Great food. Really nice. Great waitresses. White table cloths I enjoyed it. Can't wait till next date night!

If I was able to leave 5.5 stars, I would. Beyond perfect food, service, ambience. Our waiter was more than attentive to us, food was cooked to perfection! We are from out of town and would recommended this place to EVERYONE! read more

Had a wonderful dinner here with family! Our waiter was attentive and personable and we had a great table! It wasn't very busy when we first arrived but when we left, it was packed--aka make reservations! We each got a different dish and they were all DELICIOUS. Heavy favorite were the shrimp & grits and the braised short ribs! A true gem in the heart of our town! read more

We had a delicious steak dinner. The service was impeccable and the food was excellent. This is an old style steak house with plenty on the menu to please everyone. read more

This place is beautiful, tasteful, the service is great and friendly! They have a charming Christmas decorations right now... If you want to beat the crowd, come for an earlier dinner around 5-5:30pm. Their Seafood Taco was superb!!! read more

Atmosphere is really nice but the service was very slow. We had a 730 reservation but we were among the last 2 tables to leave as it took that long to get our food. We had 4 people at our table. read more

Great fresh food with reasonable prices and a great menu. Great service with great servers. 10/10 recommend

Been here twice and was not disappointed. The french onion soup was on POINT! Always very friendly staff. Also like the daily specials that they have in the pub area. Servers are polite and interactive. Like family! read more

OMGOSH, what a fantastic restaurant!! During our travels we rely of Yelp to help us for our meals, and needless to say you guys didn't steer us wrong again. What delicious food and you can tell is made with great ingredients and a very skillful staff. The fritters were utterly sinful. They were chock full of seafood and very little filler. The drizzle of apricot jam added a touch of sweet and heat. If was a great pairing. The She-Crab soup had a flow or that I personally was not a fan of (I think it was old bay) that was too over powering. However, it contained a very ample supply of crab meat. The French Onion soup was very good, but was not served hot enough (which we easily corrected on the second heating), the broth had a great depth of flavor and their were plenty of onions. The shrimps and grits were delightfully delicious. They can adorned with lots of bacon, mushrooms and a lovely almost lobster bisque type sauce. Again, another home run. The Braised Short rib was served over some great homemade mashed potatoes and delightful collard greens, which was all topped with some shoestring fried onions. We finished off this wonderful meal with their seasonal dessert special of Pumpkin Bread pudding, In a word...sinful! To top this great meal off was the outstanding staff. We couldn't have found a better place. read more

We had a wonderful first visit to Oscar's. After living in Summerville for two years, why finally decided to give it a try and we're not disappointed. We made a reservation for 6:00 and arrive at 5:45 to our table already set. Our waiter was very polite and accommodating, quick to grab our beer and take our orders. We ordered the crab dip appetizer which was good, but nothing compared to the entrees. The ribeye could melt in your mouth and had perfect flavor. The shrimp and grits were also some of the best around. It was a pricey dinner, but 100% worth it for a date night. read more

Nice family place. However with prices that nearly match a fine steakhouse. That in itself is not the problem. The problem is the food quality does not match the price. I ordered the strip sirloin at $34 it was horrifically salty the marinade that was used was all you could taste. The flavor of steak was totally missing. You can get a much better steak at Applebee's for half the price. My wife had the fruity DeMar dish which was billed as being light Cream sauce. It was anything but light! She could not finish as it was so heavy. We are new to the area and were told that this was the place to go for steakhouse quality food. I apparently got very bad advice. This was the first time and last time we will dine here. We won't be back! read more

The food is always better than what you expect. Never had anything I didn't like. Best calamari in town!!!

Atmosphere was very good. Ordered the ribs, grilled chicken, fried shrimp and grilled corn. Ribs were bland and chicken was dry without flavor The shrimp and corn were excellent. Wait staff were very friendly and attentive. This was my first time. Would try again because the shrimp and grilled corn were so good but can't recommend the ribs or grilled chicken. read more

The Internet told me it was one of the best places in town, but I'm not so sure. The steak on my salad was tough as leather and overcooked. There was almost no bleu cheese and the tomatoes could have been plastic. They forgot the dressing. The cocktail sauce for the shrimp cocktail had so much horseradish as to be inedible. Maybe I just ordered wrong, but I was not impressed. I will say the service was very nice and the ambiance very "old school." read more

We have been going to oscars for years and everything I have tried has been amazing. I absolutely love the salmon.

Before we got to town everyone who lives in the area told us to go to this place, we gave it a shot and had our anniversary dinner there, we had the shrimp pasta and broiled pork chops, both were very good but what really made our meal was our server, he was so attentive and pleasant, constantly checking to see if we needed anything, we would definitely go back just for the service, at the end of the meal the wait staff brought us a little dessert with 31 on the plate for our anniversary, definitely returning. read more

Food was not worth the price. Must be a new chef because the she crab soup was hardly edible. In 2018, the food was great, so in 2021 when I was waiting for my delicious food to arrive. Well not worth the wait and for those prices! read more

Shrimp and Grits with bacon. Are you kidding me! Great food great service nice atmosphere. Highly recommended

The burritos at lunch are the best thing on the menu. I wish they had them for dinner. Better than any Tex next place.

