My fiancé and I woke up rather early to roam around Rome - see all the main tourist sites, drink at different coffee bars, visit beautiful churches, and shop all the newest styles of the season. Anyway, we only had a cappuccino and cornetto for breakfast, so by 1500, we were starving and couldn't wait for dinner.
A family member heard our cries of woe and immediately dialed a number, said a few things in Italian, and just started driving. Where were we going? What were we going to see? Thoughts filled my head as I looked out the window to soak up more of this beautiful city.
He had called his buddy, who happens to own Officine Dad with his son. When we arrived, the doors were closed and the "closed" signs still up. However, we were invited in with open arms and fed the most delicious burgers (yes, burgers in Rome) we've ever had.
I will definitely return to Officine Dad the next time I'm in Rome, especially when I'm missing a nice, juicy burger! read more
