I love Dr. Busby, I used to be a -6.5 prescription, but I got lasik. Dr. Busby was diligent with my check ups post op, and was always great with my contacts/glasses scripts prior. She would even remember that I liked coffee and mentioned it to the receptionist to make sure she made me a cup. What doc does that? One that cares for her patients. I go about 1x a year nowadays for a check in, and have continued to get great care from all the Drs Busby, Feipel & Ray. Also they offer a free eye checkup for babies. Dr. Ray was great with my kiddo and had a fun little light up toy so she wasn't frightened during the exam. They are a great asset to the community. read more

I'm about as tough a patient as it gets. I had RK, corrective surgery, before it was known that it can have negative side effects after several years and was replaced by lasik. As a result, I have troublesome vision that includes a diurnal shift, where my script changes as the day progresses. This makes it very difficult to get a script that can get me through the day and requires a doctor willing to take the time to find a working combination. Dr. Feipel is such a doctor and I appreciate his diligence in getting my vision properly corrected. Horrible, horrible experience. I ordered my glasses before Thanksgiving. It is now Jan 4, and I still do not have the glasses. The first pair, the staff (or the computer since it's automated) didn't call me. 2 weeks after ordering, I called. I went in, wasted an hour of my day because the glasses were measured wrong. The second and third attempts ended in scratched lenses which were returned to the manufacturer. On December 20th, I was called and told that the lenses were again scratched. I pointed out that it had been a month since the original order was placed, and was told that I was the person who needed to understand. It was the lab's fault- not theirs. (At this point, I no longer cared. And I really don't think that after 4 weeks, it was unreasonable to expect the office to live up to their contractual agreement and provide the glasses I ordered.) Somehow, I managed to get the glasses that same day, even though they were scratched. They were wrong, and I was seeing double. I was told that I could see a doctor again but not for 6 days. I was supposed to wear the glasses, (but not to drive since- double vision) for the 6 days to see if I got used to them. My husband went in to yell at them. Suddenly, they were able to see me on the 22nd. The astigmatism correction was not correct, but considered "close enough to be acceptable" by the office. The new glasses came in on 1-3. Or at least that is what I was told, I still haven't seen them because after 6 weeks, I'm still not enough of a priority to inspect the glasses immediately. I just want this ordeal to be over. I've had more positive experiences with big box stores- and they weren't that great. This has been a horrible and disappointing experience. I thought it would be better than the big box stores. Instead, it has been twice as long. 6 weeks and counting. No idea if they will every be right. No idea if anyone in that office with any say at all will even condescend to offer an apology for this fiasco beyond the "You need to understand" nonsense. After 6 weeks, I don't need to understand- I need what I paid for which is a pair of glasses that are the prescription my eyes need and "aren't just close enough." read more

I have always felt welcomed at Busby Eye Care where they go the extra mile to make you feel like a friend and not a customer. My wife and I have been customers for 20+ years. Recently had a problem with Varilux lens with Crizal Sapphire UV coating. I visited the office personally and allowed staff to examine the lens. The staff suggested that excessive heat due to storage of glasses in a hot car was the culprit. The lens are 16 months old. Staff explained the warranty was one year and even then it wouldn't apply to heat damage. I went to a competitor who also handles Varilux and Crizal Sapphire UV coating. Competitor explained that warranty is 2 years and it is also unconditional. After all these years as a customer I am disappointed in Busby Eye Care. The only remedy offered was to sell me new lens for $525.00. read more

Our family has gone to Dr Busby for the last 10 years. Her practice has really taken a turn for the worse. Last time I had an appointment I had to wait 15 minutes to get in. Today after waiting for 25 minutes, the receptionist walks into the waiting room and informs me "they are running late" Really? She wants me to schedule a new appointment. This practice does not value their customers time! After sending me two emails and receiving two calls to make sure I was on time for my appointment, they decide I should return when they are not running so late. Well I took their advice and made another appointment with a DIFFERENT practice. There are way too many great Eye Doctors that value their customers time then get stuck here. Do yourself and your family a favor and do not go to this practice. Find a Dr. who will treat you with respect and be on time!!!! read more

I have been a patient of Kathy's since she began as an optometrist and have followed her to several diffferent locations. I cannot say enough positive about her professionally as well as personally. She is extremely competent as well as kind, patient and concerned. I have some out of the ordinary eye issues that she monitors closely & has made referrals when needed. I'm an RN and trust her judgment implicitly. In the last year I took my 85 year old aunt to her, who has some complicated eye issues. This was my Aunt's first visit and Kathy could not have been more kind and patient with her, taking a long time to explain things to her as well as encourage her. Our whole family has gone to her for years and we couldn't be happier. My children began wearing contact lenses in her office. I have always been very happy with the glasses/contacts that I have ordered .The office has an extensive frame selection, of many high end designers(it is Carmel, you know!) & will take the time to find a frame that works for you. I can assure you that my rating was not solicited. I just happened to be a very satisfied patient. This was my first time visiting Busby Eye Care yet I felt like we had known each other for years. He was able to answer all my questions. I had a good experience with the eye doctor & found my exam to be thorough. My only concern was with buying glasses. If you're on a budget or in a time crunch you may consider ordering your glasses somewhere else. This is the first time I've ever purchased glasses, so I can't be sure what the "norm" is, but I found the three week lead time a bit surprising. I also found the exact frames I ordered online for at least $60 cheaper than what I paid. Like I said, they do a good thorough eye exam, but consider your options if you need to purchase glasses. read more
