Love! They fixed my wife's glasses for free and were very sweet! 10/10 would always recommend

Always fun and interesting frames and great service. I appreciate the Lorelei's expertise and friendly atmosphere.

The folks who work here were really amazing! I've been to over 20 eye glass shops in the Seattle area looking for just the right frames and the opticians here were by far the nicest most helpful yet. They took a few moments to check in about what I was looking for, offered a few suggestions that were spot on and then encouraged me to look around the shop some more. They were available to answer questions and help out without being pushy at all. And they provided me with helpful feedback and info about my frame choices. And the frame selection was really great. A nice variety of unique and fun as well as classic options. They have some really cool and unique wood frame options that you can customize in the size and color of your choice. They also offered to submit the forms for my insurance even though they were an out of network for my insurance. (Usually I have to submit for reimbursement with out of network providers). I'll definitely be going back to these guys because the customer service and frame selection was so outstanding. read more

Ottica has beautiful, curated frames in its tiny FIrst Avenue location. For me, Its one of the best place in Seattle to find unique, original eye and sunglasses. (it may also take your breath away as you pull out your credit card and max out, but that's par for the coarse shopping for high end glasses in Seattle where most places with great style unfortunately are not VSP shops, so you'll pay for lenses and frames out of pocket, and get reimbursed manana.) At Ottica, you'll find a small but good good selection of select, European frames that you won't find elsewhere in town. Here you get a customized experience and the folks here will patiently work to identify a great frame for your face. The store is petite, almost like a tiny jewel box, but the selection is on point for those who want a truly one of a kind funky new frame. You can also count on rabid compliments for your newest acquisition, since Ottica frames are unequivocally fun, unique and original. read more

I literally spent 2 weeks looking at various shops for my first pair of eye glasses. On a whim I walked into Ottica and received a very warm welcome by Ashleigh. She listened to what I was looking for in eye ware and explained to me the science of how they select a perfect pair for costumers. The first pair I tried on were great but not my style. Again she listened to I was shooting and didn't push any of her own style one me or attempt to up sell me. She absolutely nailed the second time. I was astounded that it was that easy. I was expecting to try on pair, after pair, after pair to only be left with 2 or 3 subpar options as I did with other shops. This place is rad. Don't waste your time going to other places; yes seriously... I will be back next year for my second pair! read more

I've had to wear corrective lenses for 20 years now but started wearing contacts 8 or 9 years ago. I had always gotten my glasses from optometrist offices and, hence, always grew to dislike the glasses. Glasses are uncomfortable, in general, but I typically had pretty generic glasses that made my eyes look bigger than they were, so I would almost never wear them. Then I went to Ottica and had a great experience! I went there after noticing the reviews on Yelp and being urged by my sister-in-law to pick out quality frames that I'd actually like the way I look in. With my glasses being far out of prescription, I decided to take the plunge and the staff at Ottica was great! There was only one other customer in the store, but within about 30 seconds of me walking in the door with my girlfriend they attended to us and the first pair of frames I was brought ended up being the ones we bought. We looked at other frames, but it turned out that the staff member got it right the first time. The owner was really nice and helped us, as well. The frames were definitely expensive (I paid out-of-pocket, they're not on my insurance provider), but I loved that they were totally no-pressure on buying it even saying that it was fine if I wanted to sleep on it before deciding. I liked them enough that I bought them and I've been satisfied with them for the several months I've had them for now. I'm impressed with how I look in them in any outfit. I still don't love wearing glasses, but I actually voluntarily wear these frames in the evenings to keep my eyes from drying out and because they just look nice. They've been really great about ad-hoc adjustments for comfort and after a handful of those I'm at a place where they're pretty comfortable. They're acetate though and so I believe that they'll still need adjustments over time, but those are free at Ottica. Another great thing is that the frames are all handmade in Europe (at least they were when I went in). They're not factory produced "made in china" stuff like Calvin Klein or other name brands produce. The owner hand picks a lot of what they carry in stock. The selection isn't really huge, but it's not tiny either - however, it's mostly stylish frames. Still, it's not anything you'd find at your standard optometrist's shop. read more

