Buyer Beware.
It has been less than a year since we had work done by Home Pros.
My first clue should have been when they were at our house giving a quote. Mr. Leonard kept saying, "We get good reviews" over and over. He quoted us $2500 for our deck. When we said we were going to look around, he lowered it to $2000. When we said we were still going to look around, he gave us another $300 off.
After he left, I looked up the reviews. I was shocked to see that the "5 star" reviews all came from him and his immediate family members all with the same last name. We didn't cancel because we had a lot going on at the time, but let me tell you what to expect:
We chose "English Walnut". You tell me if this red paint looks like English Walnut to you or not.
We were sold on "the best deck stain available". You tell me if after a year, this looks like the best available to you.
After they finished, we had to call them back for another coat because it was horribly uneven and some spots were missed. Despite that, no sanding was done, no nails were pounded down, and the "quality stain" we supposedly paid for looks like this due to RAIN.
Bottom line, we were SCAMMED. Do not trust these people. The good reviews are from them themselves. When he was here, I even called him on that, and he said, "Well, you know how it goes...".
And now, you do too.

*Update: In response to the business owner's comments on my review, I can understand why he'd be defensive, but I stand by what I say.
We called this company back twice (for a total of three visits) because they had done minimal prep work before starting. Part of their sell was that they'd sand down the rough spots and pound nails down if sticking up, which seems like standard protocol to me, and neither of these things were done.
After they left the first time, the layers of stain were so poorly done along the railing that some spots looked like they had one layer and others looked like they had three layers, resulting in completely different colors along the same railing that was too obvious to ignore.
What I did not mention in my first review but feel compelled to now is that in addition to this, several items under the deck were not covered or protected as promised either. Unfortunately, both our hot tub and our air conditioning unit directly below had several splashes of stain on them, along with multiple other items.
Yes, it's true that we have a large Labrador, but few of these spots can be attributed to him. Regardless, in my opinion, "the best stain available" with adequate prep would not look like this after two short months. People have pets. I didn't expect to have to wear ballet slippers going outside. We have gates in places that do not allow our dog access to any of the areas pictured in these photos with the exception of the spot outside of our sliding glass door. In fact, the area with the worst damage of peeling and stripping is an area that NEITHER pets OR people walk on. That damage was caused by rain.
I'm clearly not the only one with this experience. Google it. As much as I prefer to support local businesses, some just don't deserve it. This company is highly dishonest. I heard after the fact that they used to go by Procraft but changed their name due to negative reviews. It's my duty as a fellow Yelper to call things as I see them, and that's what I see.
