She asked if I needed any assistance or if she can help printer registry for me. I declined politely. Shortly thereafter I could not find the exact item I was looking for, rather several similar. I decided to take this woman up on her assistance. She said down at the computer and looked up several items.... I really appreciated her time, attention to detail, and overall level of customer service. Also, as this was my first time at the store, or any buy-buy baby location I was thrilled by the countless boxes they offer you for free. All shapes and sizes to choose from. Also they had 2 different colored ribbons and a 2-sided wrapping paper. Nothing to please me more this time... This beats the heck out of babies R us. Strongly dislike they're cheap white wrapping paper with their logo all over it.

From top to bottom, left to right there's walls and aisles and pegs and displays of baby clothes, toys, furniture, gadgets and gizmos. You name it, it's there, somewhere. BBB stands out against their competition because of their outstanding customer service. We registered here for our babycakes and it was the best experience as a new mom. The staff played a tremendous part in that. They are trained for specific items, like car seats and strollers so that they are the most knowledgeable of features and safety requirements. I didn't know this until our first walk through. She said she could take us through most of the store, except the car seat and stroller section because she wasn't certified so she would rather have us meet with someone who was trained on the products. I really appreciated that. Registering here has its perks. + You get a 10% coupon to use on anything after your baby shower, including name brands that are excluded from their regular 20% off a single item coupon (except diapers and wipes). + They offer free scheduled walk-throughs to help parents with questions, suggestions and recommendations. I highly suggest this for new moms! The registry should be FUN not stressful. + Top knotch customer service. + Baby galore. Everything you need from size closet organizers (so helpful!) to cribs. + The registry is like a receipt for purchased items, so you can still return things if you've lost or didn't receive a gift receipt. + They will take back unused items from your registry for up to one year. + Again, wonderful customer service. Their service doesn't stop after the registry. Even post pregnancy, at least once someone on the floor asks if I need help finding anything. Oh, and if they don't have something in stock, they will ship it to your house (for most items) for free. Their service, selection, and cleanliness outperforms their competitors. Take a breath, new moms and enjoy!

Once Upon a Child isn't perfect. The staff is hit or miss, and some items are in better condition than others, but it's a gold mine for children's toys, clothes, and much, much more. You can find all the boots, and gloves, and hats, and toys, and more, at very affordable prices. The sheer size of the selection is mind-boggling coming from NYC, where space is so limited. I understand that you want to buy some nice, new clothes for your kids every once in a while, but (1) you can find some new or nearly new stuff here and (2) they've got to wear clothes every day, and they outgrow stuff in a week. Join the circular economy, and do a little bit of your shopping here. :: steps off soapbox ::

I prepared everything and drove 1 hour and 20 minutes, just to be told that they won't accept my container cause there was a crack down the side of it, which happened while I was struggling to open the door to enter the store. No worker offered to help me get through the door despite watching me struggle and then no worker greeted me on top of that. Just stared and watched as I approached the counter. I put my bin down and she said 'she can't accept the clothes cause the container was torn' I tried to explain that I don't live near to grab another container and she said I could go buy one across the street. I am very disappointed cause my baby clothes were new with tags still on and I know they would have taken at least half of the clothes... I will never use this business again. Terrible customer service. I almost started crying and they just stared at me. And told me that most people call ahead for that type of information and I did! I called when they opened. I had everything ready, I cant control that my hands were full and the door at their location was heavy and cracked my container. Just an awful experience.

On the hunt for a glider to put in our baby's room my husband and I went to visit Simon's Baby…read moreFurniture. The store has easy parking right out front, and on the particular Saturday we went, around 11AM, the store wasn't too crowded. When we entered the store there was several other couples and families browsing, and I spotted at least two sales associates at a check out counter. Nobody acknowledged our presence or asked if we needed help. I'm not normally one to demand a sales associate greet me, but at some point during my visit to a store, especially a furniture type store where you are definitely going to have a question or need help to make a purchase, it would be nice if someone at least said hello. No one who worked there said anything to us at any point, let alone tried to make a sale. In fact, at one point one of the sales associates and I almost bumped into each other as we walked past each other, and I apologized for being in her path, and she didn't even look at me or say anything, just kept walking! We should have left just then, but I was determined to try to check prices on the gliders. Without assistance we walked the entire store trying to find the glider I had priced online. The glider inventory was spread out all over the store, making it hard to find, especially without help. Eventually we stumbled into a large room that looked like a dumping spot for things they had no other space for. The gliders were all randomly placed, and most of them lacked price tags. We tried out a few of the chairs. Still no help. We went online on our phones to try to figure out the prices of the ones without tags. Impossible to tell. The ones that did have prices were just as expensive, if not more, than the big chain store we had previously looked at. After being there quite a while without even a peep from a sales associate, and discussing the fact we can use coupons at the big chain store, and the chain store's glider prices were the same, if not better, we left. It seemed clear during our visit that Simon's didn't care about making a sale. The store is poorly laid out, inventory unorganized, prices missing, old sale signs that were no longer applicable were still taped on several items, and no one working at the store even seemed to care that we were there. We will not being going back and I would not recommend this store to anyone.

My son was born in June - still no glider. I was told there was a problem with the fabric (even tho i ordered the most basic fabric possible). This turned out to be a total lie anyways. After 8 weeks I was told that the particular brand i ordered takes 8 to 10 weeks to arrive (first i heard this) AND that manufacturer is closed in the summer (something they never mentioned to us when we were ordering). Its August and i still do not have my glider and every time i call they can't find my order and say they'll call back but they never return my call. I am fairly sure my son will be going to college when this glider comes in.... if at all. Don't go to Simons and spend 700 on a glider... I'd recommend getting one at walmart. It may be less quality but at least you'll get to use it while the kid is still an infant! TERRIBLE customer service!
