Our visit here exceeded my expectations! I had a group of ladies in town from 6 different states and we chose this as our activity for Sunday morning ($30/person). Every one of us enjoyed our experience and most of them want to come back another time! Our ticket time was 10:30 am on Sunday and I do think that resulted in a larger amount of kids running around. Not unruly or anything, but our group wasn't able to experience all of the interactive items. They have a snack bar with some themed alcoholic drinks that we didn't try. You can get some really cool photos here with different light and mirror rooms. I'd guess there's over 30 different rooms/areas and have been told they change them when something is worn out. Lots of color, things to touch, and cool experiences. Nothing was scary however their were some clowns in one room and possible other things some people might be scared of. read more

So sick! You have to check it out! But definitely take your time and soak it in and touch/try everything to get the best experience.

You Have To Come Here! This is one of the best and strangest 'art museums' ever, you can't even call this place an art museum. It is so unique and I can't even describe it in words! Like I said You Have To Come Here, overall 10/10 (5.0 stars). (my review from Google Maps) read more

I have very mixed feelings about Otherworld. THE GOOD: *The employees walking around to help give hints, in terms of the hidden puzzles, were VERY kind. *The vast majority of the decorations were so unique and amazing. *$30 for unlimited time to wander? That's neat. THE BAD: *No TP in two of the restrooms. Considering that there were so many people there, in line, TP should be checked regularly. The line was long due to how limited our restroom options were. *Lots of hand sanitizer stations... that were empty. THE UGLY: *considering how much there is, how many people there are, and how big the place is, I was surprised with how clean it (at least appeared) to be. *The different environments were neat; however, it made everything very confusing. *We felt there should have been a mark to help you know which rooms were puzzles and which rooms were just interactive leisure rooms... we messed around with what we THOUGHT was a puzzle for like 25 minutes before we figured out it wasn't one. *While I said it was great to have the unlimited time for the price, the lack of crowd control was very stimulating. It's hard to walk around and complete puzzles when people get in the way. *the sensors on a lot of things didn't work... I'm giving it a 2; wish I could give it a 2.5. Id go again, but it's not something I'd be ecstatic to recommend. P.S. If you go and want to solve the puzzles, bring a notebook! P.P.S. it'd be neat if there were adult only nights or times. read more

This experience actually reminds me of Meow Wolf. We went to the one in Denver. They both have a lot of hidden rooms and areas that you can explore. Otherworld is cheaper and way less crowded. Admission is around $30 which is not bad. A little pricey for some. I enjoyed walking through the different areas of art because they're all different. We spent about an hour and half. Employees were very nice and friendly. Only thing I didn't like is that this place is isolated from everything else. It would be nice to have some restaurants or other stores next door that you can walk to. read more

This place is awesome! The location is pretty odd, since its in an abandoned shopping center (think an abandoned Target). However, this adds to the experience in my opinion. You come up to a building that basically has nothing other than the name on it. The windows are blacked out and you don't get a feel of what its about until you step inside. This is an adventure you won't forget! Lots of crazy rooms with odd and out of this world designs. Infinite mirror rooms, crawl into an Space Invaders arcade, play a game with a very odd cow. So much to do. Unfortunately, since this is more of an art installation, it suffers from the same inherent problem that happens with museums. You go once, you pretty much see everything. I hear there are events and DJs, etc, which could be neat. But, other than taking new friends here to show them the place, its likely you don't need to go back more then a few times. Also, very cool merch to buy, some gimmicky stuff that you can get on amazon like glow lights, and things. But, the branded items and plushies are awesome! read more

The exhibits are fun and you can piece the story together eventually. However the 2 puzzles that you can solve (obelisk and symbol table) add absolutely nothing to the space and were a total waste of time - my advice is don't try to solve these and just enjoy the space because we missed out on some fun while trying to collect symbols. One staff member at gift shop was helpful but most who were walking through had no idea how to solve things or work through puzzles so that was also very frustrating. read more

