    Sicilian Octopus

I have wanted to try this place, what a hidden gem! The bread and pesto kind of set the standard of what would follow. I ordered the starter Sicilian Octopus. It was delicious! The portion is BIG! The service is excellent!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like the ambiance too![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would love to come back again to try the other dishes!

I wanted to like this spot since this area is not full of dining options. We had reservations on a Tuesday evening after work. We walked in to empty restaurant at 6:00pm one other table was finishing. We ordered 2 entrees including my favorite veal parm and pasta , and also the short rib pasta with papperadelle pasta. They started out with bread and a sun roasted tomato dipping oil which was really good a great balance of sweet and savory. The bread and drinks got to the table and in less than five minutes both entrees came out. It was alarmingly fast. The veal breadcrumbs were seasoned well but fried so hard it was tough and rubbery. It was almost precooked and finished off. The pasta was fine and sauce was good. The short rib ragu was much tastier with large chunks of beef mixed with pasta. We did opt for dessert to go they have a good selection of in house made desserts. Wasn't impressed with the quality of the entrees and the speed of arrival to the table was what gives me pause especially for a Tuesday night empty restaurant. I could maybe understand on a busy Friday or Saturday but definitely not on Tuesday. The meal was subpar but the service was great. The waitress was from the area and engaged in conversation and was very attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself has good bones with a full service bar and separate dining area. Standard look and feel of an Italian restaurant[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. 98.77 all in for 2 entrees and 2 desserts fairly standard pricing these days. Probably a little on the higher side for the location.

Made a reservation and tried this restaurant for the first time and it did not disappoint. The waitress was very nice and welcoming. Got the eggplant parmigiana and was absolutely delicious. Thin sliced, crispy eggplant over spaghetti. Husband got the pan seared salmon that came out perfectly cooked. Service was quick! Will return again.

Went in here for a quick lunch and ended up ordering the whole menu, it looked all to good not to try! the food was amazing, every single thing we orderd! I'm so glad to have a restaurant like this is town. The menu size was perfect, pricing to portions was perfect you get a good amount of food! I will post some pictures of some of the thing we eat! Can't wait to try the dinner menu.

What a hidden gem! We went here as a party of 4 and have never felt so welcome! We ordered several appetizers and each ordered a different dish. The owner made it a point to visit each table to welcome each party and even brought us limoncello at the end of our meal! I ordered the beet salad to start (large enough to share!) and tortelloni which I highly recommend. I am vegetarian and there were several options for me to choose from from for both appetizers and entrees. So glad to have such a great spot on this side of the bridge- we can't wait to go back!

I always try meatballs at a place new to me. These meatballs were a little on the small side but tasted pretty good. The marinara didn't stand out with any particular seasoning or flavor. It was almost like a thick tomato soup with the color of a vodka sauce. Might have been the light. The pizza I asked for well done. The top looked really good! The bottom was just cooked enough. The first few slices had a good crunch. After 8 minutes, the crust gave out and became real soggy. Pretty sure their oven can't keep up with demand. The bottom should have cooked more. The pepperoni they use seems real salty. The pan pies looked much better. The paste dishes looked pretty good too. I'm sure had I come at a slower time, the bottom of the pie would have cooked better. I would choose a topping other than pepperoni for the win. Cannoli tastes fresh and crisp.

It was also thrown in the container and totally deconstructed when received.. Thieves. Ripping people off during these difficult times. Every time I order from you I'm pissed .. When I made our reservation online, I included a special request asking if we could be seated by a window to enjoy the river and, hopefully, the sunset. They were able to accommodate our request, and we had a beautiful view of the river. It was a little cloudy, so the sunset wasn't spectacular, but the scenery still made for a wonderful evening. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. We started with the Fried Fresh Mozzarella Bruschetta, and it was outstanding. The fresh tomatoes, perfectly fried mozzarella, and balsamic reduction came together beautifully. The mozzarella was cooked just right--not overdone to the point where all the cheese oozes out--which made for a great bite every time. Cindy ordered the Scallop Risotto, served in a lemon butter wine sauce. The risotto had a great consistency--not watery at all--and the scallops were perfectly tender. The flavors were fresh, rich, and well-balanced. I chose the Frutti di Mare Risotto, featuring sautéed mussels, clams, jumbo shrimp, crab meat, broccoli rabe, and cherry tomatoes. This dish exceeded my expectations. Every piece of seafood was tender and flavorful. I did encounter a little sand in a couple of the mussels, which can occasionally happen with shellfish, but it certainly wasn't enough to take away from an otherwise fantastic meal. To finish the evening, the staff brought out a celebratory chocolate birthday cake for Cindy. It was incredibly moist with a delicious cream cheese filling--the perfect ending to a memorable birthday dinner. One final tip: if you decide to take a walk around the grounds after dinner, keep an eye out... you might find someone taking a nap outside. Overall, Riverwinds delivered excellent food, outstanding service, and a beautiful atmosphere. Between the attentive staff, delicious seafood, and scenic river views, we'll definitely be back.

Way too expensive for the food and experience…read more Yes I went there for Easter. Yes it was a holiday menu. Are you serious that chicken fingers and fries were $20.99? On the kids menu? This place does not serve exceptional food. It's not a Michelin star stop. It's a typical Italian style place with a good view who apparently hates beer and thinks their food is far better than it actually is. The pricing is insane. Actually, worse than that, screw these people. That's how pissed they made me. My rib eye wasn't even rendered properly with lots of connective tissue and thick hard fat. My kid's salad was drenched in dressing he didn't like despite us ordering it on the side. The $25 shrimp cocktail was literally 4 unseasoned shrimp. The $20 calamari app was half fried pepper rings. Everything was double what it should have cost. Are these morons serious with their prices? I can't believe this horrible place is still in business. It's insulting. Almost like they are trying to keep out the riff raff. I hate them for that. If you are going to have prices like this, you better serve perfect food. I seriously will never give them another chance. They don't deserve it. Who do they think they are?
