My husband picked this place for our Saturdate and I was happily surprised! We arrived at our 11am time slot and I was immediately excited for the puzzle aspect we heard about at the counter. All of the rooms were so cool and fun to check out. We ended up solving 2/3 of the puzzles and they were quite challenging! I will say it may have been even more enjoyable with less people around. It was a bit crowded and many times we were trying to solve puzzles and children would come between us and the interactive piece. We understand that it's an interactive experience for all so we didn't mind waiting. But it did slow down a bit of our excitement to solve a puzzle. Absolutely great time! This place involves all of your senses from room to room, voices, music, lights, darkness, textures. You don't know what to expect from room to room. Different rooms are decorated with all kinds of incredible creatures. It's hard to explain this place, you just need to go experience it! There is plenty of parking available and it is wheelchair accessible, saw three kids going through in wheelchairs. There is a small snack bar and bar with seating available. Also, a small gift shop with some nice t-shirts, sweatshirts and trinkets. There is also an arcade attached which was pretty cool, we walked through but didn't play anything. read more

This was a fun night out. I made a reservation for 9:30pm to enjoy the 21+ environment. Checkin was a breeze and once we activated our wristbands we were off to the bar. There are a few craft drinks or you can stick to a classic as well as beer and nonalcoholic options. After we grabbed our drinks we were off to enjoy 90 min of a lil fun competition. There wasn't a ton of people so we were able to navigate to the various games with ease. We made one round and then went back to our fave games. While visiting the Columbus a group of us decided to come by to check out Otherworld and it did not disappoint! The place was in a shopping center that seemed pretty empty but once we got inside it was like we entered another world. The place wasn't too packed and there was one worker at the front who was really sweet and patient with our group. They also allowed me to do a tour of the game area which I appreciated. There was a little something for everyone, adults and kids included. From the time we walked in we were met with room after room filled with interactive exhibits which we enjoyed. I don't want to give too much away as I don't want to ruin the surprise but I definitely recommend checking it out! The tickets were a bit pricey but after seeing everything inside I didn't feel too bad about paying so much. If you find yourself in the area, you should definitely make your way out to see them! read more

This place is just too cool. I went for the first time recently for a concert. I had a good idea of what to expect, as I've been the Meow Wolf in Denver, which is very similar and I believe connected to Otherworld in some way. The fact that they serve as a concert venue on top of their regular immersive art experience is pretty rad. The space is huge and it took me quite a minute to get the lay of the land. Every twist and turn you take you find something new to explore. I loved the interactive elements, like the computer room that will randomly Rickroll you. There's so many photo opps I lost count. As for the concert, the sound was great, and I had an absolute blast. A few things to note... Parking was super easy as there is a huge, free lot right out front. Getting through security was a breeze. The bathrooms were super clean and fully stocked. The staff was friendly and the lines to get a drink were never too long. I've heard that they oversell the space a lot, and while the show I went to was sold out (Ahee), it wasn't an issue at all. I can't wait to come back to experience the place in it's normal state. Our last trip here was in 2019, with a 9 month old and 3 year old in tow. What a cool repeat experience at 9 and 6! A few new exhibits plus some favorite memories. We spent about 2.5 hours, first generally exploring, then returning to favorite places. My kids love the hidden paths. It was a really cool experience and I hear they change it around to give you a new experience. We maybe spent an 1.5 hour total there. It's kind of pricey but it's something to see at least once. A cool interactive art museum in Ohio. Near Reynoldsburg this is a bit of a drive for anyone staying in Columbus but worth the visit. At $31 it was a little steep for something that didn't take me more than an hour to go through and we went at quite a busy time with a lot of other people. I definitely enjoyed the rooms that were more enclosed which felt more immersive. I've been to a handful of interactive immersive museums and this fits the vibe. I think something that takes away from the experience is being able to see the exit signs or the ceilings. The other ones I've been to in Tokyo and Barcelona are much more immersive. Art is subjective but some of the rooms felt like an art kids installation project. It's great that this is kid friendly but unfortunately kinda took away from my own experience. My friend and I decided to check out Otherworld one Friday night and had a great time. We arrived just in time for happy hour and took our cocktails on the journey with us. There's a whole storyline you can follow about how the otherworlds came to be, but we were just mesmerized by all the pretty colors and interactive elements. It took us about an hour and a half to make our way all the way through. We also popped into their new gaming area for a few minutes just to see what it was like. I have been wanting to go for sometime and finally had the opportunity to visit for my birthday. Otherworld is in a no longer used shopping center. They now have a Gameworld too. I didn't realize they were in the same building. They are two different sections that you pay for seperately. My friend and I took her son. He is younger and she thought he would fall asleep. Nope! He was wide awake the whole time looking at all the lights, mirrors and surroundings. His favorite part was jumping onto the giant beanbags. It is a neat one time experience. We walked through it in about an hour. There are tunnels, secret places, an interactive game, and activities and things to look at all along the way. The mirror rooms were my favorite. It was a bit pricey for how long we were there. It was cool to experience but I would probably never go back again. read more

