I was surprised by the cleverness of the clues and just how much fun we had overall discovering the clues. Fun experience! You'll get a workout from jumping and running around…read more You first sign up and pay for the specific timing you'd want. You will get a wristband that will track your time and score. You will need to register your band before entering. Note that before you enter, you can put stuff in your lockers. Upon entering the dark room, you'll see lots of people running around. It'll seem overwhelming but luckily there are staff that wander around to help lost and confused people. You will go to a door and you can look at what the game is. The screen will show you how to play it. I wouldn't overcomplicate it - just understand the goal and then go play! You are timed so play! When you decide the game, you will scan your band to join the party and the rest of your group will need to tap in. Then once there is no one playing, the door will unlock to allow you to enter. Then you can start the game with a push of a button when you are ready. There are lots of games so I won't describe them all. However, the important thing is that you need to LISTEN to the computer announcer. It'll tell you when the game is over and then you need to exit the room within a minute since the other team will enter to start their game. It's a very rushed process but you'll get the hang of it. You can check how much time and how much points you have by tapping these other screens. And you can take group pictures too. Restrooms are inside so you don't need to leave the area.

The creator (David) was our gamemaster and his clues were very helpful. He asked if we wanted hints when we were off track and we could say yes/no. I really like that because some game masters are a little overzealous and give too many hints. Everything in the room worked well. The puzzles were more than just "open this lock, then this lock, then this lock...". I will definitely come back to complete the other 3 rooms.

The service here has always been exceptional. Breakout along with other companies are moving away from the standard key and combo locks and integrating more "magic" as one of the hosts called it. More moving parts and ones that just open automatically when a puzzle is solved which is much more fun so if you haven't been in a while I'd say this is your cue to book a new room. My favorite room at this location was Do Not Disturb which doesn't exist in Ohio anymore but most recently we did Museum Heist. It was engaging with clues that could be solved by kids and adults. We had a party of five and made it out in time with our youngest player being 13. The clues are fun and challenging and the hints are given on a TV screen when you ask for them. I do prefer the ones where you can just speak to the host but these hints are specific to what you ask, you just may have to walk to the other room to see the TV. That is the only slightly negative thing I have to say because we love this company! If you've never been then this is a good place to start because they all seem passionate about escape rooms and making sure people enjoy it. For anyone who has done multiple escape rooms or plans to, you should check out the Morty app if you don't have it already!

The puzzles/clues were challenging and creative! I'll admit, we used 3 hints throughout the course of the 60 minutes, the hints were helpful, but just the right amount of helpful (without totally giving away the answer). We escaped with 6 minutes to spare. Two of us had never done an escape room before, we found the speakeasy just the right amount of challenging. Shout out to Lexi (I believe that's the correct name). Lexi got us all set up in the room and had an awesome personality that was very welcoming! Lexi enhanced our escape room experience. I will definitely visit this location if I am in the Columbus area again.

That was not the case with Escape It, which was very professional in terms of service (staff spoke with us on the phone ahead of time to determine which room was best for the girls' age group, and were friendly and helpful when we arrived), and quality of the room, its details and decor, its effects (surprise walls moving, etc). The experience was great from start to finish, and I would recommend it to any group in the future.

While I was eating, the staff installed a sticker, blocking my vision, on the front driver-side door of my car.