Ottica Seattle is the place to go to get fashionable high quality frames in Seattle. Their high end selection combined with excellent customer service, has made me a customer for life. For years I just bought glasses from my optometrist, but I was ready for a change when I needed some sun glasses. I went to Ottica on a friend's recommendation, and walked away with a pair of excellent sun glasses that I could not be happier with. Arlene and her staff provided fantastic customer service in my glasses selection, listening to what I was looking for and educating me on my various options. I purchased a pair of JF Rey sun glasses that had great style and are good for my active life style. More importantly, though, the cut on the lenses was perfect. I have an astigmatism combined nearsightedness that needs a fair amount of correction, and have had problems in the past getting good lenses in my frames. Ottica was able to accommodate and my vision is great with the sun glasses. After a great experience with sun glasses, I came back 6 months later to upgrade my everyday glasses. Once again, Arlene and her staff took their time with me showing my several frames and working with me to find something suited my day-to-day needs. They helped me find a pair of Reiz frames that upgraded my style, and once again the lenses were cut to perfection. My experiences with Ottica have been nothing short of fantastic. Arlene and her staff are passionate about eye wear and providing the best customer service possible. They want to make sure you leave the store happy and looking good. If you are in the market to for new glasses, I strongly recommend paying Ottica a visit. read more

Love Ottica. Yes, the frames are expensive. Really really expensive. But the way I look at it, I am investing in something I wear EVERY day. My glasses are one of the first things people notice about me because they're covering my face. I get compliments on my frames all the time. They're unique and cute. The people that work at Ottica are seriously good at helping you pick out the best shape/color for your face... so they look good on me. You get what you pay for here. Meaning my frames are really well made and titanium. They're going to last as long as I feel like wearing them. read more

This is a great boutique store that focuses on finding you the right pair of frames. Their selection is unique and their customer service is 5 star. I walked by and just wanted to try some on for fun but ended up finding a pair that I love and actually wear!!! The frames were light and they cut the lens right there in their business for you. I loved it so much I made my husband come in the next day and he found a pair of frames and sunglasses for himself. They took the time to let you try on funky and fun frames as well as cool and edgy ones. They really push the envelope on style and somehow it works because they understand what their customers want. read more

Ottica is where I got my latest pair of glasses. The staff is really helpful with everything from selecting frame and lens. They find up and coming designers from all around the world so you'll always have a fresh and unique look that works for you. They can cut glasses on site so turn around time is good. Unlike other places I didn't get a headache the first time I put on new glasses so they must be doing something right. read more

Ottica Seattle - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Seattle, Washington

$1000 was a rough pricetag for frames+lenses at Ottica. They helped me find a few frames that I liked, but I wanted to shop around (this was my first pair of glasses ever). She asked me if I wanted to measure my pupillary distance so I could call in if I wanted to buy and I said sure. She did it (took 3 minutes), said the number out loud, and wrote it down on some sort of customer info card. Solid so far! While $1000 is a scary number, if I loved the frames there above all others, I would've spent it. I didn't bother to write the pupillary distance down or memorize it... Didn't seem like a big deal at the time. Ultimately, I found frames I liked better from Warby Parker (they'll mail you frames to try on at home). They also cost $700 less than my favorites at Ottica. I called Ottica to say thanks but that I'd found frames I liked better. I asked if she'd mind telling me my pupillary distance and she said no. She mentioned that Warby Parker had a store in Fremont and that I could go there to get it measured. I said "So there's a number on a card a few feet from you that you're unwilling to read to me to save me an hour-long errand?" She said something about "well, different people come up with different numbers"-- didn't make sense to me. Summary: the experience was pretty good, the frames they had were great (but not what I ultimately liked best), but the last interaction was just awkward an ungracious. If you can help another human being with 30 seconds of effort, do it-- even if you didn't earn their business this time. read more

I cannot gush enough about Ottica. I have gotten eyeglasses and prescription sunglasses there, and gotten fabulous service. Yes, granted, they are expensive. But these glasses are very high quality, gorgeous designs, and any time I walk by the store, the staff will clean and adjust them for me. The best part about the experience, for me (as a person who doesn't like to shop, and isn't very confident about style), has been having Lorelei guide me to styles that work best for my face shape. She presents me with a few options, and they're all wonderful, and then I pick one. It is SO much easier than spending hours going around trying to find something on my own. And - incidentally - I get compliments on my glasses regularly, so other people clearly agree. read more

I had to figure out how to update my last review! I had the most amazing customer service at OTTICA, I had some trouble with the coating on my lenses and they took such good care of me, I wanted to give them a shout out. I've been buying eyewear from Lorelie for the past two decades, and let me assure you the experience, the quality, and the care you will receive at OTTICA you will not find at any other eyewear shop! They stand behind their products and help you care for your eyewear, and my experience today proved that the investment was worth every penny! read more

