I was so impressed with Escape It Grandview as the site of my daughter's recent birthday gathering. She really wanted an escape room experience for six friends, but I was a little wary because I have seen some that seemed unimpressive given the cost. That was not the case with Escape It, which was very professional in terms of service (staff spoke with us on the phone ahead of time to determine which room was best for the girls' age group, and were friendly and helpful when we arrived), and quality of the room, its details and decor, its effects (surprise walls moving, etc). My best friends and I were having a girl's weekend in Columbus and decided to do an escape room. I went with a group of 3 & we did the Speakeasy escape room. We had SO much fun. The puzzles/clues were challenging and creative! I'll admit, we used 3 hints throughout the course of the 60 minutes, the hints were helpful, but just the right amount of helpful (without totally giving away the answer). We escaped with 6 minutes to spare. Two of us had never done an escape room before, we found the speakeasy just the right amount of challenging. Shout out to Lexi (I believe that's the correct name). Lexi got us all set up in the room and had an awesome personality that was very welcoming! Lexi enhanced our escape room experience. I will definitely visit this location if I am in the Columbus area again. read more

I love a good escape room, and Escape It Grandview definitely has some great things going on. We did the speakeasy themed room. There were only two of us in the room, and I would definitely recommend having at least a third to help solve all of the clues in the hour (that goes by very quickly). There was definitely at least one (maybe two) clues that left me with the feeling of "What rational person would have thought of this?," so sometimes it's better to just ask for a hint. The decor was great, and the puzzles were decent as well. The staff was very friendly, and you can tell that the owner puts a lot of thought and care into his rooms. My kids are really into escape rooms right now. We've done six so far, two here and four elsewhere. At dinner last night, the kids were ranking their favorites. They both put both of the Escape It rooms in their top two. I have to agree! The rooms are well-designed. Had such a great time here. Visited as a party of 8 for a friends birthday, everyone had a great time and was challenged by the puzzles. We made it out with just under 2 minutes left! The Explorer scenario didn't disappoint! I've done several escape rooms with different companies, and this one is fantastic! Some places are beginning to design their clues and games with tons of technology - iPads, computers, touch screens, etc. While that's not necessarily bad, I love interacting with actual locks and physical puzzles. There seemed to be the perfect amount of content for our group. I liked that the percentage of the room we had completed was displayed on the countdown clock as we progressed. It kept us on task - and it kept the adrenaline pumping! I've always wanted to escape a room without using any clues. Didn't happen this time. We asked for one clue when we got really stuck. I thought it was neat that the clues were communicated via computer screen instead of through a microphone. Another neat little caveat- there was a wait time for clues. We couldn't ask for multiple clues back to back. I actually enjoyed that added challenge. This escape room enthusiast gives Escape It! Grandview two thumbs up! Fun, fun, fun! read more

This was Awesome!!! We were a group of four and we tried the 'explorer' room. It was very interesting and kept us engaged and entertained. An hour went by so fast in continuously finding and solving clues. We almost solved it (84%). Would surely go back to try the other room!! read more

We've been to other "chain" rooms before, and this little place holds its own against those big money rooms... The Speakeasy room was very well put together and thought out. We were the only four people in our room, which was nice, but maybe a little more help would have worked out. Unfortunately, we were unable to get out before the police raid, but found out we were on the very last "piece" of the puzzle to getting out... So fun!! Cool speakeasy themed room filled with brain teasers and clues you'll need to successfully escape. You have 60 minutes and a total of three hints you can request during your time. During my visit, the group was 8 people. Not sure if that's standard, but it seemed to be perfect... enough people to help solve all the clues, but any more would have been overcrowded. There are free lockers in the lobby area. Stay for the group photo after you escape. read more

Super fun and actually really challenging! We had a group of 4 and we tried to solve the Speakeasy room - we were 93% of the way, and SO close - but the cops got us. We all left feeling super satisfied with our experience even though we did not complete the room. The owner is super friendly and nice and made our experience pleasant. I've done 20+ escape rooms and with this location only having two rooms, they were actually my two favorite rooms I've done. There was a lot of work and thought put into both of the rooms. A lot of puzzles I've never seen or tried before so it was great to experience that. Will definitely visit again if they end up having new rooms. read more

This was so much fun! My sisters and their boyfriends and I decided to go to this for my birthday and I am so glad that we did! There were 8 of us total in the room and we all worked together to try to get out. Unfortunately we did not escape but made it to the last clue and our progress was 92%. I think the fact that we didn't make it out shows how creative and good this escape room is. I'm excited to try the Speak Easy next time! I really wasn't sure what to expect and it was a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be! Now I want to bring my parents and friends! We visited with our son and some of his high school friends and had an absolute blast. The speakeasy theme is very creative and so were the clues.
