Soo! I finally tried Oscar's after hearing everyone rant and rave about it and was disappointed!! I ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich it was bland couldn't even taste the Buffalo sauce and lettuce and tomato's wasn't fresh my sautéed onions had a few brisket in it!! My coworker ordered the Ruben and she said it was dry. The only thing that was good was the ranch! My fried had something like lint or something on there. TMI!! Sometimes it isn't made properly- not in a crock and no bread topper but when it's right it's one of his favorites. Some servers aren't familiar with mixed drinks and don't add the proper garnishes. This place was really good! I had the old bay wings and my husband had a burger and a Bloody Mary. Wings. Were. On. Point!!! Bloody Mary was spicy just like my husband likes. Staff was attentive, friendly, and not overbearing. I will definitely go back for those wings alone. Place is limited in their food options but I guess they're known most for their burgers. This place is simply just the best when it comes to the food , pretty much everything on the menu is perfect. I have had many things before like the ribs , pulled pork sandwich, chicken sandwich, fish n chips, which are all good but my favorites have to be the buffalo wings and texas egg rolls. The wings are perfectly seasoned and covered with perfect amount of sauce 9/10 times (ive had one bad experience and i was refunded) and you just cant beat em with the ranch. The texas egg rolls are also just the perfect dish to split with someone because they are so unique and filling mostly anyone should like them , highly recommend the green sauce with them. The last thing i have to say is that the service is usually super friendly and quick but everytime i come here i never get napkins or silverware with takeout and never get my sauces so always double check your bag. 8 years later... This is still our favorite place in town. The management, the bartenders, the wait staff are exceptional and always take great care of us (shout out to Kim, Rose, Lauren, Drew, Ben and Jake). We've tried EVERYTHING on the menu at this point and I can't think of one thing that I didn't like, but the roast beef sandwich, steak sandwich, grouper sandwich, buffalo sandwich the salads and pizzas are among the "go-to" items. After a bad (or good) day at work, this is the place to go for a cold beer and a nice meal. We refer to it as "the Winchester", as it's the place to go (Shaun of the Dead reference ;) ). Do not order from Oscars Alehouse West from home. I asked for saltine crackers, a must, for my chili. They sent hard chips. I asked for extra gravy because the meatloaf sandwich is dry, no extra gravy. The chili was not full, I measured it to be an inch from being full. I got about $2 worth of chili, I paid $5. This will be my last review and order. I emailed Oscar;s several times and they never answer. Their motto, once your money is in our pockets , deal with it. read more

I don't like to write a low star review unless a place makes me upset enough. Sadly that happened tonight with Oscars. I've always generally enjoyed their food but the service has been iffy in the past. Tonight I ordered a gumbo to go, it cost $8, and they gave me what I would consider to be a half sized side. I am truly disappointed because I think this establishment could be really great. This is just the most recent unpleasant experience I've had here though. My first visit was yesterday to this place, I had not eaten all day saving room for what I had expected to be an awesome mouth watering meal!!! When my rack of ribs came to me it was obvious that they were burned horribly but I tried to make the most of it as I was terribly hungry. I was asked if I wanted to return them but by that point I had already filled up on the fries. I'm sure the food at this place is wonderful normally, I just happened to have a bad experience. I will give them another shot next month & try a different food but of they mess that up I'm done with them. Chilli's has Amazing ribs so I don't have to go to this place to get them. Obviously they put on too much dry rub & that was an Insult to such a great cut of meat. You need a light coating of dry rub then a medium coating of sauce. At least I got a discount on the food but I'd rather have had an Awesome mouthwatering meal!! read more

Normally this place would receive a 5 out of 5, but this time I am being kind 2 give them a 2. So my daughter and I went out after a long day of Zooming (made up the word). We decided 2 go 2 Oscar's because normally their food is impeccable and so is their service. Normally, I order a pot pie or I have even tried their meatloaf in the past. Well this time I ordered their brick oven pizza (which I have had on several occasions) wings (teriyaki and buffalo) and my daughter ordered fries. We waited for about 20 minutes and our bowling alley like pepperoni pizza, our feather filled chicken wings and cold (burnt) fries came 2 the table. I called the manager over 2 make it right. He did, by taking the wings and fries off of the bill and by having the kitchen 2 redo our pizza to go and some fries. Well the pizza was burned this time and the fries were still cold and burnt. The waitress was really nice until.... I gave her a 20 bill because my bill was 9.54 cents 4 the pizza. She was so thankful as she took away the receipt booklet. We waited and waited 4 her to return with my receipt at least. She walked past the table and my daughter asked 4 our receipt. She returned after 15 minutes and sort of threw the receipt booklet onto the table with 10 bucks inside and no receipt. Well, I guess she was upset because she did not get a 10. 46 tip. I would have preferred that she returned my change and then I provide her my tip. I am not sure what was going on in this place. read more

