Five starts really isn't enough. Did a search for somewhere to get reservations for Friday and managed to get in at 545. Kelvin was our waiter and despite it being his birthday, he was happy to be at work serving his clientele. For an appetizer we had the shrimp, I had no idea just how much you could stuff a shrimp, but they pulled it off. For dinner we had surf and turf and the Trio. The fillet was done as order, all the seafood was cooked right, zero complaints. Kelvin suggested a dessert, caramel xango, which my wife picked while I took the key lime pie. Fantastic meal all around. read more

I've heard many people rave about this place and my husband and I finally had the chance to check it out. We went for lunch during my husband's birthday and had a great experience. Our service was EXCELLENT. Our server welcomed us with a big and sincere smile, she explained the lunch specials in great detail, and gave us great recommendations on what to order. I caved and ordered my 15th million dish of shrimp and grits. I was told that it won #1 Shrimp and Grits dish in Charleston so that brought up my expectations really high. To be honest, it was good, but I wouldn't say it was amazing or worthy of being #1. My husband ordered the prime rib philly cheese steak sandwich and that was really good and juicy. The sauce was dripping out of the sandwich, as it should haha. They also gave us a delicious crepe ice cream sandwich in celebration of my husbands birthday and that made the experience extra sweet. We will definitely have to be back to try food on the dinner menu. read more

My husband and I visited Oscar's for the first time on our 8th anniversary. Ambiance: we walked into a dimly lit restaurant. It was quiet and we were quickly greeted by a very sweet hostess. We had a reservation and were immediately seated. Drinks: I had the watermelon crush which was sooo good! It was refreshing. Not too sweet. My husband had a drink with rum and cranberry and orange juice. He said it was really good as well! Appetizer: we had the crab dip. It was good! It had a good mix of spice in it! I also had a cup of the she grab soup. It was very very rich but great! Dinner entrée: I had the strip which was very flavorful. It was done to my liking. Easy to cut. As a side I had garlic mash and Mac and cheese. Both were amazing!!! They complimented my steak perfectly! My husband had the ribeye with the same sides and he loves both sides as well with his. Dessert: our sweet waitress,Ashley, brought us out an ice cream filled crepe with chocolate sauce and whipped cream on top for our anniversary! We could barely eat it because we were so full but it was a good way to finish our dinner! We will definitely be back!! read more

Came with my family of 5 plus a baby for the mother's day brunch. Of course it was packed when we arrived. We ended up waiting 5/10 minutes after our reservation time, no big deal. Nice environment. I can definitely see this as a couples date night spot. Our waitress was very nice and attentive without being too over bearing. She took our drink orders right away and then explained where the different Buffett's were. Now the list of food that was served was extensive so I'll just mention things I got. I chose to try a little bit of a lot; seafood crepes, Gouda Mac n cheese, garlic mash potatoes, shrimp n grits, assorted sushi, pimento cheese and cracker, salmon cream cheese crostini's, Cedar plank salmon. So the winners out of all of this were the shrimp and grits and the seafood crepes. The seafood in the crepes had the perfect texture and the lobster sauce on top was perfection. Now I typically like my grits with sugar so I have avoided trying shrimp and grits but I figured Why not. So glad I tried them! The crunch of the seafood was perfect with the texture of the buttery grits. The salmon crostini's were my next favorite. The salmon spread was so creamy and was incredible on top of the crispy bread! The biggest disappointment was the Gouda Mac. I'm a Mac n cheese snob so I was not impressed. Maybe I'm just not a fan of Gouda. It just wasn't cheesy enough for me. For dessert I tried pecan pie which was tasteful but nothing spectacular. Also tried a peanut butter Oreo cake that was incredible! The filling was very light and the crust was Oreo. Wish I could've taken some home! Lastly was the flourless chocolate cake. Amazing! It was so dense but the cake was creamy with such a rich taste! Definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven't! read more

Best restaurant in Summerville. Maybe Charleston. Oldest restaurant. Great for date night!

This is a tried and true Summerville historical landmark. The menu is kept up to date and delicious. My favorite is the prime rib, which is only served on Sat and Sun. The next favorite is the seafood burrito, wow. It's an overload of seafood and will give you 1 or 2 more meals. As you can expect from the prime rib. read more

Always great service and good food. Love the wedge salad. It's fresh every single time. Their desserts are amazing.

It's niceee when you're not being stared at! Got sick off some oysters.. but still have some good dishes!

Excellent food; exceptional service. The seafood burrito was amazing along with the filet. The desert was the fried cheese cake in a tortilla with cinnamon ice cream (homemade), wiped cream and pecans. If we're ever back in town, this is definitely a must stop to eat. Jocelyn was our server; she was excellent; never had to ask for anything. Tammy checked in on us often to see how everything was. Again, this is a not to miss dinner; AMAZING!!!!! read more

The avocado toast and eggs are my favorite. My husband and son love the French toast. Definitely recommend.

Love it! Service & food are always amazing. Always leave full & pleasantly pleased. We Will keep coming..

