So the only reason I like Ossip is that it is right next to Sun King (kidding...sort of). I have been coming to this Ossip for a very long time and Dr. Fiddler has always been a good steward for my eye care. Growing up I always went to smaller optometrists but this (not smaller) location is terribly convenient. The staff is generally nice and explains everything adequately. One item I really like is you don't have to typically wait very long to get contacts or glasses; my wife and kids go to a smaller place and I swear sometimes it takes 3 weeks to get stuff. In the past I brought my son here for a scratch on his cornea and he was treated well for his injury. Seems like Ossip carries a lot of overhead with staff and the frames business appears like a real scam. But overall no complaints with me at this location. read more

Dr. Fiddler is great and very thorough. He takes the time to get to know you personally in addition to making sure he reviews your medical history each time. Definitely opt for the $45 retinal screening and take care of those fabulous eyeballs of yours! It's way less scary than the old school puff-of-air-shooting-you-in-the-eye diagnostic methods of long ago. Zane (tall bearded guy with the cool specs) in the optical department is hilarious and super helpful. The one downside to Ossip is the price of their contacts - they quoted me $550 for a year's supply of daily disposables. I checked around online, and I can get the same brand/quantity for over $200 less. read more

Bait and switch! Everyone warned me not to go to Ossip and I should've listened to them. When I made the appointment the rep provided one price for a contact and glasses exam and then after I was already underway with the exam the tech explained that they were actually two separate exams and it was going to cost me over double the quoted price. I left midway through the exam. Money isn't the issue, I just do not like being swindled. Even the tech apologized and eluded to the fact that is the way they do business. I regret not writing about this sooner. For our wedding, I wanted to get custom Oakley sunglasses for my groomsmen. I know you can do that on their website, but somehow I ended up speaking to someone at Ossip. They were TREMENDOUSLY helpful. The gal there put me in touch with their regional representative for Oakley who helped put our order together. She set up a meeting so we could meet with him and look at all kinds of samples. We were even able to get a custom pair for my wife (with our wedding date etched in the lens). The out-of-their way service was great and they gave us a discount since we bought 7 pairs of sunglasses. I can't speak to the optometry side of their business, but from a sunglass vendor and customer service standpoint alone, I'm giving 5 stars here. read more

Only giving 1 star because you cannot leave 0 stars. Horrible experience twice and my son never even saw the optometrist! Over Christmas break my son mentioned that he was having a hard seeing the board at school so I went online and scheduled an appointment for January 2 at 11:30 AM. I received a confirmation email from Ossip Olio. On January 2, I arrive at the office with my son at 11:15 and it was closed. Several days later, I received a voicemail from the office explaining that they were experiencing issues with the online scheduling system. At that time, I did not have the time to reschedule and take my son back in. I understand that sometimes companies have issues with technology so figured I would give them another chance. I finally had a break in my schedule and asked my husband to schedule an appointment at Ossip Olio for after school or over spring break. Again, I received a confirmation email from Ossip Olio confirming my appointment for April 7 at 4 PM. I left work early and had to arrange to have my son at home by a certain time so that I could take him to his rescheduled appointment. We arrived at 3:55 PM. The women at the front desk told me that they had no record of my son in their system and that I must have scheduled at the wrong optometrist. I told them that I knew it had been scheduled for this location because the other location they were referring to does not take my insurance. She told me that clearly my husband didn't schedule the appointment or I had the date wrong because they don't even do 4 PM appointments on Fridays. I explained that this was the 2nd time I've had an issue with their scheduling and that they should look at getting a new system or putting a notice on the website to not schedule using the online scheduling tool. I walked out to my car and remembered that I had received a confirmation email for both appointments. I walked back in and showed her the confirmation emails. First, she told me that their online scheduling tool doesn't work. And then, she had the nerve to question whether the email was valid or real since they don't have a record of the appointment in their system. Why would I fabricate an email and cause myself the headache??? The doctor may be awesome - I don't know as I've never gotten far enough in the appointment to see her - but her staff sucks - rude, condescending, and incompetent. read more