Gorgeous, unique, artisan frames and incredibly attentive service. I can't say enough good things about both the Seattle and Bellevue stores. My husband and I managed to spend a small fortune in under an hour, but it was definitely worth it. I get more compliments on my frames every day and I can actually wear them every day, because the doctor really took the time to figure out what was wrong with my old prescription. My husband's frames are gorgeous too, I want to steal them for myself! read more

The most beautiful eyeframes live at this lovely store. I have purchased many pairs, and I know I will enjoy them for many years too come. We visited Seattle before our Cruse last month. I had an accident with my Glasses on Sunday morning. The frames got bent and tweaked. I Yelped around for an Optometrist that was open on a Sunday. If I did not get these fixed I would have been stuck on a Ship for a week without glasses. I went in and they fixed them straight up for me. Didn't even charge me. Now that is customer service!!! Thank you!!! read more

I. Love. Ottica. Out of the four places I went today to try on glasses (for the first time), Ottica was the absolute best; the space is beautiful, and the first pair Lorelai - I'm terrible with names, please write me and tell me if I got it wrong - picked out for me to try was the coolest, most fun, happiest pair of glasses that made me actually thrilled to need glasses. I also never would have picked them on my own! I love that. I want at least that pair, and probably one more of the three best she picked for me to try. I felt welcome to try one all the silly ones I wanted, and there were definitely a few I loved but didn't work for my face. Go buy them and give them good homes, so that I'll feel better! I probably tried on fifty or more glasses today, and Ottica is the only place that didn't have a bad or uncomfortable choice in the shop. I hope they're around for a very long time, because I want to keep going back. -One note, they don't take my insurance, (VSP) but were knew more about the company than I did, and were able to tell me what my options were (reimbursement, etc.) with my ins. company if I did buy lenses/frames through them. read more

I've been purchasing eyeglass frames from Ottica for years, and this review is long overdue. The selection that Ottica carries is highly curated with a variety of unique frames that you won't find anywhere else. The owner and salespeople will go out of their way to give you five star service every time you walk in the door. If you should have a problem with a frame (a missing screw, a bent frame due to the fact you sat on them, etc.) Ottica will go above and beyond in trying to fix, and or, salvage your frame. I've worn glasses almost all my life and Ottica is the only store that I shop at for eyeglasses. I found this store quite by accident, and I've been coming here ever since. Of note, there are other high end eyeglass purveyors in Seattle, and the service I received at one store that has locations at the Market and in Bellevue was terrible as I was treated as if they were doing me a favor when I was purchasing $1000 frames. Whereas, at Ottica whether you purchase a frame or not you'll be treated as if you are their favorite customer, ever. In summation, Ottica has beautiful unique frames, and provides the best customer service of any business (eyeglass or otherwise) that I've ever been to. Their frames are not cheap, but are well worth the price, will last for years, and you'll always look stylish in one of their products. I highly recommend this store for both selection and customer service. read more

This pandemic has not stopped my efforts to get my update on my eyeglasses. By appointment, which is as it turns out a better proposition, I went in and got excellent help with the choice of my eyeglasses, excellent service and the frame and lens quality. If you want good quality products you should check out this place and helped in a friendly atmosphere (no pressure at all) you should try out this place. It is a gem in Seattle shopping experience. read more

Not a bad store but it was tough to get inside. There's a buzzer because at least in this instance, no one was at the door. We waited a minute and just as we were about to buzz again, a woman appeared and opened the door. She was very kind and the store was gorgeous, but the selection was limited. Many other stores had 2 or 3x the inventory. Definitely worth checking out though. We found a lot of unique and really gorgeous frames here. Looking in from the street level there's a spotless mirror along the wall that gives the impression that this space is much bigger than it is. Tricky, but smart! read more

Yes, expensive. The glasses here cost like jewelry. But since I don't wear expensive jewelry, and my glasses define my 'look' I think the price is worth it. I agree with many here who say that the customer service is top notch. It indeed is. I've had great assistance in selecting frames that are right for me. Some of those that I've purchased were not ones that I would have selected for myself. I've always gotten complements on my eyewear since shopping at Ottica. I've gotten my glasses here for several years and while I take causal looks at other shops from time to time, none of them comes close to having the selection that Ottica seems to have. read more