We were in town for a concert and looking for something to do before heading home, and I kept getting ads for this so we decided to check it out. Well worth the hour or so we spent here. As many reviewers have commented, an "interactive art experience" is probably the best way to describe it. Every room is a little different with some hidden passageways connected rooms in neat ways. It's touted as family friendly, but the whole thing gave me Stranger Things vibes, so I don't imagine that *my* kids would have enjoyed this at all -- some of the rooms are dark (these can be avoided) but there's still an inherent creepiness to almost all of the rooms. Not that this is a bad thing, just something to know beforehand - it's all Otherworldly for sure, but sometimes in a cute way and sometimes in a creepy way. Just know what you're getting into. It was a slow evening when we went in the middle of the week, so we moved through things pretty easily and didn't really see too many other people - maybe every 3 or 4 rooms we'd bump into someone else, but we mostly explored alone. The puzzles weren't too appealing to us, but maybe we've missed it. Overall I thought this was a great deal for only $30 per ticket. Plenty to do for the price. read more

I've come back a few times, and both Otherworld and Gamegrounds are solidly "good". Otherworld and Gamegrounds are two separate "experiences" both within the same building. Tickets are purchased separately for each. You can do both back-to-back, but I'd really recommend coming back twice if you're in the area. It'll be a long day with lots of standing if you try to do them back-to-back. I'd describe Otherworld as an interactive visual experience with optional, hidden, unwritten-rules puzzles for you to explore. You can simply walk around Otherworld and enjoy all of the shiny views if you want, but if you're someone who likes to touch and figure out hidden meanings, Otherworld allows and encourages it. Otherworld is untimed, and spending 1-2 hours (just looking) would be normal and definitely 3-6 if you're trying to solve any puzzles. Gamegrounds is a timed experience where you can play as many games (each with slots for 6 players) as possible before time runs out. All games use digital scorekeeping. Unlike Otherworld, all the games are extremely straight-forward and rules are written out. Games feel like real-life versions of arcade-esque games like whack-a-mole or ball toss or Space Invaders. It's like a mix between old-school console arcade games and Super Mario Party. close-toed Gamegrounds is less mentally stimulating but way more physically stimulating. The games are designed to be difficult for adults, but since points don't really matter, it can work just fine to have kids + adults playing together. When we've gone (even on weekends), people tend to let you play with your own little group, and they'll wait their turn until afterwards. (i.e. A group of 2 behind us never tried to join our group of 3 in a game despite there being 6 slots). Prepare to move around quite a bit for Gamegrounds, and close-toed shoes would be helpful but not necessarily. Just plan for something you can stand for at least an hour in since the entire place is standing. Accessibility-wise, there are quite a few games that involve simply standing (not dodging or bending), though almost all games require regular use of the arms. All games are designed for young kids or adults who are standing, and most would be difficult in a wheelchair. PROS: -It's a really unique experience. Otherworld is really cool, and it's hard to find anything else to compare it to. It feels like exploring a real-life video game where there's a backstory and lots of interesting things to learn if you touch and read all of the "optional" info. There are no "quest markers". There's just lots of side quests and puzzles you can do if you fully explore each room you're in and put together the pieces. -Great job on Otherworld and Gamegrounds being both adult-friendly and kid friendly. Kids will love all of the shiny lights and interactive touching while adults can (if they want) get more mentally involved with the puzzles or skill challenges. This can