pokemon go, I drive around in circles spinning poke-stops and doing gym battles. That is when I would go most often. There are nice trails to walk. For the kiddos, there are multiple playgrounds, a basketball card, baseball fields, and shelters you can rent for parties. The best part of this park though is the creek. We have fun in the creek when it's warm. My kids love catching crawdads when it's warm out. I loved it as a kid too. I still have fun, especially watching them and how happy they are. Pictures will always be great memories. The only bad thing about this park, is that they took out the dog park! The dog park was so nice. There was a section for small dogs, and a section for large dogs. My dog had fun and so did I. I loved getting to play with everyone else's dogs. It was also great that it was so close to the Kenton county animal shelter. I hope they bring it back someday.

The road in here is about a mile long, and it's VERY narrow - so narrow that I suspect it would be dangerous if you run into someone driving in the opposite direction... True to its name, this place has some fairly dense woods, and it's also got a fair number of hills. You'll find trailmaps for the taking inside the park, and you'd be wise to bring bug spray ;-)

One trail had pages from a children's book on signs as you went along the path, which was cute. Like others have said, it's not always very intuitive which trail you're on. But since they all lead back to the main path, you never feel like you're lost. Also want to reiterate driving in/out slowly due to the narrow road leading in.

The parking lot recently paved and smooth, with clear lines and plenty of space for many cars. The walking track around the park is also paved and in well shape. It is about half a mile all the way around and connects every amenity in the park. This includes basketball hoops, a playground, covered picnic areas, a cute gazebo, bathrooms, and some benches. There's lots of well-maintained grass between these things and in the evenings many clubs use the space for soccer practice. Like I said, I come here often for the access to the bike trail but would also recommend the park to anyone looking for a nice area to get outside. While I cannot speak for the quality of the restrooms, I still would bring friends or family here for a picnic.

The park is clean and very quiet, and it includes two picnic pavilions and several benches. There is a short paved walking trail, basketball courts, and plenty of open field. The only other amenity that I really wish the park had is a decent playground. The current is just a small set of swings with a very old, rusty seesaw. Park maintenance also appears to not upkeep the playground area much, as the mulch has been overtaken by grass. A new playground would make this a 5-star place to stop with the kids!

I used to come here when I was a kid, as there is an amazing sledding hill towards the back of the park. They sometimes also have food rallies here during the summer. In the past, I've walked a little bit on the trails and enjoyed some quiet time on a park bench, but during my time outside recently, I've been able to explore this park a bit more. I had no idea how amazing this park is, and it is located right in the heart of Loveland! Technically, it is part of Symmes Township, but it is only moments away from downtown Loveland and Bike Trail. There is a nice trail that runs around the perimeter of the park. Some trails are paved, which makes it nice if you are taking someone in a wheelchair or a stroller. There are lots of hills, it is definitely not a level path like the bike path that continues staight for miles. It's great for a walker or runner, as it gives you the variation of terrain with uphills and downhills. If you can, look at a map before you begin your trail walk or run, as the main trail that goes around the perimeter of the park weaves in an out. Some of the trails go up by the picnic shelters and then back into the woods. I have lived in Loveland for years, and for some reason, I had no idea that one part of the trail connected to another part of the trail. Looking at the map really helped me. There is a map in the parking lot once you enter the park. There is also a dog park in the middle of the woods, off of one of the trails in the park. Again, I had no idea! You almost stumble upon the park, as you are just walking on a trail in the woods. There is an open clearing with a few trees within the dog park, but for the most part, it is an open space that is fenced in for dogs to run and play. I love my time walking here! It's a great opportunity to enjoy the fresh air and being in the woods without actually being in the woods!
