One of the few cuisines we hadn't sampled yet in Mobile was the sushi. Yelp to the rescue, as always. We both enjoyed the sushi here very much. I had the plain ol' spicy tuna roll, and my husband has had a few of their specialty rolls. The seaweed salad is also very good. They serve their alcoholic drinks in the cutest cups- my mai tai was in a pineapple with a lid! So cute. We've been twice now and enjoyed the food both times. My husband and I decided to check out Osaka to satisfy a hibachi craving we'd been having for, oh, about a year now. "Mainland-style" hibachi is hard to come by on Oahu so we'd been looking forward to this for a long time! The place was pretty empty, but it was around 5pm on Saturday night so I'm sure it picked up later in the evening (yeah yeah, we're old!). We snagged a hibachi grill all to ourselves which is always nice and settled in for the meal. Our soup and salads were brought out at the same time along with a complimentary cream cheese wonton appetizer which I thought was a delicious and nice touch. The salad had that wonderful creamy ginger dressing and the soup was loaded with green onions, mushrooms, and fried onions. They were both very good! My husband ordered the teriyaki chicken and I got the salmon and shrimp combo. The prices seemed perfect to us, but then again, we're used to paying $30+ each for this kind of dish in Waikiki so all the prices seemed excellent lol. Our chef was very personable and nice and put on a great show for us. The food was cooked perfectly and we both enjoyed our entrees, fried rice, and veggies so much! My only complaint would be that service was a bit slow in getting our dishes cleared out, drinks refilled, etc., but I am more than willing to keep going back based on our night. If this place stays awesome I'm hoping it becomes our #1 hibachi restaurant in Mobile! read more

This had to be the worst Japanese restaurant I've ever been to. The rice on the rolls was soggy. The teriyaki for the hibachi tasted like it was the cheapest thing they found on a grocery shelf. Do not go here unless you feel like throwing your money down the drain. read more

Worst restaurant I've ever been to. I ordered the crunchy volcano roll and a spicy tuna roll. The tuna in both was minced and bulked with tempura (my guess is to cut food costs), it was a lower quality than canned tuna. It tasted horrible. I asked for a different roll and it was only ok. I was charged for 50% of the crunchy volcano roll because I ate 2 pieces before sending it back.. Absolutely ridiculous. The bathrooms smell horribly of mothballs. The service was horrible other than a very sweet, personable blonde female waitress. She was the only positive experience of the restaurant and she wasn't even my waitress. Don't go here. read more

My husband and I have been here many times before and haven't ever really run into any problems. I once went on my own and had a rough experience with a waiter who had been there for a day or so. His service was fine but the owner woman kept yelling at him loud enough that I could hear and I felt terrible. Today we went there for lunch and wanted Hibachi. As soon as we arrive they seat us at a table with two people on the end and right across was a full table (the hibachi tables are connected). The couple thought it was weird that they made us sit together (which it was) and they left. We waited about five minutes for the waitress to get our drink order. She brought our waters and we then waited another 15 minutes for her to come back to the table. She told us that another table across the room was there first and we'd have to wait another 15-20 minutes. We didn't mind waiting but we would have like to have known that a little sooner. She then takes our order. Then the owner comes over to the table while my husband is in the restroom and asked if we want to move over to the table across the room because "it will be quicker". I told her I wanted to wait and ask my husband and she said ok. She came back 5 more times and asked me the same question and I repeatedly told her I wanted to wait. At this point I was fed up. My husband comes back and we move tables after having been there for about 30 minutes. My husband and I realize that they wanted us to move so they could cook our food with that same large group, to which we knew we would be receiving a smaller portion size because you can't cook for 12 on one Hibachi grill. So we up and walked out with no food. The owner is very pushy and inconsiderate. The staff is not well trained. It's a shame because we love the food there. Probably won't be back. read more

I will give this place less than one star but here is my experience. I went in with my sons and my daughter and we all had hibachi. Within 30 mins to 45 min of leaving the restaurant, we all ended up with excruciating diarrhea. We have never had this happen before and we have eaten there before. I called the restaurant to tell them about it and I was pretty much called a liar. If they had even responded with a "I am sorry that this happened" then I would not be so angry. I will never be eating here again. I will call the Health Department and tell them about our experience because this was ridiculous.