make the entire place a great time for everybody of all ages (and of different interests in "art"). -Unlimited time in Otherworld is really amazing. It really lets you hang around all of the areas you like and spend as much time trying to solve the puzzles as you'd like. If you're here with groups/friends, there are lots of seated areas (in theme for the rooms in they're in) designed for sitting and talking. You can grab drinks and walk in/out of the Otherworld area as you please, making this a fun social spot if you have someone in your crew who wants to go super-deep into the puzzles and everyone else is just along for the ride. -I love the backstory and alternative universe/lore they've put into Otherworld. I don't even think I've scratched the surface of the universe they were trying to make, and we went into every room and spent over 3 hours here. -If you're staying hydrated or drinking any alcohol, the Gamegrounds area includes cupholders for its games. CONS: -The parking lot is a pothole nightmare. Drive slow. Almost every building surrounding here is abandoned, so take anything valuable inside with you. -To keep the place running, I'd assume, food/drink areas are staffed by a single employee. It looks like that employee will set up a sign that says "Be back later" if they go on a break or lunch or to the bathroom. We've had multiple times where we've tried to grab a water or a snack while getting hungry to not see anyone manning the place for a long while. We've taken to having to bring our own waters. -Some of the Otherworld puzzles/games don't seem to be functioning like they should. It might take a couple button presses to get something to register, and when it isn't registering right, it's hard to really understand if you're doing the unwritten puzzle "correctly" or not. -Quite a few of the Player 1 spots in the Gamegrounds area are in need of help. Since they see the most abuse, their mechanics seem to perform way less well than player spots 3-6. read more

It's a FANTASTIC attraction, one I wish was close to my home! We did a day trip to visit... but it was still beyond worth it! Honestly, the price tag for the value is actually cheap, at least if you really soak in the atmosphere and the vibes from room to room. Moreso if you spend half a day and solve all the puzzles yourself! A pretty massive walkthrough art exhibit, or maybe 'experience' is a better descriptor. I'm definitely looking forward to checking it out again some time during regular business hours! The different rooms were really fun, it was interesting to see which ones people gravitated towards. My fiancé and I were recently in Columbus attending a filmmaking convention when we were recommended a trip to OtherWorld. I expected it to be more of a 3D art museum, but it would be better described as a spooky sci-fi adventure. We started in a room that looked like a failed science lab. Following the doorways into another dimension, we were both pleasantly surprised by giant, furry dragons in bedrooms and interactive wall painting, then later disturbed by dancing 1930's cartoon characters during a funeral and bizarre alien-type creatures being studied in some sort of scientific study. It was easily the quickest 90 minutes we spent on a date! Though I wouldn't agree that $30 per person was worth the experience, we still had fun. Videos and photos are allowed as long as no flashes are used. It was pretty comfortable inside temperature-wise, I would recommend bringing a sweater if you're easily cold. read more

Really cool place- all the rooms are filled with interesting art installations, many of which are very interactive and fascinating. A few notes- the puzzles/games are damn near impossible to solve, and one is fully impossible because it's either broken or only works with certain cell phones. It also kills the magic when you can see the warehouse ceiling so clearly, and it's unclear who the place is for because it's crawling with kids who 100% could never solve the puzzles, but of course it's a cool wonder world for them, yet it makes it really hard for older kids/adults to navigate the space and stay immersed in the puzzle and story of it all. read more

