The portions were nice, and the presentation looked great too. The only thing that bothered me was the customer service. Mary was our server, and I understand they were busy, so I definitely take that into consideration. But after our food came out, there really wasn't much of a check-in to see how everything was or if we needed anything else. Even when a restaurant is busy, a quick "How is everything?" or checking to see if we need refills goes a long way. The food was definitely the highlight of our visit, and we will visit again. Hopefully next time the service is a little more attentive because that would make the overall experience perfect all around.

Can't wait to come back and enjoy the patio with my entire family this summer. Ambiance 5/5. Outdated decor just like all VFWs, but this one has AMAZING views of the Mississippi River, so the ugly furniture doesn't even matter anymore. Free and plentiful parking never hurts either. Food 4/5. Broasted chicken was perfect with bubbly crispy skin and tender meat! Sides were okay, but not as good. Next time, I'll get chicken only. The mashed potatoes and gravy came as a generous portion. It also came with some baked beans and coleslaw. Service 5/5. Great service too. I just wanted to get some chicken to take home, but my server said it was a 20 minute wait for Broasted Chicken and offered me a complimentary soda to enjoy while I waited. I got to enjoy a beautiful sunset overlooking the river while I waited.
