I called Oscar last week for an estimate to trim and install 4 cables in my very large 125 yr old coastal live oak. When Oscar met me at my home in So. San Jose the next day, he provided me with a file folder with copies of up to date Cal. Contractors license, Certificate of Workers' Compensation Insurance, Certificate of $2,000,000 Liability Insurance, and Arborist certification. Oscar laser identified which large limbs he suggested be removed and others cabeled. He took about 15 minutes to fully evaluate the tree. I agreed to have him do the job the following week. He and his crew of 3 arrived about 15 min early. Oscar introduced them to me and they got right to work. They were very skillful and careful removing the large oak branches, covering my Malibu landscape lights and moving anything that could be damaged by falling branches. They had their own large debris truck with large chipper. All the vehicles had company markings. Their work was simply superb. Their climber/cutter was like an artist up in that oak and made it look beautiful. They completed the job on time and cleaned up the entire area to my satisfaction. This is best tree service company that I have seen, back in a few weeks, I called a few tree service company to estimate the tree pruning on my front yard, some of them give much higher quoted then what I thought, some of them have lower prices but they don't have full insurance, last week, I called Oscar tree service and Dam come to my house in the 2nd morning, he is an expert and he walked me through the scope they plan to do to prune the tree and keep the tree in healthy state and also have the reasonable quote for the work. You can feel that Dam is a trustable person when you talk to him first time, so I decide to go with Oscar and scheduled the work on next week. They had one day and half to work on the tree, and the result is beyond my expectations, they did great job, and my tree looks much better and healthy than before, even my neighbor said "wow, they did amazing job", and they also cleaned up all branches and leaves after that. Gus Lugo, you and your crew were absolutely AWESOME! I got my city permit Monday morning 12/7/15 and Gus had his crew at my home by 12:00 p.m. this same day. The crew worked hard and diligent in removing an enormous Magnolia tree. By the time I got home at 5:30 pm, the tree was gone. The next day the crew returned to grind the stump and take out another dead tree from our back yard. The entire job was completed by 3pm 12/8/15. Both trees and stumps gone, and their clean up better than our gardener (if we had a gardener). I must admit, I did research other arborist and Gus Lugo came in at a competitive, but slightly higher price; however, Gus knocked the price down to $250.00 cheaper than any of my other quotes, that's what got me. We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Oscar's Expert Tree Service. We had a large yucca tree in front of our house that was lifting up and cracking our foundation. We tried everything to kill it ourselves to no avail. Oscar's crew came out and removed the tree, and ground out the stump in no time at all. After reading reviews of the Tree Trimming service I was going to have do my job, I became a bit hesistant because of the comments posted....then I happen to see this link to Oscar and couldn't help but be a bit curious because he had such good reviews, so I decided to contact him to get one last estimate. My first impression was good because he was right on time for our appointment. As we talked, I became to really like him. He presented himself very well, was professional and knowledgeable. I explained to him what I wanted done (trim/thin two liquid amber trees and reduce the height of three italian cypress trees), and he explained to me what he would do. After giving him a few minutes, he provided me with a written estimate, and I was pleased to see his price was very competitive. I decided on the spot I would have him do the work. On the day of the job, again, he and the crew were right on time. The crew came with their equipment and a big chipper truck. The crew was friendly and efficient. Just prior to starting clean-up, Oscar asked me to come outside and take a look. He asked if I was okay with what they had done. We just had Oscar's company remove a very large Monterey pine from next to our house. The tree was about 5 feet from the house with large branches over the house. As you can imagine, we were concerned that tree remove didn't result in house damage. We got proposals from 4 contractors. All contractors arrived on time and were friendly and helpful in discussing the work to be done but only Oscar and another contractor gave estimates that were even close to what we thought would be a fair price. The most expensive estimate said it would take a large "bucket truck" to take down such a large tree and the work would take more than 2 days with grinding the stump taking almost a day. Oscar gave two days at most including tree grinding and no large truck needed. Oscar was true to his word. His crew did a great job cutting the tree down without any damage to the surrounding area and certainly not to the house. They ran into some problems which caused a little delay but Oscar made sure that his men finished in two days as promised. They did a very good job grinding the large stump and surrounding roots in no time at all; I was amazed. When they finished I asked Oscar if the price he quoted me was fair given the amount of work. He said, the quote was the quote. I paid him more than the quote because I was so satisfied.