This place was recommended to us and I'm so glad it was, we had such a fun time! One thing to know is that it is not super close to downtown, about 20 minutes out. Weirdly enough, in a completely abandoned shopping center where it seems to be the only thing still standing. I had recently visited the famous Meow Wolf in Denver (also in Vegas and Santa Fe,) and I kept thinking how this was basically a smaller version of that. It's a big, fun, trippy playground for all ages, essentially. The coolest part is how they incorporated art in so many ways here. Otherworld is an art experience, some of which are interactive puzzles. It's part photo op, part art museum, part funhouse. I would say it's for "all-ages" but I think teenagers/young adults would get the most enjoyment out of it, and be able to follow contextual clues hidden in the experience. We have been to the Philadelphia location, which has a lot of similarities to this one (the funeral section, the office, the basement, etc). So while we spent each $30 on tickets, we did about an hour here - not the fault of the talented designers, but more to see what is different and what is unique from the other version. If it's your first time, or if you want to read every piece of lore, it could take up to 2-3 hours to do everything. I do think there's something that could improve the experience. A map, a physical thing to carry around and check things off (even if areas are unfinished or marked with a "???" to not spoil a surprise) would be nice to see. I ended up taking a picture of the fire exit map to help with navigating and make sure we didn't skip anything, which I recommend until they have a real map to hand out for everyone. What is this place? It's 32,000 square feet of large scale immersive space and mixed reality -- 40 rooms of fantastic setups, some that challenge, some that puzzle, some that amuse. If you've been to Meow Wolf, you'll know what to expect! Somewhat! Otherworld is located in a somewhat desolate area off Chantry Drive -- not much here in this mostly empty shopping area -- lots of parking though. Once you enter, you are transported indeed to another world -- Beta testing at Otherworld Industries for their alternate realms. Adult tickets are $30 each, which seems reasonable given that they recommend you spend 1-3 hours here. We had a flight to catch so we didn't linger and toured the entire space in about 45 minutes once through. You may decide you want to revisit certain areas or realize you missed a room by taking an alternate route. We got here when it opened at 10am -- along with a bus of schoolchildren and other young families. You may decide to come later in the evening instead. This is a large space though and we often had many of the rooms to ourselves. There is no mystery to piece together like Meow Wolf Santa Fe, although the puzzle of Santa Fe is easily enough guessed, but that shouldn't deter you from thoroughly enjoying yourself. Why can't you just have fun? Come with a group of friends and just enjoy wandering through these artist-created dreamscapes together. read more

Our visit here exceeded my expectations! I had a group of ladies in town from 6 different states and we chose this as our activity for Sunday morning ($30/person). Every one of us enjoyed our experience and most of them want to come back another time! Our ticket time was 10:30 am on Sunday and I do think that resulted in a larger amount of kids running around. Not unruly or anything, but our group wasn't able to experience all of the interactive items. They have a snack bar with some themed alcoholic drinks that we didn't try. You can get some really cool photos here with different light and mirror rooms. I'd guess there's over 30 different rooms/areas and have been told they change them when something is worn out. Lots of color, things to touch, and cool experiences. Nothing was scary however their were some clowns in one room and possible other things some people might be scared of. read more

I have very mixed feelings about Otherworld. THE GOOD: *The employees walking around to help give hints, in terms of the hidden puzzles, were VERY kind. *The vast majority of the decorations were so unique and amazing. *$30 for unlimited time to wander? That's neat. THE BAD: *No TP in two of the restrooms. Considering that there were so many people there, in line, TP should be checked regularly. The line was long due to how limited our restroom options were. *Lots of hand sanitizer stations... that were empty. THE UGLY: *considering how much there is, how many people there are, and how big the place is, I was surprised with how clean it (at least appeared) to be. *The different environments were neat; however, it made everything very confusing. *We felt there should have been a mark to help you know which rooms were puzzles and which rooms were just interactive leisure rooms... we messed around with what we THOUGHT was a puzzle for like 25 minutes before we figured out it wasn't one. *While I said it was great to have the unlimited time for the price, the lack of crowd control was very stimulating. It's hard to walk around and complete puzzles when people get in the way. *the sensors on a lot of things didn't work... I'm giving it a 2; wish I could give it a 2.5.
