I came here with a date, and the burrito was quite big. I believe I ordered the surf 'n' turf, with jamaica. And of course, they served us chips and salsa as an appetizer. I had to take the burrito to-go since it was so big, but service was great. The food tasted amazing. I really liked the salsa (it tasted pretty fresh, but I could be wrong, as I was really hungry), although I'm not too big on regular tortilla chips. My date ordered fish tacos, I believe, but I didn't try them, so not sure how they tasted. It was a bit stuffy inside, but they have a lot of seafood options on their menu, a welcoming staff, and a cooler in the back, with plenty of drink options.

I usually hate leaving reviews for small businesses but I have given the Horrible customer service too many chances!! I work across the street so I have eaten here often! Today I sat while I waited for my order. The tables were getting full & a large family came in looking for a table (mind you I had moved 3 different times to make room for others while I waited) the owner just looked at me while I sat at the table the family needed & told them to sit there. Never once did he come over and kindly ask me to move they just awkwardly took over the table. I would have no problem moving but he should take some leadership. If table are full and you have guest waiting he should make all guest feel welcomed and not just awkwardly stare at me until I got out of the seat..Like I said this isn't the first time they showcased their poor customer service..Something very simple EVERY time I walk in no one Ever greets you. A simple "hi welcome" goes a long way! I drove down to Tacos Baja instead. I walked in, they have AC it's clean & they are FRIENDLY. The photo is from Tacos Baja on Whittier Bld. Not Ortega's Also mind you, I waited 25 minutes for my order(which was just 1 grilled fish taco) & still was not called. I drove down to tacos Baja and was served in less & ate in less than 10 minutes.

Just ordered breakfast it was disgusting! The chilaquiles were a soggy mess mixed with the chile sauce they use to put on tacos. I asked for over easy eggs and got hard well done yolk... Gross!! Not worth the $20 for this dish. Just realized that I had ordered the same thing 2 years ago... what was I thinking?!?!?!

Great spot for some latin seafood. They have a large menu and good space for groups. The service was kind and quick. We ordered the aguachile and it was so spicy for me that I couldn't finish it. They serve breakfast all day. Parking can be tricky in this area. It's in a plaza with a lot of other businesses.

Shrimp ceviche. Skimpy on the shrimp, all tomato

Ortegas used to be very good and worth what they charge for ceviche trays but not anymore. $60+ for a tray of what might as well be pico de gallo is crazy! The few pieces of shrimp that were in there weren't clean and it gave me asco. I'll go back for food, but not for ceviche.

They were fresh, crunchy, with ample green tomatillo salsa that was flavorful, making for a very authentic bite. The beans were very good and complemented the chilaquiles perfectly. Authentic Mexican flavors showcased well. Service: The waitress was friendly, attentive, and joyfully answered my questions about the menu. I also asked about the traditional colorful head piece located behind glass next to the register and learned that it is a Chinelo, a traditional iconic carnival character from Morelos, Mexico. It is clear, the restaurant owners are proud of their heritage and are sharing it with everyone. Ambiance: The small but cozy restaurant features an incredibly vibrant, maximalist indoor garden vibe that immediately makes you feel like you are dining inside an enchanted greenhouse. Dense artificial greenery blankets the walls and ceiling. The cozy, casual neighborhood layout is packed with personality, featuring playful multicolored floral tablecloths, festive flags, and unique lived-in accents. It's an energetic setting for a lively meal.

This restaurant is in such an obscure location, I can't believe I was going to a Burrito Track across the street for so many years not knowing this place existed. Friendly staff and prompt service. The unfortunate negative is it's location and I'm referring to parking. There must be 8 business crammed into this lot. With a bar to the right and a laudermat on its left finding a parking spot is like winning the lotto. Now layer in one driveway and you have to make a 3 point turn just to navigate to leave. The short answer is I will absolutely go back to this place as long as there is a parking space to be had.

We came here because my cousin DJSP was the featured DJ this Sunday, so I did my Yelp research and to be honest, I didn't know what to expect because the most recent reviews were a couple of months old, no recent food photos and menu photos were outdated. However we were going either way because it was also our featured DJ's birthday. We made reservations but that was difficult too as we called for several days until someone actually answered the phone. I was a little surprised because the food we ordered were all pretty tasty, decent portions, and reasonably priced. The service was ok. Orders took a little time to arrive, but they made sure we had chips and salsa and with a full crowd and a limited number of wait staff, they made sure we were still being attended too. It is very loud here with a full restaurant of diners, the live DJ and football games going with loud cheering fans, so if you have sensitive hearing, bring some ear plugs.

We started out with the corn and moved to pork belly tacos that were delicious. My sister opted for the three tacos with different meats. We shared a side of rice. Be aware the portions are big!!!!! Of course I couldn't resist a few margaritas that were well made. We will definitely be back soon! Thanks for a great experience. Oh I almost forgot the churros are the way to end the meal.

This place is a nice option when you're in Uptown Whittier looking for a place to eat…read more The salsa was spicy and fresh. The nachos and veggie fajitas were just how I like it. The refried beans and rice tasted good and that is one of my requirements for authentic Mexican cuisine. We lucked out because Golden Road Brewing was there promoting their Mango Cart wheat ale. It was delicious. There is a large cantina in the back with many big screens TVs. The front of the restaurant was quieter but also very nice. The service was helpful and courteous and we enjoyed our evening there. I can't wait to go again and try something else on the menu.

Well I received the flautas (which were very tasty) but they were BALD. There was about one tablespoon worth of guacamole on the side. And a tiny little pinch of lettuce. I immediately asked the waitress if it was missing the toppings, and she said "yes it's missing sour cream." She left and came back and said there was no more sour cream. A Mexican restaurant without sour cream? Oh! really wish I would've known that before ordering because, like I said, I love my flautas drenched in toppings. I would've ordered something else had I known there was no sour cream. I requested some extra guacamole to make up for the lack of sour cream. With guacamole and the salsa that comes with chips, it still tasted pretty good but my heart was wishing I had sour cream and tons of cheese. It was definitely a tasty meal but was a HUGE miss on the lack of toppings, which is what I crave when I order flautas. I've never seen flautas look so sad and lonely. The rice and beans were okay. Not too bad not too good. Just ok. It's a shame the restaurant is super beautiful but the food doesn't really seem authentic.