This was a really cool art installation. Seemed geared towards kids but still not bad for adults. It's interesting. Lots of tactile things, other stuff that engage your senses. There really was the theme of being in a monster's world. But not scary at all. Mostly fun and entertaining. Lots of rooms! They aren't large but it took 30 minutes to walk through it. It wasn't busy for a Saturday evening and the hype had died down for this place since it had been open a while. We were able to do most activities in each room. The tickets seemed pricey but it's worth it for all the artists that used their talents to our everything together. They're very low key. We were late for the time slot we bought tickets for but staff didn't really care LOL It's located in a weird area that's basically empty except for Otherworld. Parking was easy. Sooo many parking spots in the lot. read more

Mind blown. We did this art exhibit as a family outing . The tickets were about25 each and we all thoroughly loved it. The kids are teens. It was interactive. There were 40 rooms to explore and some interacted with others ( telephone in one room spoke into another room). It was colorful and all kind of art mediums were represented. We wandered around for about an hour and played with many of the art installations. There was one room that we appeared to be in black white due to the lighting. Well worth it. It gave me lots of ideas for my creative side. read more

Went with my sister and nieces and nephew. Everyone is given a wristband and you can explore the place at your own pace. Loved the various rooms that had mirrors. There were so many themed rooms to go into and explore. As a non adolescent I recommend knee pads as not all the crawl spaces have cushions on the floor. The black and white room was a favorite. Loved the interactiveness of it all. Would love to go back read more

This is like being in a schizoid low budget film set. Noisy, bizarre and relatively without merit. Stuck in an almost abandoned commercial real estate failure which contributes to the dystopian vibe. 1. Not worth the price 2. No real learning for children 3. Probably toxic environment and unsanitary. My recommendation is spend your hard earned dollars on something besides this. It's just bad. read more

Otherworld - It must be the night fever! - Performing Arts Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

Otherworld is this fun interactive art exhibit, with plenty of lights and cool sculptures. They have little tunnels that go into different rooms, swings, interactive walls, etc. The price is pretty decent, it isn't inexpensive but won't burn a hole through your pockets either. The workers there are fine, they did a good job explaining things and they keep the place clean. It was a great experience for the kids but not something I'd make an effort to go back to. The exhibits do make for amazing pictures but idk I guess I was expecting more. From the pictures online it seemed much larger and like there were tons of lights, in reality it's a medium sized place with decent exhibits. read more

This place was an interesting find. My son and I spend 45 minutes wandering around the halls enjoying the visual impact that is Otherworld. I tried not to think of the million hands that had touched everything or cringe when my son sat on a feathery chair. At least there were hand sanitizer dispensers strewn throughout the place, but half of them didn't work or were empty. I very much enjoyed the tripiness of Otherworld. I'm not sure if it was worth the $30 entry fee per person, but it was still cool nonetheless and I'm glad I went. read more

I've been to Otherworld a few times and they say that the exhibits change however only about 20% of the exhibits switch up, and none of them have anything to do with the puzzles. You should really switch up the games/puzzles to solve or at the very least, if you're going to use the same symbols and riddles, then switch up the way you find the symbols. Have them in different places like the new exhibits. My friend and I spent about 45minutes there because we were thinking we were going to see mostly new exhibits and games to solve. Nope, all the same. Which is pretty lame. $30 for 45 min. Not worth it. On to the service. The people minus 1 associate were rude as hell. The girl named Katie or Kate was incredibly passive aggressive. You guys have a sign that says to keep the line short, order tickets online, but the website was malfunctioning, and multiple people complained that it wasn't working, and yet Katie/Kate was annoyed/irritated that people didn't reorder tickets, BUT THE WEBSITE WASNT WORKING. Hello?! And then an associate said "oh yea, it hasn't been working correctly for a few months now" I'm sorry what?! So you're going to get mad at us customers for trying to preorder tickets but not being able to because the website wasn't working. Make that sh** make sense please. Oh one last thing, with the money you get from tickets, can you do something about your damn parking lot? You got potholes from Hell, that will tear the sh** out of someone's car. A giant one right in the middle of a lane. For first time goers, the place is cool and fun. But If you want people to keep coming back, then do better Otherworld, associates/managers included. read more

Otherworld is a extremely unique artistic realism exhibit. One that takes your imagination through a whirlwindl of imaginary living world of fantasy sight, sound & interactive sensory fun. Visited from St. Louis, MO and on our last day we planned a trip to OtherWorld. Even though our visit didn't start out as planned do to a unexpected power outage. After a timely delay we were able to experience all the sights and sounds from the uniquely designed atmosphere. The staff was very understanding and helpful with keeping everyone up-to-date while informing not only myself but others of when they'd possibly open. We appreciated the friendly staff and the amazing experience. We'll definitely be back. read more

