If I could give this restaurant no stars I would. They flag you down on the sidewalk to eat then take forever to acknowledge your table. The customer service is below standards. We ordered the carbonara pasta and a sausage pizza; the pizza taste okay there are other restaurants in the area with better pizza and customer service. Before ordering we had an in depth conversation with Melissa the waitress about our hesitation with ordering the pasta because we are American and realize it would taste different. Melissa told us it was a different taste but we should try it. So we taste the pasta and did not like it. There was another waiter, a gentleman working the section at this point and we asked for Melissa. This took several minutes. We eventually told the male waiter that we would like to replace the dish with another one of equal price. At this point is where the customer service, which was already sub par, really became argumentative from the staff. Melissa, the male, and female at the register began telling us it's not their fault we don't like it and we cannot trade dishes and must pay for that one though we didn't eat it. The male then began to tell us " Just go..... go pay and leave." Then the female at the register proceeds to say, "the carbonara is perfect I just sold 200 today it tastes fine; because you don't like the taste of the pasta is not our problem it is authentic. No one tried to resolve the issue by letting us replace the dish or explain what was wrong. The waitress Melissa knew we were tourists from America and the male and both stated, "You Americans overcook your pasta to where it's flat ours is not cooked all the way, Al Dente." We thoroughly understood the difference and the way we were treated is as if we didn't want to pay at all. While this was going on 3 customers left shaking their heads and once outside we were THEN told by other tourists/customers this place is not friendly towards American tourists. It's astonishing to me that the male waiter told us he would not give his name because he "knows" how people write your name on bad reviews. For him to say that he must have experienced this before and clearly his actions have not changed. Also it's shocking that Melissa completely ignored us when others became involved though we had just had a long talk with her about how she didn't like pasta in America but did enjoy the burgers, and we all laughed about what we were use to. I've never eaten at a restaurant anywhere that didn't try to satisfy the customer this is appalling especially the way they ALL spoke loudly for us to leave and pay and wave their hands toward the door. When outside we found out this is the reason the male customer left because of the tone in which they spoke to us. Not once did we ever raise our voices at them. read more