The service was great but there is no policy on the website that no outside birthday cakes are allowed. They charged us $25 just to bring my birthday cake in and I refused to pay for a ridiculous policy but a very nice guy paid for my friends to bring in my birthday cake. The witness Morgan was very nice. read more

My family and I have visited this restaurant before. It's been 12-13 of us each time. The last time we were all there was about a year and a half ago. "Kelvin" was our waiter. He is excellent!!! This time (7/20/19) we had "Loretta". Excellent service again!!!. Food is always superb! I live here in Moncks Corner and will be back soon. My Aunt and Uncle who live in New Jersey enjoy the service all the time. So I'm sure the entire party will be visiting there again. This restaurant is one I will recommend to anyone who is looking for great food and service. Thank you Jondalyn Holmes read more

One of our favorite places to visit. Oscars is conveniently located near downtown Summerville. There is plenty of parking and the staff has always been friendly. We were disappointed to see that some of our favorites were no longer available on the menu but it gave us a chance to try something new. We were a party of 7 so we enjoyed a taste of a variety of dishes. I ordered the steak, it was just ok. Our waitress must have been a new hire and overwhelmed. She had gotten 3 of our orders incorrect and we continuously had to search for her for refills. We have her the benefit of the doubt, it happens. This wasn't one of our better visits but we would definitely go again read more

Jay was the best server. it was a pleasure to have him as my server. he made us laugh and smile! great guy! he needs a raise! the food was delicious too and he recommended so much! if you go here, ask for him! best guy! read more

The service from the time we entered was excellent. Very clean property and great ambiance. Our meal, however, was disappointing. My wife and I had encrusted halibut which was one of the specials last night. The halibut was very fresh but lacked big time In seasoning. It was just bland. We both said we would go back and try something else because of the service and ambiance. The asparagus and pumpernickel bread was very good. read more

Superior food great service. Great pricing. Best dinner ever. Very nice setting. You have to try this.

Amazing! This was my second time coming here for the New Year's Eve dinner and both times were fantastic. The reservation was made a week in advance and when we got there the place was packed. We got there a little early but we were able to get drinks at the bar while we waited. The new year's Eve menu had a bunch of options for appetizers and entrees. We got the surf and turf, prime rib, and braised short ribs. All were delicious. Our waitress was great at offering suggestions and checking in on us often. We also got two desserts to share, peanut butter pie and fried bananas with ice cream. Over all a great experience and I can't wait to go again. read more

Meh. I can see why people would love this place-I think it is a generational thing because tell you what: mom LOVED it for Thanksgiving. I mean, she STILL talks about it! But for me...mmmmmmeh. Here's two stars: 1st star for the really incredibly gracious staff that anticipated needs and was unbelievably patient with my disabled mother. 2nd star for keeping my mother happy during the Thanksgiving holiday and beyond. PS: the grits tasted like sour cream and chive potato chips. How is that possible? read more

Love this place!! Excellent food and ambiance. Service was excellent as well. Only complaint was the food always needs salt and pepper but I guess I'll just keep adding it when I come here. Better to under salt than over salt read more

Overpriced. Not so great. Seated in some annex building. Sad way to celebrate birthdays.

Victim of high expectations! So being new to Summerville I logically as any foodie will do checked yelps best . I got Oscars and went for Valentine's Day this year. By the way I'm writing a little late because I thought I had during that time but I didn't. Back to the review. It's fine dinning so expectations are high and it's got great reviews. Wife had the surf and turf and it was good not great. I had the seafood burrito( I know why right? ) well the waiter said it was one of there best dishes and it was meh. Service was good and the best thing of all was my sons Mac and cheese. Very very good. We also had dessert and it was ok as well so combining the waiting to get seated, the price, the food it all just came up average to us. Like with every other place in this price range I need a wow factor to say, "I will be back". No wow factor so I won't be back although I would recommend to others that they try it for themselves because it might just be that I had an average day. read more

Absolutely Phenomenal Food and Service!!!! I ordered the halibut 3 course meal and my wife ordered the Chicken Parmesan. My halibut came out with a light crisp on the bottom and perfectly done in the middle. The appetizer was Calamari, which had a light breading and was outstanding as well. Will definitely be returning as this place puts love and attention to detail into their cooking. read more

Excellent food. Very nice decor. Me and my wifes special occasion spot. Staff is professional and friendly.

Food is delicious! Service is attentive! Chicken Oscar is Amazing! This is an absolute favorite!

Great place, service and food. Wonderful place for special date or just to enjoy a tasty meal.

Went here on a Saturday evening had a reservation for 5PM. Upon arrival there appeared to be a significant wait from the people gathered outside. We were seated immediately after our final guest arrived. The menu choices were brief but very appeasing, we final came to a conclusion. For appetizers each person had the She crab soup or French onion soup and one person the crab dip. The soups were superb and we all nibbled on the crap dip and crackers with a EAP lumped crab and a nice old bay flavor. The entrees were of the same quality. Our server Al was on top of his game, attentive and professional. He noticed us giving cards to one of our guests and brought out a crepe with a candle on his own. Outstanding dinning experience!! read more

Oscar's is one of those places that you don't find much outside of downtown areas. Great food, excellent service, relaxed yet refined atmosphere, and reasonable prices don't just happen. The entire experience was exceptional from beginning to end! It was clear that our dining pleasure was important to our waitress, Dawn. She was knowledgeable, capable, and so friendly. It was clear she was happy working there! We had raw oysters and Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail for starters - delicious! Our favorite starter was the Bruschetta. Absolutely amazing. The Veggie Primavera, Pan Seared Scottish Salmon, and Seafood Burrito for entrees were extremely tasty and satisfying. And with Caramel Xango for dessert, we were replete! It was busy and we were treated as if we were the only customers. We will mark Oscar's as a favorite! read more
