On really hot days the playground does get really hot though. The lake is a really nice and has a path around it. It's not huge, but still a nice place for some leisure activity. My husband and I brought our 1 year old here for a birthday picnic and found a quiet grassy spot to enjoy our special time. We also let him play on the new(ish) playground. It's SO cool. Very nature themed and unique. On our last visit, my (now 16 month old) son had a blast just running through the grassy areas near the playground picking up sticks. We got some sweet family photos. I can't wait to bring him back to play in the water features sometime.

The trail around the pond area is paved and easy to walk, and as you approach the far end, signage indicates access to an unimproved trail. Very OFF season, so there wasn't too much going on here, but I found my way to the lodge/playground area and took a nice, long-ish walk around the lake (approx. 1.7 miles!!) Looks like there's boats to rent and a nice patio to enjoy the view in warmer months, but I'm sure crowds are a BIT larger, as I pretty much had the place to myself in the hazy, drizzzly days of late winter. Seems to be a new-ish location, with main focus on sports fields. I'm just a tiny bit SPOILED by all of Ohioooooo's more lush, natural, "remote" state and metro parks, but this is not a bad choice, if you're in the area. My kiddo LOVED the splash pad which is activated by your hand . It's not fully fenced in but does a good job of keeping kids from running to the road. Plenty of free parking and shade trees to block from the sun.