One of the coolest places I've ever been!! We stopped here on a roadtrip as a nice break. My group wasn't super enthusiastic and rushed me a bit so I definitely plan to make a trip back. The lights and art are stunning. You feel like you're in a weird dream. Swings were so fun, loved the mirrored rooms. They attempted social distancing but honestly it would've been impossible. My only complaint is that apparently there are puzzles to solve but we weren't given any direction on how to start. Just "go where-ever you want". I'll definitely ask next time. read more

This place was nice to get experience outside of a museum and have more interactive art. Unfortunately, I don't think it was worth $22 per ticket. Some art was creative and others was just plain stupid. The place was FULL of teenagers. I recommend going early if you can. They have timed slots for Covid however you can stay as long as you wanted so I think they were over capacity. Staff and people were wearing masks and plenty of hand sanitizer. Bathrooms were clean and they had plenty of parking out front. Took 45 mins to make it thru whole thing. read more

If there's one thing I enjoy, it's shiny things. Not necessarily coins, but literally anything shiny. I have a running joke in my office if I get off track, it's because I saw something shiny - so when my friend said let's go to Otherworld, there are shiny things, she didn't have to tell me twice. Otherworld at its core is an abstract art installation. I'm sure there are many more intricacies and subjects that I don't understand, kind of like when your English teacher told you to dig in about why Charles Dickens used seventy words to explain that the curtains were purple. Unfortunately, I'm not intellectual enough for that, so I'll tell you I enjoyed the shiny objects and the moving pieces. While the exhibit itself is super fun, interesting, and well worth the price of admission, there are a couple of cons that I deem it as not a five star show. - Firstly, beyond the actual exhibit, they have this simple bar that looks like an afterthought. It's like one of those knockoff Chuck-E-Cheese side bars that sells Little Caesar's pizza and overpriced cans of pop. Granted, they do sell more than that, but it's just kind of a slap in the face considering how cool the actual art is. I think they could definitely use to put some more work into it to better match the rest of the facilities. - Second, location. I understand that being in an abandoned strip mall is low overhead cost and probably more freedom to install whatever they please, but going to Reynoldsburg for this is potentially already a determent for some. I'm not trying to spend time in Reynoldsburg! Overall, I would absolutely recommend it to all ages and advise to spend a minimum of 1 1/2 hours here. It's definitely a cool way to spend some time while in Columbus if you have a vehicle to get there! read more

Quirky is the best way to describe this. Or maybe trippy. Either way it was pretty neat. Definitely a place to go for cool photos. It's also best to walk around at-least twice. The lighting was pretty neat throughout. read more

Visited on a cold weekend in January. The place was quite full, which kind of took away from the experience. We also didn't get much of an orientation from the staff on how to engage with the exhibit, which left us feeling a little confused as to all the hidden aspects of the displays, like finding the symbols to light up a tree or something... I'm still confused about it, to be honest. There were many rooms to visit, so there was a lot to see and interact with. That said, in retrospect, the ticket price was quite steep for what you get. Maybe this appeals to little kids, people who've enjoyed a little substance before attending, or teenagers who are looking for a dark place to get cuddly with a crush... but I don't think I'd visit again. read more

We stopped in at Otherworld over the summer and had a great time! We brought our family that drove in from Fort Wayne, Indiana too. They loved it! We were able to venture through all of the rooms within an hour. There are so many amazing and cool things to see here! It's kind of like a glow in the dark museum...Maybe something similar to a glow in the dark haunted house - but nothing too scary? I don't know if that makes sense, but it's definitely worth stopping by and checking out! I'd definitely like to check it out again, but with our kids next time! I think that it'd be something that they would really enjoy as well. If you have not checked it out, definitely get online and make your reservation! read more

