They took a look at my car for free to identify the issue and they detected the leak to be coming from my engine and not my transmission. They showed me exactly what they were seeing, why they thought it was my engine and not my transmission, and offered to put a dye in my transmission fluid to ensure it was my engine and not my transmission. I drove my car for a week and took it back to double check, and sure enough it was my engine! Although they spent time and care on my car, they didn't charge me a single penny, even when I insisted to at least pay for the dye. They were able to refer me another mechanic to fix my engine leak and I was able to get my issue solved that same day. As a woman who is nervous to get work done on my car, I had an excellent time at El Monte Transmission. If you are having transmission troubles, please go to them :)

It's been two years since I had work done here on my 2020 g20. I had carbon fiber mirror caps,…read morepassenger side mirror motor replaced and front splitter installed here. They charged me $500 for this work. Originally it was $400 but I asked for the front splitter installed and that was another $100. I just felt like I was taking advantage off. To top it off the mirror caps wasn't installed correctly and I had another mechanic fix it. Anyways I found another mechanic that has been working on my car and wife's car that I fully trust. Not a rip off like this place. I didn't want to write this review but it's been nagging the hell out of me for how much I was charged for. He also suggested I should change my oil filter housing at 48k miles with no signs of coolant/oil leakages. Yes these are known to fail but no issues yet and I'm at 60k miles now. He said $1600 for OFH. My current mechanic can do for $1100 OE parts. My current mechanics has 8 lifts and are always busy, so no not some run of the mill shop that is low quality. Hope this helps someone out there. Edit: The owner sent me a fake invoice saying the job was $200. It was not $200. I was charged $500. I paid cash. Very petty man, now I'm super glad I posted this review.

I was recommended to take my 2013 Nissan Sentra to GP1 when the transmission started to have…read moreissues. After doing a lot of research and comparing I was confident that GP1 also had the best prices when it comes to the Nissan transmissions. This is something that they specialize in compared to normal transmission shops. Cindy was extremely communicative and very transparent with me the entire time my car was at GP1. They helped me understand what my options were and what all price estimates and different scenarios entailed. I eventually decided to replace my transmission entirely with a new one due to the age of the car. The whole thing took about a week, which was no problem for me. There is a 2 year/ 25k mile warranty they stand by so I'll be coming back to give an update on how my transmission is working but overall my experience was very positive and I'd recommend them to other Nissan owners.

He gave me a price which it was 1.8k but he did not specify exactly what he was going to do with the transmission. I gave my car thinking he was going to rebuild the transmission and leave my car in a pretty good condition but it turned out to be the worst!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Now my car is leaking oil from the transmission & he came up with an excuse saying that he left the tachometer slower to let my car make changes smoothly. PURE BS. I asked for receipts and he only showed 2 one for axels which was $200+ which at the end overall everything came out to 2k. The second receipt was one for converter. Which the date of the receipt was on April 17, 2026 & I took my car on April 21?How did he know my transmission only needed converter? & charged me 2k? He kept my car for 2 weeks!!! I did not receive full refund only half of what I paid. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME LEARN FROM ME!

Also mention the price was a bit higher than I expected and didn't want to continue. They later mentioned they're already working on it. Few days later it's finally done. The work quality is decent, but I wouldn't come back again since I had to keep calling for a price. The price was enough to were I would just buy a used head to replace onto my car. Wasting lots of my time. Keep in mind they primarily speak Spanish, so there was a language barrier for me. Also to mention on one of the photos the one valve that was replaced is completely different than all the others. They mention that's all they could source and I had to purchase one myself again. They said they would replace it at no charge. But the time wasted to go back and forth I can't get back. I now have a head I'm going to reinstall but I'm skeptical about the quality of work.