This was my first time here. I'm in town with family for the Ravens game tomorrow and I told them to take me to a good burger place. This by far was a great choice. They not only grill the burger but also the bun! I had the alehouse burger. It came on a Cajun spice bun with pepper jack cheese and andouille sausage. A perfect spice blend that was accompanied by some good hand cut fries. The burger wasn't dry and had a great seasoning to it. All of the ingredients were fresh and the food was cooked to order. This is definitely a come back to! If you are close by, make it your business to get in and enjoy this place. read more

We enjoyed this place & will defiantly come back. The cream of crab was ok, nothing amazing, but enjoyable. I tried a special which was balsamic chicken, it was delicious. My husband had the fish & chips & thought they were good. We also tried the Cesar salad, I don't think there was any anchovies in the dressing, but it was still good. We tried a special dessert which was a flourless cake. It was tasty, but I think it may have been better if made with a darker chocolate & much more raspberry sauce. The service was exceptional. Our waitress constantly checked in on us, but we did tell her this was our first time here. Either way service was great & our food came out in a timely fashion. We will definitely return to try some of the other delicious sounding food. For now I feel they are about 3 1/2 stars, but I gave them 4 because of the service. read more

Never had a questionable experience here. Food is consistently served hot and quickly. Service is friendly and constantly checking on tables. The pretzel appetizer is the best in town. We checked in we're told there would be a 25 minute wait and that we could have a seat. Only problem no where to sit and no one else waiting.... I asked where to sit, the hostess said you can sit in your car and we'll call you. I'll update if the service is better. Update: We are 35 minutes into the wait and the hostess still has no idea when we'll be seated. The best thing here is the staff. They are pleasant and work together. Great attitude. Our order was served in a short time. The Chicken Chesapeake was good with a flattened chicken breast topped with a breaded crab. Just enough crab to taste it. The asparagus nice size and tender. The Reuben was a good size and tasty. I reserved a table for my husband's birthday with guests spanning three generations, and I'll be honest, I was a little concerned when we drove up. From the outside, Oscar's isn't much: It's tucked away in a strip mall that was kind of a pain to get in and out of. But...don't let that fool you! Once we walked inside I knew we'd picked a great place for the pizza, burgers, and beer he had requested. The inside is much nicer, and bigger, than the outside suggests, while still being basically a pub. The beer menu is one of the best (if not the best) I've seen in the area, and the server was friendly and checked in on us a few times (enough to see how we were doing without interrupting our celebration). Plus she was very accommodating with the TV and our request for the football game. The food was average to good. I loved my turkey Reuben. They don't go overboard with the dressing. My husband said his burger was good but could have done with some sort of sauce or spread. The brownie sundae was a little hard/burnt but it was also on the house for the birthday so I can't complain. All told, we'll go back if we're in the area, probably for an appetizer and to watch the game. read more

This place (Eldersburg location) has really gone downhill over the past 5 years. I remember when the portions were big and prices were fair. I came in for the $8 wing "special" today at lunch and left with a $40 tab. The wings were cooked fine but sauce was not good. There were only 7 medium wings in the order so I ordered the fish sandwich after the wings. The sandwich came out so cold the cheese didn't even melt and there was barely any fish. I called the manager over and showed him the lack of fish and he told me they weigh out the fish and that's what it is. I remember when the fish was hanging off the sandwich, now it's barely there. I got some French onion soup after he took away the sandwich which was good and had 2 beers while there. My bill came to $33 after taking the fish sandwich off which seemed high for 7 wings, a bowl of soup and 2 beers. I tried to use a $10 off coupon and was told I couldn't since the wings were already discounted. After tip, I wound up paying $40 for 2 beers, 7 wings and a bowl of soup. I try to support local business but this will be my last time at Oscar's. EW Becks is far superior so that's where I will go from now on. Sucks that such a good place has gotten so bad. Swung by here for dinner before heading back to the city, and since there were a bunch of things that got us curious, we decided to go about it family style. The staff was more than accommodating when it came to seating as we had 2 infants in our group, and service was pretty cordial (which definitely came in handy with two cranky mamas). The Crab soup was amazing--and for those who don't mind a bit of heat, and want to lighten it up--I couple shots of tobasco lightens it right up. The Jambalaya was decent, but the chicken was quite dry. The rest of the meal was pretty satisfying. The calamari was overcooked as well, which left the calamari on the tough side, but it didn't stop us from finishing the plate. The fried pickles came out scorching hot and I give big props to being able to have it crispy on on the outside, and still juicy on the inside. Overall the meal was more than we needed and it definitely had us fueled up for the long drive home. It's safe to say we'd come back for another feast here when we're in the area. read more