It feels like you're driving into the middle of nowhere to get to Otherworld, and the parking lot of this presumably abandoned/closed shopping mall/strip mall is in vast need of repairs. However, Otherworld itself is clean, modern, and well maintained. I had some time to kill before leaving town and thought this sounded quirky and off the beaten path. It is/was. I assumed you could just buy tickets when you enter but, while you can, you have to do so from your phone? Perhaps this is a COVID related policy (even though COVID is rarely passed from objects like cash/cards, etc. and there wasn't a mask policy while I attended even though I chose to wear one anyway)? So the person working the counter had me go to their website to purchase tickets which took about 5 minutes. Then he gave me an armband. After this hiccup, I was left to wander Otherworld at my leisure. It's trippy. Each room is different, each exhibit unique. Mirrors and lights disorient a bit as does the layout which has you winding back through areas you think you've already seen to find something completely new. I made quick work of the place as a solo traveler and it still took me about an hour to see all that I wanted to. There are indeed some great photo opps to be found within if that is your thing. Also on site is a snack bar, bar, refreshment stand with various options. Service was friendly, place was wholly unique and different. I'm glad I visited as it is a different sort of roadside attraction you don't often see anymore. Tickets are about $25 which is about $5-$10 too steep IMO, but all in all worth it at least once. read more

Really awesome and unique art and play exhibit. Lots of interesting rooms and designs that will leave kids and adults mesmerized and entertained. Very unique place that I can't really compare to any other place I've been. I will say is really expensive gig what it is though. Cost over $100 for my family of 6. Not much a price break for kids from adults and they start charging at the age of 3. Which a 3 year old is kinda young really understand and appreciate this place. So maybe raise age limit somewhere between 5-7 and it would make some sense. We came on a Saturday right before 4pm Bd the line wrapped around the building. We waited for about 90 min to get in and going. So if you go during peak hours or times then expect a decent wait. Very tiny and insanely priced gift shop. Also a cafe I did not check out. All in all was a really cool place and I'm glad we checked it out. They could use a price reduction though. I most likely wouldn't come back because of cost unless it had just been a very long time between visits. The cost probably scares away repeat visitors. With as crowded as they seem to be maybe they will get in a spot financially where they can offer price breaks overall or at least for children. Offering a discounted season pass may be a solid option (treat it like science centers, museums, zoo's etc). read more

This place is AMAZING! Can't say enough good things, there is something for every age. If you like weird combined with mystery lab experiment, combined with exciting things to see. You will love it here. My daughter and I were in town for a graduation and realized this was about ten minutes from our hotel and ten minutes from the graduation so we came in at 10 right as they opened. I would say we stayed for a good hour and fifteen minutes and could have certainly extended it to two hours but I believe we were able to see all the rooms. One thing I would recommend is a map, I know part of the excitement is the shock in going every room, but we had a hard time determining if we had seen every room. Even if just a map with numbers to say room 1, room 2 etc with corresponding numbers on the wall so you can know if you have seen everything there is to see. Otherwise, we had no complaints. read more

It's hard to know exactly what to expect coming to this place, but it definitely exceeded my expectations. It's hard to describe to people. It's a fully immersive art experience. There are probably 30+ rooms all fully decorated and they're all interactive. I got a Stranger Things vibe from it (it's definitely a little sci-fi). We loved interacting with the rooms. There's no set order to go through the rooms in. We actually missed a couple on our first time through and went back through again. It's in an old abandoned strip mall, but don't let the outside appearance turn you away. We spent about an hour to an hour and a half exploring. You can also leave and come back later the same day. When we pulled up to the front of Otherworld, on the east side of Columbus near the former Eastland Mall, we really weren't sure what to expect. The outside is completely unremarkable; a little sketch, actually. But once you walk in it feels like you're transported into another world. Getting checked in was super easy and quick. The best part is that there are no directions. They encourage you to touch everything and explore and play. We had a blast acting like little kids for a couple hours. I loved this place! It was like an interactive Haunted House where no one jumps out at you and you get to control the speed at which you flow through. There also felt like there was a little bit of an escape room vibe to it/Stranger Things/meets Alice and Wonderland. It was really cool to be able to touch all the art and try the different paths and see where you would end up next! Not sure how they clean everything so in certain rooms Germaphobes beware. The fact that we went early on a Saturday was nice because it wasn't too crowded and we had plenty of time to move through the rooms and they don't give you a time limit so if you wanted to hang out there until close you could.