I recently accompanied my daughter to the Ottica store in Bellevue. The shopping selection and experience was great, with friendly and helpful staff. I'm not impressed, though, with what came after the order was placed. After receiving a call that they were ready, my daughter drove to the Bellevue store to pick up her glasses, only to be told that the lab in the Seattle store had forgotten to send them over. So she drove to that location and picked them up. When she got home and looked more closely, she discovered one lens was not inserted into the frame correctly. And the glasses case she was given does not fit her glasses! Little things? Yes. But for the price I paid, the sloppy after-sale experience was annoying. read more

If Yelp is about passing on great referrals, then I am compelled to share this story.....I was enjoying a casual day downtown when a sharp-dressed hipster stopped me to compliment me on my eyewear....and in the conversation rave about her experience at Ottica. Apparently, Ottica offers a can't miss experience if you are in the market for fashionable eyewear that will have you receiving compliments from those you know...and on a good day...those you would like to get to know! The fact Ottica is appropirately located "on the edge" of both ultra hip Belltown and traditionally cool "Pike Place" you bound to be in the neighborhood...give yourself a treat and see what the "buzz" is all about. read more

I've been following Lorelei through her Seattle career for over 15 years as she's made her way from Wallingford to Belltown (via Fremont). Now that she is an owner & buyer of her shop, we can experience the complete package that she has been perfecting all these years. In a word, it's inspirational. I've never felt such passion about a retail experience. She simply understands the challenges of providing a customer with a personalized artistic accessory that has a large impact on how others view us. I've never seen or experienced anything like it. Her talents provide me with perpetual compliments on "my" choice of frames and lenses. Clearly with Lorelei canvasing the designers of Tokyo, Milan, and Paris, there's a bit more to to it than that. I have to say the compliments are merited, but more for my choice of eyewear vendors: Ottica. Thank you Lorelei for putting together such an amazing business and team. Cheers to ya. read more

Old school customer service!! My husband's cheap(er) sunglasses were missing a screw and we had tried everywhere to find a replacement, including the original manufacturers. Even thought Ottica didn't carry this brand, they listened to my story and fixed the glasses on the spot - for free! But not without a short lecture on the dangers of cheap shades. :) Much appreciated, as you didn't have to help us - but we'll remember you when we're in the market for a new, QUALITY pair of sunglasses. read more

I'm a med student from Chicago visiting Seattle for a short internship. Walked by this store and was intrigued by the look of the space so I went in not expecting anything. I've been wearing glasses for 20 years and I depend on good lenses and love a great look. The people were great and I will not soon forget this place. Thanks Ottica read more

The pros: Some of the greatest looking eyewear I have found anywhere. I have a hard time finding glasses that look good as my facial features are smallish, and most glasses just end up looking like bug eyes on me. I was fortunate enough to fine a great pair of sunglasses there that I really liked. I bought them for over $400 which to me is a gigantic splurge but worth it to finally have a pair of glasses I felt I looked good in. The cons: When I went outside with my new sporty shades, I quickly realized that these sunglasses were for appearances only. They did next to nothing to block the sun. I sadly went back the next day in hopes of finding more functional pair or perhaps a lens replacement. The only other pair that suited my face was $750 (really?! $750 for sunglasses? I would never have imagined!!). That was out. The store policy is absolutely no returns. I did have my receipt in hand dated less than 24 hours prior, and the glasses were good as new after less than an hour of wearing, but no matter. I looked and looked for another suitable pair, but I came up empty handed. To their credit, the owners do allow store credit, but since I do not live anywhere near Seattle, this was not an option for me. The staff finally gave me the option of switching my lenses out for some polarized ones which didn't look as cool as as the fade lens but nevertheless seemed a great idea. I would do that! Wait, that will be another $150. To me the $400 was a splurge, this was bordering on ridiculous. I left the shop with a fantastic looking pair of sunglasses that doesn't do shit to block the sun. One other thing. I do think the folks here in general have good taste. There are a lot of comments about how honest they are. I was sad to say that one of the most off putting things to me was that after I was clearly not finding the right thing to replace my initial love, the gal starting telling me how good a few other pairs looked on me. I wasn't buying it. They were mediocre at best. Final advice is make sure you try them outside before you put down the cash. Don't be fooled into thinking the hundreds of dollars you are spending for a little spindly metal and lenses is assuring quality! read more

Ottica Seattle is a wonderful eyeglass store. I still get compliments on the first pair of frames I bought there 8 years ago and have purchased many since.
