A number of years ago, I had dinner at this restaurant when it was named Stanford Grill. The…read moreexperience was not good so, since then, I have refused to return even after it changed to Glenwood's. My philosophy is that there are simply too many restaurants in the world to return to a bad one. However, I was not aware that Glenwood's has upped its game. A lot! A helluva lot!!! While the ownership is still the same, everything else has changed - for the better! The dining room is neutral and completely understated. Quiet interior. Hushed energy and soft music. Beautiful finishes. Every surface I touched was clean, warm and modern. The service too was excellent. The hostess was friendly. She led us to one of the biggest booths I have ever occupied. Our server, Erika, was friendly too - also fast, good, charming, well-spoken and hard working. She helped us navigate the menu and made our dining experience really really nice. She is a credit to the restaurant! Of course, you go to a restaurant for the food and Glenwood's does NOT disappoint here either. Based on Erika's suggestion, we started with the Ahi Tuna Battera - a kind of sushi "roll" that is shaped/designed more like layered lasagne (Erika's description, not mine). It was great and almost too big for appetizer size. But I'm not complaining! For our main course, we both ordered the Fire Roasted Rotisserie Chicken. OMG! Delicious. Moist moist MOIST!!! I do not know what the chef put in that marinade but it was out of this world fantastic. Big big BIG!!! A half chicken with plenty of succulent meat on it. Neither one of us spoke until our chickens were picked clean. I only wish I could rotisserie a chicken that good! It was one of the best chickens I have ever eaten. For dessert, we gobbled down the cheesecake, making official gluttons out of ourselves! It was creamy, substantial and the perfect finish to our great meal. The negative to Glenwood's is its location. It is in a non-descript Rockville office building that is nothing special; but locked up and dark at nighttime. There is no other retail business within sight of the restaurant. This weird, lonely location gives it an abandoned - almost desolate - ambiance from the exterior. Driving by, I had almost thought it was a dining room for a retirement home. So, I started out this review by explaining that my bad experience at Stanford Grill kept me from enjoying a good dining experience at Glenwood's. I could not ignore the taint Stanford had given that place. But Glenwood's is a completely different place. The menu had so many great dishes that I want to return and try. I will definitely be back and I can see it becoming "my place." I highly recommend Glenwood's for a great meal in a great restaurant!

It's gorgeous and huge with large umbrellas at each table to keep out the direct sun. Hasina (manager) actually waited on us and she was wonderful as well. I got the Lobster Salad with the citrus vinaigrette dressing - it was the best lobster salad. My Mom had the Lobster Roll that came with house made potato chips and I tasted both and they were both wonderful. For dessert we split the chocolate mousse cake and it was the best we have ever had and came with a toffee crunch crust on one side. The ambiance was perfect, all the waitstaff (and there are plenty) were super attentive and so pleasant. The food was spectacular. We will be back in the fall when they change to their fall/winter menu and decorate the patio with pumpkins and turn the water fountain into a fire pit!

We were looking for a quiet setting without too much disruption and nice ambience plus good food. Unfortunately this place missed on all attempts I really love the outdoor seating arrangements with the fire pits lights and parking space I think this is a great place to grab a drink and chit chat in the summer but aside from this I wouldn't be in a hurry to come back I ended up coming for dinner and it's very small on the inside with no more than 10 tables. We sat at a small table near the bar because that is one of the seats they had available. Their menu is not very expansive Here's what we ended up getting in an attempt to try a few different things The mushroom risotto was tasty The ribeye steak was horrible. I asked for it to be cooked medium and it was pretty bloody and rare. My friend doesn't mind it and I don't send back food so I couldn't eat it at all but honestly seeing something that bloody grossed me out totally. They also brought the ribeye which was full of fat and not a good cut of meat for the price they're asking for in both of our opinions with two starch dishes one which mashed potato and the other one was sweet potato and other root vegetables cut up. There was no option to ask for a different side. Dessert was lemon ricotta cake which honestly was kind of a bummer because it was sugary frosting that I could get at a Costco bakery The inside setting has a fireplace which is nice. One of the things that was a little bit different about our evening is the local patron who was there was a bit loaded and kept at our table we were trying to be polite about it but her husband didn't call her back and neither did the wait staff the wait staff did their best to get us distracted enough to move but the seat that they put us in was closer to the door and rather cold. I also got the impression that they were hoping to close up shop because the end dinner service at 9:00 p.m. and I had a seats in at around 7:45. I think the price is rather high given the quality of the food and not worthwhile. The only thing that I really did like about this place was the outdoor ambience so I might be inclined to come here with a group in the summer to sit by the fire pit chill out and hang and drink. Aside from that I'm not really loving the vibe of this place Plenty of parking in a private lot which is free. It's in a foresty part of Potomac if you like that kind of thing this will be a nice getaway not too far from the city.

Everything I tried was fantastic, from the perfectly prepared chicken kebabs to the cod with farro. The blackberry vodka cocktail was beautiful and delicious, and the saffron steamed milk with ginger for dessert was absolute perfection. The entire concept feels current, welcoming, and effortlessly cool without trying too hard. Can't wait to return the next time I'm back in town for meetings!

Although he will lead most times, I pick one place every weekend so we can check it off together. This Friday (5/16) I picked Julii! He's a regular so although super packed they made it work and sat us immediately without a reservation. This place is popular and a reservation is needed. While I thought the menu was limited, it does the job. I wanted Branzino and had that in my mind the whole day but was disappointed that it wasn't on the menu. Welp, y'all know I love a burger. Service was fantastic! Ambiance feels like stepping into a French‑Mediterranean boutique café that someone elevated into a luxury dining room. It's warm, intimate, and softly glamorous without trying too hard. Let's get into it! Chicken Kabob - Seasoned perfectly over rice! Really good! Burger - Added bacon and mushrooms- Absolutely delicious! Drinks were delicious! No apps because I wasn't that hungry! I will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

I finally tried their brunch items on Mother's Day this year. My family enjoyed their breakfast burrito, burger with shoe string fries, and Cobb salad. The burrito was packed with eggs, chorizo, and all the fun sauces, making each bite flavorful and filling. I was pretty full after eating just half of it, and it came with a side of breakfast potatoes too. My only complaint about my experience here was that my entree came out 10 minutes before my dad's burger did. I know it w an be hard to time for all dishes to be ready at the same time, but I would have preferred for them to keep my entree on a heating plate rather than delivering it when it was ready. Overall, the restaurant offers traditional American items, with a slight spin. I am curious about their fried bacon sticks are about. The Grove compares to Ted's Bulletin in terms of ambiance, price, food options, and quality.

An hour later we regretted the decision. A breakfast burrito shouldn't take an hour to be made and the beauty of an open kitchen is that you can literally see the moment the chefs realize there's an empty spot on their griddle where a burrito should have been. I'm giving three stars because of the fact that the staff were probably exhausted from a brunch party that was ending; but what happened to the good ol days where bar staff were attentive and offered assurance rather than essentially ignoring our existence until we reminded them that we're not just keeping the seat warm while watching ice melt in our expensive drinks. The kicker... The burrito wasn't even hot when it arrived! The more I think about it, the more upsetting it is because I hate giving bad reviews. After second thought, I'm giving it two stars for the lack of accountability, service, and quality of food. We've gotten better service from plenty of places that were way more crowded and busy.