I called to see what there availability was, & was routed to a call center. Rather than just tell me the availability they had the rep took ALL of my information. Then when they didn't have anything that would fit my schedule I asked the rep to delete my information. She told me she wasn't able to do so. I emailed them & they stated that they deleted my information & offered me a free exam, & a few extra things. I went in & the ladies were very nice, the Dr even apologized for the bad experience. The frames were expensive as all get out. I requested my prescription, which they gave me, & I'll buy my frames from coastalcontacts.com for far cheaper. read more

The selection was small but decided to purchase through Ossip due to insurance indicating they were a premiere vendor. Honestly the cost seemed extremely high, not sure if they are marked up to just be marked down? When we purchased the glasses they didn't go into any detail as to the breakdown in costs or options for lens types etc. Throughout the process I called and left a VM (as they often don't answer the phone) no one ever called back answering my questions. Once my daughter received her glasses they weren't overly friendly in offering to assist her in the proper set up of her new glasses. Honestly would try to more local vendor or just purchase online next time. Will not be using them again. read more

This isn't a review on the doctor, who I was satisfied with, but rather a reaction to the strange customer service by the office staff. I chose Ossip because they were top-rated in a local "Best of Indy" listing, but their men's frames selection is not particularly different than anywhere else. I wound up taking my eyeglass prescription to See in The Fashion Mall and found tons of great frames. More importantly, when three weeks had passed, and I still hadn't gotten my trial pair of new contacts, I called to check on them, and Andy said "they were ordered on the 25th, and came in and you were called on the 27th." I said that I wasn't called, and he said the records said that they had tried to call, but couldn't get a clear signal, whatever that means. When I asked if they tried to call back, he didn't have an answer. I'm going to go in and pick up the lenses, but I don't have much motivation to continue with this place. read more

Not happy with the Customer service here. While it is pretty expensive to get an eye exam and frames/lenses here, they do not provide a case or lens cleaning spray when you get new lenses each year. The reason being that you did not purchase new frames and hence you do not get a case for your glasses. And, the CSR in the front office tells me that they ran out of lens cleaning spray when I can see a whole bunch sitting up on the shelf behind him. The fact that I paid over $250/- for the eye exam and the lenses did not seem to count. It was quite pathetic to watch him lie and I won't be going back as I do not wish to put up with the likes of him again! read more

I have always loved coming to this office because of the service. Recently I went back to school and lost my amazing insurance and had to receive HIP instead. I have been calling to make an appointment since May and to make sure my insurance was accepted. There was still some information I needed and I called my insurance to double check and get the information the office would need. I show up to my appointment ahead of time to make sure everything is in order, only for the receptionist to tell me they don't take my insurance at this location. I spoke to various employees and gave them the type of insurance I had before my apoointment and no one told me they didn't take it and of course they choose to tell me two of their locations which are at minimum 45 mins away actually take my insurance. Why was I not made aware of this before taking the time off work to come to this appt. This is ridiculous!!!!! This is the first time I have ever gotten such bad service at Ossip and sadly it really put me off. Sorry Ossip, I will no longer be back. Update: The employee at the Fishers location told me another one of their locations took my insurance, but when I called to verify I was told that they, in fact, did not take my insurance!!! Greenwood location ... If I could rate it a ZERO I would!!!! I went to them when our company switched vision insurance thinking it would be a good place to go...NOT!!!! Here it is 12/15/17, my husband and I went 10/7/17 for our exams. First, we were not given any information on what frames were in the category that was paid by our insurance and no frame in the store was marked. When I got to the counter, I was informed the frames I had chosen were $375. Next, after I ordered the glasses, (nearly $600 later and I had insurance) I was told they would be there in 2 weeks. What did I hear? Crickets . . . I finally had to call them to find out the glasses were there but they failed to notify me. To top all of this off, my husband ordered his contacts on 10/7/17 and, 2 1/2 months later he still does not have them after multiple phone calls (To them; heaven forbid they have the common courtesy to give us a call and a status) and visits. I took his prescription to another provider and they said the longest it should ever take even with back order is 2 weeks. How in the Hell is my husband supposed to see? Our insurance already paid them and we have NOTHING to show for it. If I order the contacts elsewhere, we have to pay out of pocket. Then, yesterday, I received a bill for $12.50 from them. Seriously?! At this point, I would say THEY owe ME money. NEVER WILL I EVER USE THIS FACILITY AGAIN. We had better service at Walmart! read more