A piece of Summerville history. I first started going there when I was in high school and it has only gotten better since. Cozy atmosphere and great food! God bless you! read more

I was a plus one for a work dinner here so I didn't get to take any pictures. The reservation was for 15 and they had our table ready with water when we arrived. Service was really good and glasses were always full. I had the Chicken Carbonara. It was pretty good but I honestly would never pay that much for pasta so I'm glad someone else was footing the bill. I split a dessert of crepes with ice cream and chocolate sauce. It was okay. I'd like to come back and try their burger deal at the bar that I kept hearing about, sounded like a great deal. read more

We recently ate dinner here & it was as great. We haven't eaten there since 2019. This year we started eating at restaurants again a lot. Boy, have we missed this restaurant. The staff is very helpful, polite, and the food was good. We love the atmosphere as well. read more

I know this place is more for seafood, but I ordered the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection! May I also suggest ordering the garlic mashed potatoes with the feta cheese they were to die for! Their dessert of the month the strawberry shortcake was delicious. The bar staff was friendly and helpful. read more

Our go-to location. Great food and great service. They have never disappointed us over the past ten years. You will not regret adding little "Oscar" to your steak. Save room for dessert. No knife needed with the lamb chops. Great place to take visitors. read more

My husband and I decided to try this Summerville favorite while in the area and we were quite impressed. The courteous staff, delicious food, libation selection, and relaxed atmosphere made us feel like we were locals and had been eating here our whole life. We will definitely drive up from Charleston just to eat here again!! read more

We went to Oscar's for Thanksgiving dinner buffet and it was terrible! The turkey was tough and rubbery, the gravy was so thin it was almost like broth, the mashed potatoes had so much garlic in them that they were inedible. The roast beef and ham were stone cold, and the apple pie was undercooked - the apples were literally still crunchy. I will never again eat at this restaurant on Thanksgiving or any other day. It completely ruined our holiday. I ate one bite of each item, realized it was disgusting, and tried something else, only to be disappointed all over again. The buffet was $38 per plate, which did not include soft drinks, those were $2.50 each in addition. With tax and tip we spent $100 on the worst meal of our lives. I have had far superior turkey dinners at Cracker Barrel for $8.95 a plate. Oscar's Restaurant ruined Thanksgiving. read more

We went yesterday for a early Christmas with my daughter and son - in - law. The service was Excellent. Our waiter was really great and anticipated our needs. The food was amazing we all enjoyed tremendously. They socially distanced really well and also kept to the tine of the reservations, even though we were a little early. Will definitely go again read more

Went for lunch ... service slow ... restricted to the bar area ... food slightly above average

I have had Oscar's bookmarked for a very long time. A friend suggested happy hour, and I was game. We arrived at Oscar's and the parking lot was packed. I thought we might not be able to get a seat since we hadn't made a reservation. Fear not - the place is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. From start to finish, the was a fantastic experience. We sat in the bar and our server was Kristen (sp?). She was helpful, friendly, and checked on us often without being intrusive. If she crab soup is available, I order it everywhere I go. That way, I can tell my out of town guests who has the best. The she crab soup at Oscar's was fabulous. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was mighty good. If you're a she crab soup snob, this one might be a little sweeter than you're accustomed to. My dinner had the calamari, and she enjoyed it. I ordered the Frutti Di Mare, and is was quite good. I felt like the dish needed a bit more seasoning. I added quite a bit of pepper to my dish, and it was still a little bland. I blame that on the dish itself and not the chef, as it is meant to be a bland dish. My companion had the shrimp and grits, and her plate was EMPTY when she finished. She liked the added mushrooms and said it added a nice flavor. We shared a New York Style Cheesecake, and all I can say is SAVE ROOM. It is sooooooo good, and perfect for sharing. I will be back to Oscar's in the near future because they won me over. read more

Oscars Place Summerville's premier upscale affordablely priced restaurant. plenty of inside and out side seating with trivia night every Monday night on the patio. this place is busy so expect a 20 to 40 minutes wait if you want to wing it and not place a reservation. Great staff and superior chefs make for an excellent dining experience. They also offer great opportunities for parties and events. The fried calamari with sweet chili and marinara dipping sauce is excellent though we weren't impressed with the French onion soup. my server Miss Erica was outstanding. The braised lamb shank was so tender it fell off the bone. It was on a bed of mashed sweet potatoes and topped with perfectly cooked asparagus. the special ordered deep fried scallops normally pan seared were very well done. Locals at the next table also recommended the seafood burrito, the prime rib and an excellent dessert called Xango. Overall a great time with the trivia night and an excellent meal. I can highly whole heartedly recommend this restaurant. read more

We ordered last night for curbside pickup. So thankful for the restaurants that are offering this at this time. First the positive, the dessert was delicious! The collards and garlic mashed potatoes were very good. The only negative thing, which was really a big deal, was that the "prime" New York Strip did not seem prime to me. It couldnt have even been "choice". It was difficult to cut with a knife and it was extremely chewy. Wound up throwing most of it away. My husband had the Filet and he said it was good, but for the price we paid for this dinner, it was definitely not worth it to us. OSCARS will be a definite go-to for dessert but we don't plan to be ordering food there again. read more

Quaint atmosphere; great service; my husband and I love their seafood burrito (one of their signature dishes)!

Best date night location in Summerville. Anniversary, Birthday dinner or just a Tuesday they are always impeccable.

The problem with this place is that the ambiance is deceitful. It's cafeteria masquerading as a fine dining establishment. When we went, the food was undercooked or overcooked and unseasoned. It was continually disappointing. Would not recommend for a special night. Maybe lunch would be better. read more

Our kids brought us to Oscar's as a thank you gift. We had all been planning to go, and this was a good opportunity for all 5 of us to share a nice meal out. Everyone ordered something different, and we shared bites. I had the seafood linguine, hubby had surf & turf, son-in-law had prime rib, daughter had the roasted chicken, and our granddaughter had the signature burrito. Oh, my goodness! It was all quite tasty and beautifully presented. We enjoyed great service. I think the burrito was the best flavor on the table! I will get it next time. We shared desserts - the banana split cheesecake and some fried cheesecake with caramel. Neither dessert was wonderful, but they were good. Oscar's a very nice treat! read more
